@jelayne mentioned she did see pre-cooked burgers in the buffet…

Regarding the unwarranted “advice” and snide comments, that is quite common in these forums…Take them with a grain of salt…but leave some salt on your margarita glass rim! 😉

    Enjoy!

I did see @jelayne mention seeing pre cooked burgers, but so many responses in the other direction still made me question. Hopefully they are right and others weren't paying attention. Also, I do like the idea that burgers are available on childrens menus so should be no big deal for an adult. Funny thing is I don't see the children's menu on the app. Guess you have to ask for one in dinning rooms.

I know, take snide comments with a big grain of salt. I try. LOL. Depends on the day. LOL. I love a pool side Margarita! No salt. My doctor would kill me. LOL.

Re having 'their own line in the sand'....and 100% sure....IMO there's no such thing in life as 100% sure of what you're getting, so it's a crap shoot in some respects.  But just tell us in plain English why we're not getting what we 'thought' we were paying for.  Then we can accept or not.

If you have already paid, that just stinks. But maybe for the future you consider other options. I know I would.

  3. If the issue is important to you, then maybe consider other cruise lines. Everyone has there own individual "line in the sand". I wouldn't pay for something that I wasn't 100% sure I would be getting. Or maybe just book a different category where the issue wouldn't matter. But if something is important to someone, then it's important. Personally I respect that. However, since you can't fight city hall, go over your acceptable options.

They did bingo on our cruise last week. The jackpot was $500 casino credit. So basically, they give the winner a credit that they hope will be lost in the casino. No thanks. I remember the days when prizes were cash.

It's sounds like Royal Caribbean. I'm pretty sure you can just play a buck of the credit in a machine and then cash out for the rest in cash.

I check this morning to see if Celebrity decided to finally add discounts on the adds to our upcoming sailing on the Reflection. When I opened the site, it indeed said up to 35% off adds. Which clearly showed the classic drink package at 57.99 and premier at 67.99. However, when you click on the package it goes back to full price?? Is this just a glitch? I checked tonight and it is still showing full price.

Discounts are showing for me in app, but not website. Clearly problems.

One more thing.  If you want something that you do not see on the menu, ask for it.  Celebrity staff has been very willing to give us special requests and dietary requirements when asked.  You will find that getting a hamburger in the MDR is not that difficult and is a common request of the few children on board.

True. I never even thought about a special request. (Don't like to be a pain) But if it's on children menu, shouldn't be to much bother.

in the Main dining room just tell your waiter you want to order the burger from the kids menu which includes cheeseburgers. There is nothing wrong with an adult ordering off the kids menu, list is below. (Original Poster indicated they might want to have a burger at 8 pm)

    Entrees
    Spaghetti Bolognese
    Mac and Cheese
    Grilled Cheese Sandwich
    Mini Margarita Pizza
    Fish Fingers Lemon Parsley Mayonnaise
    Cheese Burger* with Fries
Grilled New York Strip with Mashed Potatoes

    Thanks. Great idea!

  8. Well, there's the picky eater. And there's the 55 plus person who has better luck chewing burgers than steak. LOL.

But I do like to treat myself to a burger around 8pm if I want something extra on a cruise. I don't see what's wrong with wanting and expecting that.

So it's a safe go to if all else fails for 3 out of 4 of us. Just surprised they don't have some cooked ready to take at the buffet when wanted.

Really didn't think this question would become the be all and end all.

@DennysDad:  While we don't dine at the buffet very often we have done so when returning to the ship after a long day on shore.  I don't recall seeing hamburgers at the Ocean View, but don't look for them either.  No ballpark style hot dogs but I think on German themed nights we've seen brautwursts and so forth.  There will be a pizza station and pasta station.  Large salad bar.  Offerings of Indian foods.  We've seen fish, chicken, pork chops and steaks which they cook to order.  Often have a carving station where they are carving pork loin, beef or turkey.

Kinda bummed about no burgers. Actually a little surprised too. I know it's on the room service menu. I'm starting to rethink if Celebrity will be a good fit. That's always a basic at buffets on other ships.

There isn't much for kids to do on board like the other lines you mention so often there are very few kids on Celebrity.  Also, I don't think you'll find too many on here who go to the buffet every night; we were on the Beyond about a year ago but never went to the buffet for dinner.  On other ships, they generally have nuggets/fingers in the kid's sections

On Royal chicken fingers/nuggets, burgers, and hot dogs are a big part of the adult buffet.

Just trying to make sure a picky adult eater can get a burger for dinner if all else fails. LOL.

I do get it. There doesn't seem to be many buffet folks here. Any feedback from people who have actually had dinner at the buffet is helpful. Thanks all.

I don't think I've ever seen chicken nuggets on a buffet, except in a dedicated children's area, no matter which line I've been in.

Oh I have. Royal, NCL, Carnival. Ok, some are nuggets, some fingers. Same difference. But all the big ones do.

It’s a good package, I hope you will be pleased..I usually upgrade for the higher end liquors..

Just booked. First alcohol package ever. Not big drinkers but a Margarita here and there and trying something new for fun, plus the diet coke and bottled water. $54.99 seemed like a good deal for light drinkers. Should be fun. If we don't like something we just try something else. Thanks everyone for the help.

It’s there plain as day..soda..I call it soft drinks myself (Co-Cola really)…this is in the linked package description above.

The link I was given above, I couldn't find on the website myself.

If a drink is be made with the Classic package liquors then it will be within the $10 limit.  So lots of drinks, margarita, Cosmo, pina colada, daquari, vodka with cranberry, tonic, rum & Coke, Bloody Mary, etc.

FYI the $10 limit is only for alcoholic beverages.   The included non alcohol drinks are those listed under Classic.  Things like Evian, Red Bull, vitamin water, although priced below $10 are not included in the Classic package and you would be charged the full price for those.

Only would be interested in soda and bottled water, aside from some alcohol drinks.

  15. Does this package include soda?

Also, says includes drinks up to $10 price on menu. How much are average prices on drinks? Margarita, Cosmopolitan, etc? Do I have to pay the difference on every drink even after buying a package?

It's on sale for $54.99 and seems like a good price but not sure about the $10 limit and if it includes soft drinks etc? Help!

  16. I booked Beyond with Next cruise on Royal. They said 6pm or 830pm dinning. We picked 6pm. I get there are 4 MDR. But what one to go to what night and what time is now very confusing after reading all this. I'm lost. LOL.
