Hi all,
If any of you have toured with Joyce, you know what a great person she is and how much she loves her island. I finally heard back from her last night and she is well but lost the roof on her home, her office, most of her possessions and had damage to her vans.
If you are interested in helping her out, please let me know and I'll send you her contact info in Florida. Her brother lives there and is going to buy supplies and get them to her.
She truly asks that everyone send their prayers!

Agree - it's the only Princess ship going all the way 'round South America and through the Canal this winter. And posters like partybarbie and others give me encouragement that it will be fine. Sure, if I could pick any Princess ship to do this trip, I'd have picked something else, but the trip is the thing and the ship will be fine. I just want it to have good staff.
We are in the same boat, so to speak! (Pun intended!) The Island is the only ship doing partial transit at a time when we can go on the cruise. So, that's what we'll do. It may not be our first choice of ship, but we really want to do this itinerary at this time, so the Island it is!

Is that the pirate one?
Yes, it is. Looks like they only do evening tours.
We are in Key West on Christmas Day so I'm not sure there will be many tours running.
-
Has anyone done the Key West Foodie, Drink, and History tour?

We did Lyft from the Miami port to FLL and it was just under $40. Same from FLL to our hotel in Miami in the Brickell neighborhood. This was at the end of July.
-
We're booked on this cruise on Brilliance for next July. Thanks for all the great info papaflamingo! I've been going back and forth over oceanview or balcony- we book oceanview cabins routinely unless a balcony is a great deal.

Just got off the Equinox last weekend. We loved the ship. The crew is always cleaning and making sure that she looks her best. My only problem was with the chairs on deck 5. They definitely need to have the cushions replaced- many with holes and very worn.
Cabin was in great shape as were all of the other public areas.

SHIP: Equinox
CABIN #: 1208
DECK #: 10
CLASS: C1
AREA: Aft
BED NEAR: Bathroom
QUIET?: Very!
BALCONY VIEW: Aft
BALCONY SIZE: standard
WIND A PROBLEM?: No
SOOT A PROBLEM?: No
This was a great cabin! Be aware that it's a long walk to the back of the ship, even from the aft stairs and elevator. This was not a problem for us, but might be if you have mobility issues.

My husband and I ARE ON THE JULY 23RD CRUISE FROM MIAMI
BEEN CRUISIN BEFORE BUT NOT ON CELEBRITY
We are in an Aft ( always prefer these cabins) on the 8 th floor
Would love one upper.. but not available
Love to meet people at
the bar - we love having fun with bartenders and people
See you there
We're on this cruise too and we have a very active role call. Come on over and join us!

You don't speak for all of us seasoned cruisers. We loved the ship, sailed on her before and after the refit.
And with 55 Princess cruises , and we have sailed on every Princess ship . I wouldn't call it my favorite ship, but had a really nice cruise experience while on board.
Thanks for saying what I was thinking!! Looking forward to our Island cruise next year!

Is this a no brainer, or what??? CORAL!!
Unfortunately we don't have a choice, as Island is the only ship doing this itinerary when we can sail. Hopefully, more of those folks who have good feelings about the Island will chime in here as well.

We've booked ocean view cabins for our next three Princess sailings. Two would be covered under the time frame for S & S. To upgrade to a balcony with the AIBP would be $1800 more for our 14 day cruise on the Crown and $660 more for our 10 day cruise on Island in December 2018. We didn't feel the need for balconies and don't think there's any way that would be worth it for us just to get a free beverage package.
Hopefully the 3 for Free promotion will come out afterwards and cover our oceanview cabins!

Take a look at Spoon Food Tours. We did a cooking class with them in January. Not sure if they're offering it on the day you're there, but worth a look. http://www.spoonfoodtours.com

Spoons would be my choice.
We've done several tours with Spoon Food tours and loved each. Also did Flavors of San Juan but found Spoon Food to be better.
-
Unfortunately the only time we can cruise the Panama Canal is when the Island is the ship going there. I wonder if it's worth waiting until there's a better time for us on another ship???

I have been thinking about this as well for our Equinox cruise in July. We will definitely upgrade my husband to the Premium package, as he will most likely drink enough to make up the difference. I will not- upgrading for one martini a night will not cover the extra money, so I plan to just pay as I go for my drinks.
The upgrade costs $11.80 per day, so that would mean I'd need to have several drinks on the premium package to cover that.

I know the 6 dinner package usually sells for $192. Do you know how long the 20% off sale is going on? Or is it just for Equinox?
It was fleetwide, but not sure when it ended. I don't see it on the website today.

I just booked the 6 dinner package for our cruise on Equinox in July. At $154 per person for 6 dinners, it comes to just over $25 a meal. I thought that was a great deal, and figure I can get a BOGO for meal #7.

Norris,
I have read so many of your reviews and just want to thank you for all the wonderful pictures and information. My husband is into photography as well so I've passed along your camera suggestions and several of the pictures to him as well.
I choose option 2...

I just got back from 5 nights in San Juan. Never saw a single insect! This isn't mosquito season. That being said, I wouldn't bring my pregnant daughter there. But, if you aren't even contemplating pregnancy, I wouldn't worry.

We are sailing on the Rhapsody on the 28th with the same itinerary. Do you remember if they changed times to local or were you on ship's time the whole way?
We were on the 12/24 cruise and we remained on ship's time the whole cruise.

I know it's an all inclusive but is there anything there you need cash for (other than tipping)? Messages? Thanks
Massages were available at $25 cash for 30 minutes. Definitely worth it!
-
We just got back from a port stop in Costa Maya and went to Maya Chan. From reservation to the end of the day it was a fantastic time!
The people and food are amazing as are the facilities.
-
The freestyle machines were installed by noon the day after boarding. one on each side of the windjammer and one on deck 6 by ben and jerry's.
I don't think these are new menus.
compasses I uploaded to http://**********/a/maH2Q
Not sure how to access these?
