  1. I received it and gambled for the first time about 4 months ago on allure of the seas. Gamble about 300 worth for the week. My sister who gambled way mire than me didn't get it

Interesting. I received it and didn't gamble a lot. Pointswise I was only up to the level for a $5 refund. My hubby, who gambled even less than me, did not receive the email. Maybe they are targeting a little lower level than typical but not as little as my hubby played. [emoji848]

  2. We have booked a southern Caribbean cruise on the Jewel for next February out of San Juan.

We have sailed this route in Carnival and decided to pay the bit extra to try RC, hoping for a tad more luxury.

The latest bunch of reviews (even since drydock) are quite negative. Not enough chairs was a very common thread, the same few movies playing all week, poor food quality.....the recent reviews are from sailings in the Mediterranean, is that a factor?

I am wondering if this was a good decision.

Am I understanding that the solarium is left covered even on hot days on the Caribbean??? Is the food that mediocre? (I wasn't planning on paying more for specialty dining).

Any feedback that will make me feel more positive?

    Thanks for your feedback!

On my August 2013 cruise the solarium was left covered. I found it cold in there and would have preferred it opened.

  3. One device package is fine. You are allowed one device logged on the wifi at a time for the one device package. Two devices can be logged in at a time with the two device package and so on.

Just remember to type logout.com in the web browser of the device you are using when you want to switch devices.

We didn't type anything on Liberty to switch between devices. We just turned wifi off and then would log on a different device. No problem.

  4. Where are you traveling out of? Definitely not a problem to bring it on Liberty out of Galveston 2 weeks ago. Also, there are water dispensers in various places. We took a refillable water bottle and put water into the cups they provided and then poured those into our water bottle for ease in taking it back to the room.

  5. It looks like we'll be in 8584, the mirror of yours. Hoping I can ask you a couple questions...

    1. Is the smaller bathroom comparable to a standard cabin bathroom? I'm a big guy, and if it's any smaller than an OV room bathroom, I may have to use the master bath!

    2. Does the master bath ONLY have a tub, no shower at all?

    3. Is there a TV in the kids room AKA my room? :)

    4. Is there a power outlet in the kids room?

    thanks!

I can answer 2 and 3 based on our RFS on Navigator. There was a tub/shower combined in the master bathroom. Not as nice as grand suite. Both bathrooms are smaller than the one in a grand suite but doable. I am not sure of the bathroom size in an OV room. Sorry! No tv in the 2nd bedroom that I remember.

  6. Yes but the second bedroom in the RFS is small, single beds, no window and no tv.

This was not true for our RFS on Navigator last year. The beds were put together and we never saw them apart. I think they were about queen size together. For one person I wouldn't say it was too small. My daughter, who was 24 at the time, had plenty of room. She didn't find the lack of a window a problem since it was a room within a much bigger suite. TV was a nonissue as we don't usually have it on when we cruise. There were 3 of us total in the RFS and while we liked it we prefer the grand suite overall.

  7. Sadly, when we were in Cozumel 2 weeks ago and were on our way to Nachi Cocum, right in front of Paradise was a bad scooter accident. The driver passed away. It was devastating to see. I have thought about her many times since. So very sad. Scooters are dangerous there too because they drive right with the cars. It was scary to watch.

  8. Great review Ken. I do have a question in regards to the different "behind the scenes" tours. Were they just for RS & OS guests or was it offered to GS folks as well?

On our 2 previous cruises we were offered free tours based on being in a grand suite. (Both last year on Navigator and previously on Jewel.) This was not the case on Liberty. We were not offered anything. I will say that we received more deliveries in our stateroom on Liberty than we did on Navigator.

  9. Thanks for a great review! We were in a grand suite on the same cruise. I can't believe you didn't get a chocolate piano because we did! I wonder why you got missed? I agree that Carlos was only fair. We had a much better experience with Nadja on Navigator also out of Galveston last year. We were one of the suite guests who did not utilize the suite lounge much but have already decided we will next time. Our experience with the food was it was much better than Navigator last year, so that was great! Room service we called a couple of times and were told it would be 45 minutes to an hour each time. Maybe you had priority being in the Royal Suite? Glad you enjoyed your cruise! We definitely did too!

  10. We were on the same cruise in a grand suite. Loved it! Such a fabulous cruise! How crowded did you find Royal Palm? Also, we could not figure out where to meet Carlos in the art gallery for the tender. Luckily, they told us to go with a group going to the tender when they saw our gold cards. So it worked out well even though we felt a bit lost.

  11. They had it in Chops on Liberty end of April, interesting that was not moved. Wonder if it will remain in Giovanni's ? WE have GS again in April on Liberty

We were surprised too because the suite meals were also in Chops for our Navigator and Jewel cruises. Not sure why it was moved but I think Giovani's did a great job too.

  12. Liberty had lunch served only on sea days and they did offer a small menu and had a small salad bar, other days it was still reserved for suite but you had to bring in food from WJ, but waiters were still there for water and to get drinks

I didn't see even a small salad bar in Giovani's for suite guests this past week. I will say I ordered the grilled chicken and it was amazing. So juicy!

  13. Do not expect non suites to be permitted into the suite line. And they will absolutely NOT be allowed to board with suites. If you want to board together then you must wait until their boarding number is called, or wait until after general boarding has begun and you can use any line and walk right on as soon as you have checked in. With the number of Pinnacle that sail out of Galvestion, the suite/P check in line is often not any shorter than any other line.

Our suite line last week out of Galveston saved us a ton of time. We didn't get there until probably 12:30 but we were quickly through everything even though there was still a long line waiting to be checked in and we were able to have next available without any wait.
