  1. I have searched the forum for answer but have not seen anything specific.  We have not sailed with Princess before.  Even on other ships, we never book ship excursions, preferring private companies.

However, we will probably book an excursion in Trinidad through Princess.  I have looked at the official cancellation policy and I do understand it, but it says that the cancellation time will be printed on the ticket.  I want to know it before I book.

How can I find out the cancellation period for this particular excursion?  Am I just missing it?

    Thanks for the help.

  2. We have done Anytime dining on our last number of cruises on other cruise lines.  Sometimes we do make reservations in the morning.  We have been able to make reservations for 6:30 which I understand is not possible on Princess.  We only want table for 2 because my husband has a slight hearing disability so he finds it stressful to be in a group that you really must converse with.  So, if we chose late seating in Traditional but found that we were missing some events and wanted to change to Anytime, would that be easier than changing from Anytime to Traditional if we were having trouble getting a table for 2 ?

I just got back from a B2B aboard Golden Princess a couple of days ago.  (Yes I did have a great cruise!)

There were two of us in our cabin -- a regular BE balcony (A630). The cabin had only one chair in the room: the desk chair.  On the balcony were the two outdoor chairs.

I did not expect to see the barrel chair in the room, given the helpful reports here on CC.
(On my prior cruise ending the first week of January -- on Ruby, my unobstructed "obstructed" oceanview cabin still had a barrel chair in addition to the desk chair.)

On this trip aboard Golden, before my steward was available to meet on the first day, I stopped at Guest Services and requested a second indoor chair for the cabin. The rep said that this request would be forwarded to my steward.

I later met my steward before dinnertime.  The steward had not received the chair request, but confirmed that barrel chairs (which he refers to as tub chairs) are gone from Golden.*
*At least from regular balcony cabins and lower categories, was my guess.

-- Later on Day 1, after late dinner --

I returned back to the cabin to find that our awesome steward was able to secure a second chair for us:

We used both chairs every day, to actually sit in.

This was our setup for early morning coffee (and sometimes IC's almond croissant) before heading out later for breakfast or elsewhere:

So, even if there are no barrel chairs to be found, if you want a second indoor chair there may be other chairs available aboard that might work for you.

RSS:  Thank you for that information.  This was SO much more helpful than all the zillion rants currently on the board re the Barrel Chair.  You were Proactive!

    All the best, Ellen

  4. To me that is a strange Embarkation Lunch menu.  Been on many ships (although first time on Princess) and always had the lunch in DR, when available.   We will be fine because my DH loves Trout and I am very happy with the Tenderloin.   There is always chicken available for those who are not fond of fish and don't eat red meat.  I know that there is a pasta but still, not as inclusive as I am used to.  Looking forward to the dessert!

    Following.

    Enjoy.

The Roadway is a motel not too far from the airport, our room was clean, there was a nice pool and a bar/restaurant adjacent to  the property.  They offer complementary rides to the cruise port and airport and did provide rides for a fee during off hours.  But the best part for us was a place to shower, freshen up, store our luggage and take an Uber to Riverside for some sight seeing  and lunch, made for an enjoyable day.

We have a reservation for a day room at Rodeway.  Did you call the hotel when you disembarked?  Any problems with the shuttle?

  6. Well, I have to say that I am just a little concerned re vibration.  I really liked the location of our cabin for the same reasons most do.  But, do I want to "shake', even slightly, for 2 weeks??????  Dear me!  Not sure what to do.  Seems that most of the talk re vibration is in the past few weeks.  If we stay in this aft area cabin, I will report back but our cruise isn't for a few months yet.  Thanks for the info.
