  1. Of course, HH sees it now.......just.

How old are you ? 12

Cartwheels in front of Cinerella's castle at Walt Disney World !!!

How silly of ho hum. A photo of a person upside down spinning thro the air in front of a castle one mile away. And how could HH possibly not know the location ? There are so many signs (somewhere if you have high resolution eye sight).

Are you sure you booked the right cruise line ?

    Just Kiddin'......please no offence meant.

HH did help about the wine did'nt he...he's not all evil (unlike Ragnar Wendy Dagnar-something).

Sorry HH could'nt make photo out but it looked like.......

Offense? (spelled the American way of course) I have very thick skin and a wicked sense of humor.

I am 12 mentally perhaps? Keeps me young. My energy draws all the young at heart and lighthearted to me.. My very serious line of work causes me to be quite NOT serious outside of it. No one steals my joy. ;)

  2. A chap named Maria???

Well perhaps in the UK Maria is a male name?? :D And yes HoHum I saw that in your profile. Jamie Goode, Jancis Robinson....all esteemed wine names from that side of the pond. We do have posters from England and France and Italy on our wine boards btw.

I plan on drinking most of what I bring by the glass by the pool. or in my room....corkage is a dirty word. Only bringing a few bottles. Bubble wrap is my friend and I'm used to travelling with wine.

I'm lucky to live in a state where we have alot of BYOB restaurants so that's usually what my friends and I do.. I rarely buy off a wine list unless I'm in NYC and I go to a place where my friend is the Somm.

Thank you for your advice on the wine list; I appreciate it!

  3. Thanks Jim! I know they're all inclusive. With wine I'm a little selective in what I"ll drink. And they may have lots of choices on the included list I'll enjoy. But just in case, I always like to bring a couple bottles just to have some of my favorites along. I'm thinking my favorite grower champagne Egly Ouriet, an awesome Jolie Laide trousseau gris and a beautiful Tenuta le Calcinaie Vernaccia di San Gimignano. They would be perfect on a hot day by the pool or on a sunbed, or enjoyed with fresh oysters. Ahh....I'm there already in spirit. :)

  4. As someone else pointed out not all (not many?) of us are the thin, faintly tan, heterosexual couple pictured in the SD ads. :D

Looking forward to meeting you. Not looking forward to seeing you and your mother remain on the ship when we get off after one week! It's on my goal list to do a B2B.

Remember when you walk up to the ship not to expect much from outward appearances. Even onboard the decoration is very simple and the hues peaceful. Compared to bigger, newer ships it can be quite a shock. Just pretend your dotty old uncle has invited you to stay on his old private yacht.

And let the differences win you over.

    Or not.

We met and sailed on SD with a new couple and they didn't care for it. No kids or anything incendiary like that, just not their style/speed. We are still friends.

Some in my group have done the active hikes before and really have enjoyed them. You'll have to tell me what you think.

I'll be sitting in my chair.

    :D

Hello FPebbles! May l call you Fruity? Or do u prefer Pebbles? As you can see in my signature I've been on a variety of lines on ships of all sizes. For me it's never about the ship per se but about the people and the experiences. I've been on old ships, river boats, behemoths. I've backpacked thru Europe damn it.

I'm not very picky, don't complain about things. I'm looking to experience life on my "dotty old uncle's yacht" damn it! And no one or anything will take away from that enjoyment; if anything, it just makes for good stories and a good laugh! Bring on the kids, the teens, the nasty curmudgeons. I'll lead them all in a conga line on deck. I love life, love to laugh....wicked, wicked sense of humor. Join me will you?

Oh and I love wine. I dabble in collecting.. Let's share a bottle or two shall we?:)

Do a search for my "Tablemate from hell" post from the Radisson Diamond many years ago.. I just reread it myself. Not THAT was a dinner to remember!

  5.

Either Sea Dream shoreside management are simply incompetent of creating a policy or cynically wish to gain revenue by whatever means even ignoring the way they promote the product (couples: and no reference to children).

    Most likely it is both.

They are un-concerned either by the effect on passengers, paying a lot of money or the problems it creates for the crew !

    .

Hmmmm..........Should my mother and I pretend we're a *COUPLE*? LMAO!! All righty then... :D

  6. Just wanted to say hi! Been eyeing up Sea Dream for years and finally am taking the plunge. Friends of ours are frequent SD cruisers and are just as excited that we are going.

Wondering if any of you will be on our sailings? It's my mom (69) and I (52). We are on SDII leaving Marigot on 3/14/15 and returning to St Thomas on 3/28/15.

Just to get it out for the record, I love kids and teens! LOL :D;):p And I look forward to hanging out with them on our cruises. :D

Anyone do any of the active hikes listed under the port activities? They sound awesome.

  7. The Amerikanis was the first ship that I cruised on..back in 1983. Loved it so much that I cruised it again in 1984. I was a chaperone (I was in mid 20's at the time) for 2 high school Senior cruises. She was a grand old ship and I had a grand time.

As one can read from my sig line, I cruised her as a teen with my family. There were lots of other teens on board and we had a blast! Of course this was before "kids clubs." We didn't need them then, and my kids don't need them now. We all made our own fun. :-)
