  1. I'm with Jeff on this one, firstly, why would you hold every officer responsible for something that it entirely out of their hands? Did the officers you're calling for to be sacked plan and budget what occurred in dry dock? I Think probably not. It seems to me a like an ill thought out overreaction. I Feel so sorry for the crew that have to deal with the seemingly constant dissatisfaction on board especially whilst their hands are so tied. Please be nice to the crew, it's often not their fault that things have gone wrong.

  4. I’m not quite sure I understand your post. Monopole is a Heidsieck brand. Heidseck was founded in 1785 and whilst being a known name in Europe, Monopole Blue Top isn’t particularly well regarded.
  5. What JimDee said. They do seem to be having a few problems with their transition from being a luxury cruise line to being a luxury cruise line. Could you maybe cancel and slip in a shorter cruise to test the water before committing to such a gamble?
  6. I Hope you love them as much as I do Lirio. I’ve somehow managed to snag front row tickets at the Royal Albert hall on St George’s day next April to see them. Can’t wait.
  7. One of my current musical obsessions is Scott Bradlees Postmodern Jukebox. They take popular songs, mash em up a bit, rearrange them and play them in a completely different style. Here are some of my favourites but he has produced hundreds. Well worth a look on YouTube if you enjoy. I Love his sense of humour.

  14. I’m sorry to hear of your experience so far. Could you maybe offer a little more detail on why your Butler was horrible, the troubled dinner in la Terraza etc? I Hope things improve from here on in.

The Parallel is a line that had a loyal following quickly expanded way beyond a capacity that they could fill either with their existing clientele or organic expansion of their client base and had to dumb down, reduce standards and attract a new type of client to fill the ships. I Wasn't comparing the lines, just their business decisions.
  17. This is exactly what has gone wrong with P&O. They’ve added new “huge” ships that their loyal client base do not want to sail on resulting in them advertising heavily “All inclusive holidays for £599” etc. Needless to say their new clientele are new to cruising to say the least, it’s evident in the number of brawls taking place onboard since the changes. One pool attendant even got glassed by one of their new guests. I’m sure their shareholders are happy for now though.
  18. I Really don’t mean to be unkind but he sounds like he has no comprehension of his new charge. Either he has no understanding of the passengers, their loyalty and indeed the entire ethos that has built the brand or he doesn’t care a jot about any of the above and believes that his new demographic will be more profitable. The MSC model such as seen on their “Medi-go-round” routes with daily pick ups and repetitive 7 day itins really isn’t what SS is about. The corporate speak and language used also seems to be more about pleasing the shareholders and the trade. This was an interview given to a trade publication, so we have to allow some leeway but it doesn’t bode well.

  22. I Just asked elsewhere about this. It's really annoying. CruiseCritic have never been brazen about the fact that the whole reason that these boards exist is because the site is supported and funded by a company that ultimately wants to sell you a cruise but spamming us repeatedly changes things considerably. Please make it stop.
  23. Lovely Soup Jeff, the old Jewish penicillin is the best. Is anybody else getting a tirade of pop-ups on CruiseCritic or is it just me? Every new page I'm opening I'm getting a really annoying pop-up (the same one every time) that I've no interest in.
  24. That sounds like a person with a rampant personality disorder who’s somehow managed to acquire a list of clients that aren’t fit to manage their own affairs. A match made in heaven.
