  1. Tks. Was afraid this would be the case. Was hoping that our "to go" cup would be allowed. Extends the "cruise" feeling a little longer even after we disembark. We won't be in a hurry to get anywhere. Therefore, weather permitting, we have plans to allow our kids to watch the cruise ships a bit before we leave the cruise terminal. Thanks!
  2. Great! Thanks!! It's awesome being a Canadian ... so long as you have passport, easy entry requirements to the USA.
  3. Thank you. Exactly the info I was looking for, Appreciate the detailed explanation.
  4. Hi, 1) Anyone know how early "All OnBoard Time" is scheduled for Alaskan Cruise? To clarify: If departure time is scheduled for "X" time, how early (eg. 1 hour, 1.5 hours, 2 hours etc.) is the "All OnBoard Time"? If it helps, our info is as follows: Ruby Princess (7 days roundtrip from Vancouver to Alaska / Glacier Bay Itinerary) Ports: Juneau, Skagway & Ketichan 2) While in Alaska, does the cruise ship have their own ship time OR is ship time the same as the local Alaskan time? I understand that we have to either change our time forward or backward by 1 hour depending if we're heading north or south. I don't want to be a pier runner because I confused ship time and local time. Thanks!
  5. Hi Everyone, First time cruising. Extremely excited. We're departing Vancouver, BC for Alaska (7 nights / Round Trip). We're Canadian. Just confirming that we ONLY need our Canadian Passport to cruise to Alaska? Departing from Vancouver, BC to Alaska for 7 night round trip. I'm assuming it's the same requirements as if we flew or drove from Canada to USA. Only travel document required is a Canadian Passport? Thanks for your help and calming my nerves. I'm an overly anxious person. One of my biggest fears is that I'm not correctly understanding the travel documents requirements to board an Alaskan cruise from Vancouver, BC. Thanks!
  6. Hi, We have Plus CRUISE Package. 1) How do we disable purchase privileges for my children's accounts? 2) I read somewhere that it's possible to lock off the purchase ability on children's accounts? 3) Is this done by myself via the Ocean Now APP or is this something done by guest services? 4) If done by guest services, can it be done via Chat with guest services OR must I make a physical visit to guest services? Reason: I bought Plus CRUISE Package for my children for their freedom (order drinks as desired) and my convenience (did not want to police, worry or keep track of each individual drink ordered). However, since it's still possible to incur extra charges when you have a Plus Cruise Package (eg. room service items that are extra cost, large bottles of water instead of the included smaller bottles etc.), I want to ensure that we do not encounter these types of situations. Therefore, I wish to "disable purchase privileges" on my children's account. Thanks!
  7. Thanks for this info. We have similar situation as yours: * 2 cabins * Each person has individual OBC * Wish to combine all 4 individual OBC into "1" lump sum OBC * Using same credit card for each person so same credit card for the 2 cabins Based on your experience: * Ask Guest Services to combine the "4" individual OBC into "1" lump sum OBC and "transfer" the combined OBC amount to "1" person? Or to "1" cabin? * Once done, the "1" person? Or "1" cabin? will have access to the combined OBC amount. 1) Is my understanding correct? Thanks. 2) Also ... did you physically go to see a Guest Services agent OR did you chat with a Guest Services agent via Ocean Now App? Thanks!
  8. Thanks for the suggestion. Appreciate you confirming that the curtain will work. Since the walk in closet area is so large, might as well utilize it as a change room by rigging up a curtain.
  9. Oh no ... don't want that. Thanks for the warning!! Yikes!
  10. Hi Everyone, We have Plus CRUISE Package. 1) When dining in the MDR how do we order our drinks? * Best to pick up our drinks at a bar enroute to MDR? I read that sometimes ordering drinks in MDR takes a long time. * Order through the wait staff? Is this quicker than ordering via Ocean Now? * Order via Ocean Now for delivery to MDR? Does this take a long time? 2) What about Shows? * Self pick up enroute to show? * Order via Ocean Now for delivery to show? Does this take a long time? Thanks!
  11. Hi Everyone, Please share your experiences. Favourite Bar or Drink on the Ruby Princess? Thanks! Cheers!
  12. Thanks for the info! Great minds think alike. Mimosa & Specialty Coffees ... that is our plan too! I don't drink but my husband drinks so he may like to have a farewell Mimosa. As for the specialty coffee ... if we're able to get it in a "to go" cup, are we allowed to disembark the ship with the coffee or must we finish or throw it away? Does Vancouver have the same rules about not bringing off the ship any food or beverage (other than packaged snacks or bottled water)? We're constantly running late so if no "to go" cups of coffee are allowed off the ship in Vancouver then we need to plan to get our coffee earlier so we have enough time to finish it. Thanks!
  13. Thank you! So very kind of you! Appreciate your assistance!
  14. Thanks for the info everyone. I was hoping there would be no ledge but I assumed there would be ... to help prevent water leaking out of the bathroom? I'm bringing a door wedge (door stopper) as I would like to keep the bathroom door propped open when I shower. EDITED here: slow typer also 🤣 6" ledge ... I don't think my door wedge is "tall" enough to keep bathroom door wedged open. Any ideas how I may keep the door propped open? I know ... weird thing to do but the bathrooms are so small and I'm so big ... I would like a more roomy, less claustrophobic feeling to the bathroom when I use it. Plus ... propped open door will allow bath shower steam to escape. We're bringing our favourite Eucalyptus & Spearmint shower gel (you guessed it ... B&B Works). It's so relaxing every time we use it and would love for this scent to permeate the cabin. It puts us in a happy place! In case anyone is wondering about privacy issues ... since the ceilings are metal, I intend to stick magnetic hooks to the ceiling and hang a privacy curtain from the ceiling (at the opening of the walk in closet). This is the grand master plan I formulated in my imagination. I'll have to see if I'm able to execute it in real life. 🤣 Thanks again!
  15. Hi Everyone, Sorry ... weird question. Does anyone have a photo of the Bathroom door (Caribe deck 10 / Ruby Princess)? Specifically, I'm trying to determine if there's a raised BOTTOM ledge which needs to be stepped over before entering the bathroom. I recall reading to be careful of the raised ledge? Also, how high is the ledge (if there's a raised ledge)? Thanks!
  16. Hi Everyone! Apologies first for the repetition of "Plus Cruise Package" as I'm trying to make a clear distinction between "Plus CRUISE Package" and the "Plus DRINKS Package". 🙂 Recent Cruisers on Ruby Princess (2024 Alaska) who had Princess Plus CRUISE Package: 1) Embarkation Day: a) Does the WIFI & Drinks portion of the Plus Cruise Package become effective as soon as you embark? b) Once you step aboard the ship, do you need to "tap in" the medallion in order to activate the WIFI & Drinks portion of the Plus Cruise Package or does it "automatically" activate? c) I understand that some departure locations (eg. Texas?) are required by law to charge taxes on the drinks while docked in port. This is true despite cruisers having the Plus Cruise Package. For those who have Plus Cruise Package, does Vancouver departure port charge any additional taxes (or other fees) for drinks while docked in port? I intend to check my folio frequently (as recommended here by Cruise Critic Pros) and don't want to be alarmed if I see additional taxes or fees for embarkation day drinks. 2) Debarkation Day: a) I believe that the Plus Cruise Package (alcohol portion) is set for this time period: 6:00 am to 6:00 am. b) I understand that cruisers have reported different experiences. For those 2024 cruisers who had Plus Cruise Package, please share your experiences AND please advise which ship you sailed on: * For drinks ordered past 6:00 am on Debarkation Day were you charged for these drinks? * What drinks did you order? Alcoholic? Non-Alcoholic? * Is the drinks portion of the Plus Cruise Package valid on Debarkation Day (regardless of time even past 6:00 am) until you physically disembark the ship? Valid for BOTH alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks? Thanks for your help!
  17. Good morning everyone! First time Princess cruiser and first time posting on Cruise Critic Forum. 🙂 We're sailing soon on the Ruby Princess and we're very excited! Please excuse my numerous questions to come during the next month. To keep myself organized, I intend to post by topic rather than list all my questions on one post. Apologies for the "flood" of posts to come. Many thanks and much gratitude in advance for your kind assistance and expert advice! 🙂🙏 Can anyone please post photos of the ENTIRE "7 Day" 2024 Events List (formerly Princess Patter) for the following? * 7 Day Alaskan Cruise (Glacier Bay Itinerary) for Ruby Princess * Current 2024 sailings departed from Vancouver Note: or please post photos of the entire "7 Day" events list for any 2024 Princess Cruise that departed Vancouver for Alaska. I'm assuming that the schedules on other "7 Day" Alaskan Princess Cruises would be similar to the "7 Day" Alaskan Ruby Princess Cruise. Thanks for your help!
