  1. Well, still no response from Viking Holy Land cruise. Business as usual. I am shocked at their lack of customer service. Several cruise lines have completely cancelled their itineraries until the spring and given full refunds back according to a travel agent who lives in my community. I can tell you this AMA and Avalon are looking better and better for a river cruise. Going into the Eastern Mediterranean is insane. I wouldn’t be surprised if Viking waited until a week out and cancelled then. Less people to compensate with a full refund. Shame on you Viking!
  2. This would have been our third cruise with Viking this year. Amazon in January, 15 day Great Lakes in July and Holy Land November. We are old and wanted to see the Holy Land and visit Rome one last time. So when we asked for a voucher answer no, $4000 to reposition cruise answer no. I just felt like giving up, but with this new information I’m ready to ask again!😬👍
  3. What’s did they do about your air. We spent $3599 each. I have never had to cancel a trip in 55 years. I understand the voucher, but what about the air?

  6. I am Happy for you. And I mean it.😬 I begged Viking last week to take my $4000 and use the monies from my Holy land cruise and put me on a repositioning cruise next fall. “No can do” I was told. Now I have the exact situation (different insurance not Viking) and I’m out $18,000.
  7. I hope they nix Cyprus also. US embassy singled Cyprus out about a security alert for Americans. I wish I knew how to put it on this site for all to read. Viking is throwing us a bone $500 ship board credit I told them to keep it I didn’t want it just keep me out of the Eastern Mediterranean.😡
  8. We get ZERO back from them!! They wouldn’t even let us transfer monies to another cruise, which would have been $4000 more. We did not have there insurance we had a different insurance that didn’t cover for declared war! This would have been our 3rd cruise THIS YEAR with Viking. We were trying to catch up on our travel because of 2 years no Covid travel.
  9. It’s worth the $18,000 hit. We have travel insurance up to $20,000 and it covers for terrorist attack but not declared War. Go figure any insurance person out there think we can fight this? We always just thought we would need to cancel in case of sickness and we would be covered. Any thoughts? We have been paying $550 a year for this at least 12 years for this coverage.
  10. The US embassy in Cyprus just issued a warning to Americans there and ask that they enroll in the STEP program and stay away from all crowds. Doesn’t sound to relaxing especially with two aircraft carriers floating around in the Eastern Mediterranean. We are canceling!!!
  11. It would be nice if Viking let us know what is going on!! Their have been protests in Athens, Cyprus, Rome, and Naples. Just the same reply “we are monitoring the situation”. Very disappointed in the customer service!!! Time for anyone on that cruise should call daily 1-877-668-4546. It has been 13 days and not one word from Viking!
  12. We also are very disappointed in the response from Viking. Today the state department issued an advisory against traveling overseas for all Americans. You can google protests in Athens, Cyprus,Greece & Rome along with a planned pro-Palestinian rally for Naples,Italy Oct 13th. As I figure it that is 9 days out of 14 were there is protests right now involving thousands of people. I can’t believe they have left us with zero information. Especially now that so many of our ports are also protesting. I think anyone on that cruise should call everyday. 1877-668-4546 At least let us use the money paid for another cruise. This would have been our 4th cruise with Viking. Terrible customer service!!!😡
