Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We are booked on a 14 day Alaska cruise with Seabourn departing late June 2025. We are looking at the Ventures by Seabourn excursion/activity programme offered and there a number of Zodiac trips available at: - Hubbard Glacier - Inian Islands - Tracy/Endicott Arm - Rudyerd Bay (Misty Fjords) - Alert Bay We would be interested to hear from those who have done this trip about which they thought were the best and the "must dos" Thank you in advance
  2. Thank you markamdjie - yes, time spent at the observatory is likely the difference, though it's not clear at all from the descriptions. I am still waiting for Seabourn to come back to me.
  3. shark b8 - thank you for sharing this - it looks wonderful!
  4. That's reassuring to hear - thank you Nancy for taking the time to reply. I appreciate it
  5. We are cruising in Alaska with Seabourn in Summer 2025. The shore excursions are available to book now and we want to secure a couple now, so we don't miss out. The Ventures excursions however aren't showing yet and it may be that we later see something we like more. I see that you can cancel excursions up to boarding and receive a full refund to the credit card. Please could anyone tell me - is it easy to cancel and can it be done online or do you need to call Seabourn to do so? Grateful for any advice or insight from seasoned Seabourn cruisers as we are first timers! Thank you
  6. We are on Seabourn Quest 14 day Alaska itinerary departing June 27, 2025. There are 2 Anan Bear watching excursions - the descriptions are very similar, they both last 5 hours, but the Wild Bears of Anan is $700 and Anan Bear Watch by Jet-Boat is $550. Please could anyone who has travelled on Seabourn and done either of these excursions enlighten us?! Thanks in advance
  7. yep - that's what my research was showing me, but good to have it confirmed by a local! Weather v wildlife - that's the dilemma!! Thanks for responding
  8. Oh thank you Dolcevita Diva! That's encouraging! I really appreciate you posting this
  9. Thank you everyone for all your useful perspectives and experiences. We are likely going to arrange flights ourselves but fly out early to give us a couple of clear days in Seattle, to get over the jet lag and give us time to play with if anything goes awry with the flights.
  10. We are planning our first Alaska cruise. Would be interested in advice about best time to travel for weather (understand its very changeable!) and wildlife viewing (bears and whales of most interest) - first 2 weeks of July or first 2 weeks of August? Thank you
  11. We are in the UK and looking at a Cunard Alaska cruise in 2025 departing Seattle. We would be interested in other cruisers experience of arranging flights through Cunard. Do they offer better value than arranging yourself? It would be business class flights. Any advice would be great - thank you!
  12. We are travelling for the first time with Silversea this Summer, in the Med. We would welcome any information about Silversea run shuttles from cruise ports to towns, particularly in Barcelona. Typically, how long after arrival in port are you able to disembark and get into town? We are looking to book tickets for own sightseeing and at our own pace in a couple of ports. Thank you for any insight
  13. We have just paid the balance on our June 15th cruise and have been able to make dinner reservations etc. Does anyone have any further update on potential cancellations please?
