  1. An update..... we did not receive any notification that we had earned the six days. We found a cruise that we were interested in booking for 2020 and surprisingly there were only a few N1 and N2 cabins still available. I was surprised that it was filling up this far out and thought maybe they were only showing a few available rooms instead of all that are available but I checked a couple of other sites and all showed the same rooms. So, I called and was told the procedure is to book the cruise then in a couple of days we would receive a new invoice showing the new fare with the 6 free nights included. Skeptical, but I proceeded and booked. The representative said I would have a new invoice by last Friday. On Wednesday, still no new invoice so I emailed the rep directly (I asked for his direct contact and he agreed to give it to me). In less than 10 minutes I had a new invoice with the fare reduced by 6 days. The gentleman that helped me on the phone was very friendly, helpful, and knowledable. I am very pleased. We have used the same travel agent for over 10 years and he has gone AWOL on us. Not answering phone or emails so this is the first time that I have booked directly with Azamara and so far a good experience.

  2. In November 2017 we were onboard Quest and gained the required points to earn the free nights on the last night of this 16 night cruise. Made an appointment at the cruise desk and highlighted this to them & the cruise we wanted to book with our 4 free nights. All came back from Miami all processed & passed on to our TA within 48 hours. We actually booked it at around day 5 of the cruise, but they took into account that the LCV points would be gained.

We too booked a new cruise onboard after earning the 4 free nights on the cruise we were sailing on. Had no problem and we had a lovely cruise last October. However, this time we changed levels after sailing on Celebrity so I was hoping for an official paper showing the 6 free nights earned.

  3. I wouldn’t ever expect Azamara or any cruise line to notify me when I moved up in rank or earned a new perk. They keep track of thousands of people

Well at least one person did. I would agree that most cruise lines do not acknowledge a move in tier level but when free nights are awarded I would think there might be a paper trail.

  4. Hmmm....seems to be the typical Azamara response. Some people get confirmation and some people don’t. We received 4 free nights 2 years ago but we booked the free nights on the same cruise that we earned them. This time we were on Celebrity and did not already have a cruise plan for redeeming them. Silly me, I thought we would receive an official notice. I’m sure all will work out when we decide on a cruise. Thank you for your replies.

  5. We moved from Discover to Discover Plus on our last Celebrity cruise and have five cruises on both Celebrity and Azamara. According to all that I have read, we should receive 6 free nights. Should we receive something (cerfiticate, email, etc) from Azamara?

  6. This has been a frustrating morning. We are flying out today for Paris and then flying to Dublin on the 18th. We have a rent car after getting off the cruise and B&B reservations that night so time is critical. We do not have time to wait in line for a taxi for two hours to take us to the car rental location which is probably a 10 min taxi ride. Trying to book a private taxi and we can't get the websites to recognize terminal 7's location. Can anyone tell us an address for where we will be after getting our luggage when we depart the Eclipse?

  7. We were on the 70's Rock n Romance last week also with a group of 8. Loved the music and all the activities. First time on the Summit but not the first time on Celebrity. We were a bit disappointed in the service and the ship is looking a bit worn. We ate in the MDR and had good meals, Q-Sine one night where service was good but not sure it was worth the upcharge. Buffet at lunch had the same offerings all 5 days. Buffets are not our favorite place to eat but it was ok. We booked the Flower Power cruise for 2019. Our group liked the Flower Power lineup better. Not many rooms left, only OV and AQ left. Looking forward to another fun cruise.

  8. Does EVERY tour automatically increase in price if you book onboard? Just trying to get a feel for the possible impact... thanks

We were on the Quest for a b2b in October. We prebooked 3 excursions and used the work around after we boarded. Never had to wait in line and each excursion's cost increased by $5. 2 of the 3 excursions were very well executed, one not so much but we still enjoyed ourselves.

  9.

Do men also wear sports coats in the specialty dining rooms as outlined below?

Just off a b2b on the Quest. We saw more men wearing sport coats in the MDR and both specialty restaurants than ever before on Azamara. Women were also more dressed up than on previous cruises. They were still in minority but not by much.

  10. Well them we'll give them kudos for managing the on board experience and zeros for the horrible job they are doing for passengers before and after the cruises. Remember the old phrase one awe %^^^&& cancels all the attaboys!!!

Currently on Quest. Won't go as far as saying Miami totally cancels the wonderful onboard experience but it puts a huge ding in it. We have spent the first half of the cruise dealing with a $500 OBC loss and putting us in the wrong room which meant changing rooms on turnaround day of our b2b. We booked two years ago and selected 8046 for both legs. When we printed our checkin passes, noticed we were in 8054. No clue when it was switched but we were still in 8046 for the second leg. Once onboard Guest Relations found our OBC and managed to get us in 8050 for the second leg. But who wants to spend your free time talking to Guest Relations for 4 days to get things right?

  11. We are doing a b2b on the Quest in October with our turn around day in Civitavecchia. This is our first b2b. We want to do a tour to Ostia Antica. What is a reasonable time that we could schedule a start time for the tour? Do we have to check in for the 2nd cruise before leaving the ship? Not sure of the logistics and would appreciate advice.

  12. We ended an Azamara cruise in 2012 in Athens. We booked a tour with Athens Taxi (name of company-not just a taxi in Athens). They picked us and our luggage up at the port and we did a full days tour of Athens, then dropped us off at our hotel, Athens Gate. Highly recommend the hotel. The view from our room was the Acropolis and they had a wonderful rooftop bar. View at night was spectacular. Same company picked us up the next morning to take us to the airport.

  13. Often depends on the cruise. On our Mediterranean cruise where we were in port late most nights, we were able to get reservations the same day. On our Caribbean cruise, the specialty restaurants were booked for all week after the first day. We made our reservations upon boarding for our Panama Canal cruise but there were empty tables around us most nights.

  14. They are expensive, but the value appears to be improving and they are now within the cost of many "private" tours.

If you are comparing prices for 2, I agree Azamara's prices are about equal. But, even a group of 4 often cuts the price in half and a group of 6 can make a huge difference.

To the OP, my suggestion is find the tour that you are interested in, book it, and ask others on your roll call to join you. We are sailing in October and I posted tours about a month ago and we are now full. Just takes the right person to join your roll call. Activity on the roll call will pick up about a month before sailing.

  15. We are on the same cruises, but my invoice says October 3. Although we overnight in Venice, so you are correct that we don't depart until the 4th.;)

Sorry, about the confusion. Yes, we board the 3rd and depart the 4th. When we originally looked at this cruise it did start on the 4th and it was extended by 1 day. The roll call still has the 4th in the title.

What 2 cruises are you on in October? We are also booked on the Quest for the cruise beginning on the 21st.

We will be departing. We start in Venice on Oct 4th and doing a b2b that ends in Barcelona.

  17. On our Med cruise last June our excursion to Florence and Pisa was cancelled. We got a note in our cabin on the evening before the day of the trip!

It gave us very little time to organise an alternative.

In the end we just got in a taxi at the docks and arranged a return trip to Pisa, with a few hours for sightseeing.

I can't imagine how frustrated you were. We are booked on the October 14th cruise mainly because it overnights in Livorno. If we had our excursion cancelled to Florence within 24 hours, we would be seriously mad!

We have begun to plan our excursions for our b2b in October and are finding Azamara's excursions to be very expensive. We can book a private excursion for 2 to 6 people for a lot less money. The hard part is finding people to join a tour when the roll calls on Azamara are so small. Hopefully, the roll calls will pick up soon.
