  1. Hi Sean,

Here is a wonderful LIVE review on the Millennium. ENJOY!

    https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2674945

Looks like you got the 'good' shows. On Solstice at the end of August we got the 'new, improved' shows which were, in our opinion and virtually everybody we talked with, terrible. Loud and louder with most songs screamed at us and with very contrived choreography. A couple of 'variety acts' that were pretty good, and a break from the loud.

  2. We will be cruising on the Eclipse in March and this will be the first time traveling with a CPAP machine- 2 questions- what do you do about using distilled water for the machine and is the cord long enough to reach the plug?

    Myrna

I second all that has been said. I have also - without a reply - urged RCCL to put an outlet near the beds on all new ships and during room re-doing for just this.

  3. I have been at the Scotch tastings. They do offer some very rare stuff and it is worth it if you already know Scotch and know how to 'taste' it.

That being said, my favorite has not been named because it is really an acquired taste - Laphroaig, especially the Quarter Cask. The prices are, for that level, quite reasonable.

  4. I have both sizes which I purchased through Cruise Critic. They are great and, IMO, the only way to go.I printed out our tags and all are installed ready to go for our August 24 cruise on Solstice. The other size has been used on Carnival.

  5. You are probably in violation of the rules if you bring your own extension cord. Celebrity will provide one for the asking.

Extension cords are no problem. Multi-outlets with a circuit breaker are a no-no. They can be a fire hazard. I have a long, heavy duty extension cord with three outlets on the end and have had no problems at all with it.

  6. Looking at either the Miracle or Breeze this coming October. 7 day Western with basically the same ports except one. Was on the Magic last August and really enjoyed it. Never had a problem finding a place to lounge or play games with the family. Did not ever have problems with crowds or lines. I know the Miracle is smaller and less capacity but does it feel crowded? Are there public spaces to just getaway or play games besides the library?

We spent the better part of two weeks on the Miracle from Long Beach to Hawaii and never felt crowded except one time. They decided to show an NFL playoff game only in one small lounge and they had probably 350 people in a lounge designed for maybe 50 before it was finally decided to put the game on the room TV's. BTW - nearly everybody stayed and partied!

  7. My mom and I are cruising on the Carnival Dream March 11. Can anyone tell me if they still arrange times for bridge players to meet. I know she'd enjoy that on sea days. Thanks!

We were on a 'Journeys' cruise from Long Beach to Hawaii. We tried our best to find/arrange a bridge game with no luck. Nothing was ever said and we could not get Customer Service to put anything in the 'Fun Times'. Sorry.

  8. Based on your signature you were on a Carnival Splendor cruise 8 years ago and a Celebrity cruise last year. Your observations are from 2 or 3 days on your Carnival cruise and your few sea days on your Celebrity cruises.

Actually, I am basing my thoughts on several Celebrity cruises, including a Trans Atlantic and a recent Hawaii cruise on Miracle with 8 sea days. Even the crew members at the Future Cruises Desk, right outside the casino hated it. Why is so much space dedicated for so small a percentage, but a very vocal percentage of people? Flame proof suit back on...

  9. Personally like the newer and bigger ships with more bells and whistles but have enjoyed our cruises on the Miracle

We prefer ships of this size. Our preference in Celebrity is the Millennium class which is about the same size as the Miracle. The only 'bell and whistle' that might interest me would be the bumper cars on a couple of mega ships. Other than that, we really like the slightly smaller ones. Just wish Miracle had really gotten Fun 2.0 instead of 1.5 during its drydock. Heck, even Inspiration got things that Miracle did not(!?). If Blue Iguana and Guy's can fit on that boat and its sisters, why not Miracle?

  10. Loved the Miracle, maybe my favorite ship. Great food, probably the best. Unfortunately, the weather sucked! Missed 2 ports, Kuwaii and Hilo. Worse than that, only got 1 day of sunbathing on the deck. Had a 30mph headwind all the way to Hawaii + all the way back. So, all the upper decks closed, lounge chairs stacked + strapped. Only ones avail were on serenity or lido + they were takin my 8am. Was really looking forward to 10 sea days, but not like these. Not Carnivals fault, but if you're considering this cruise, it's VERY important consideration. :(

We were right with you. Thank goodness we made it into Honolulu. I am retired military and the Arizona has been on my list forever. The military afternoon in the theater was wonderful with even one WWII vet in attendance. We must have had over 200 men and women on stage for the final picture!

  11. Live from the Miracle. Spotted at breakfast and lunch rush with tables at a premium:

One person at a table for 4 enjoying his/her coffee while reading or playing with phone.

Tables for four or six with dominoes, cards or chess going on.

Again, this was during the breakfast or lunch rush with people trying to find a place to sit and eat.

Is this you? If so, may the bluebird of happiness leave a large deposit on your head.

    Dan
