Does anyone know if there are quarter pusher machines in the casino on Rhapsody? Not sure what they are called, but they are the machines that drop quarters over a ledge, then push more quarters hopefully to drop over another ledge. Very addicting but fun. Thanks.

I just dealt with this issue on Serenade. They will not allow another passenger in a solo cabin. (They have a twin bed) I think the reasoning for the increased prices on these cabins (only can speak for Serenade) is location. Deck 4, next to centrum, private hall

Hey guys, I'm back with good news. Without going through all the details, I finally was assigned an Interior cabin on deck 2. Yay! Thanks to all with the advice. Hopefully they will update the website on Serenade now to show the studios. Now, I can finally feel good about this cruise.
-
Any others with experience with these studios? I am claustrophobic and am getting nervous about this cruise. (Apr 29), I booked an I-GTY and this is what I was assigned. I didn't know there were studios on the ship.

Sent a follow up email to the executive at guest relations today but no response. Everytime I see a cabin available on the RCI website, I call. But same response, the interiors that are available are not in the category I booked. So I would have to upgrade. I have another thread on the RCI page titled, Dispute with credit card. I started this thread to see if any solos have ever stayed in the studio cabins on the Serenade. Not sure I can deal with 100 sq ft.

Nothing. It will be a week this Monday since I received the reply to my e-mail from executive office.

Good idea.

This is exhausting and stressful. I have been dealing with this ever since I got my cabin assignment over a week ago.
-
So, just got off the phone again with RCI. An original invoice was never sent to me because I did not request one. But he did see that I booked a category Z. Which as was explained to me, an interior cabin anywhere on ship. He even said it again to me, because I am traveling alone, a studio is all I need. I know exactly what I was purchasing, have done it many times before.
-
Not sure it would matter. The bottom line is because I am traveling solo, they felt a studio was enough to meet my needs. (In fact that is what resolutions told me last week) I wouldn't be in this mess if they had just listed studios in the booking process or anywhere in the interior cabins selection.
-
A few days after booking, I received an e mail saying my documents were in 'my cruises'on RCI website, At that time I had not been assigned a cabin so it read I-GTY.
-
I booked through the website. Nowhere on documents does it say a category. Just stateroom assigned.
-
Res doesn't say SI or IS. Just the cabin assignment. I just got off the phone again asking if we can add my husband. Off course I know we cannot occupy the studio cabin, but I suggested once something opened up, they move us. No deal. I also suggested they transfer this booking to another sail date but because I didn't purchase insurance no deal.
-
I tried to get 9005, they told me it was not available in my category. I guess because I purchased an Inside GTY, choosing a cabin becomes another category? I call everytime an inside cabin comes available. (This is what resolutions advised me to do) They say the same thing everytime; upgrade.
-
Because in my original thread I was discussing disputing the cc charge which I decided against. Is there some rule against changing gears and following up with a different title? Plus, the origiinal post was then on page 5 when I gave the update, (Don't know if that matters) As you can see, I don't usually have alot to say, so maybe I am still learning cruise critic etiquette.

Bottom line is RCI doesn't care. I pointed out to them that it is misleading to show a cabin with 165 sq ft then assign one that is 108 sq ft with a single bed up against the wall. That is probably why interior rooms for one are still available; studios that no one wants. One positive thing is that someone read my e-mail to the CEO and will be getting back with me in the next few days. (so they say)
-
The guarantee for 2 was available when I booked because I specifically asked if I added my husband, what would the charge be. RCI said just taxes and fees for second passenger.
-
I usually book Inside GTY staterooms and have never had a problem before. This problem all stems from the studios on Serenade that are not listed on their website in the booking process. If I had known that there was a chance that I could get a studio of 108 sq feet, I would have passed. So, If I want a different cabin, I have the option to upgrade to an OV GTY. The resolutions department that I dealt with last week was a total waste of energy and time because nothing has changed, They told me to keep calling to see if something opens up, which I did and it didn't matter. I am still in a studio, paying 200%. What is the point of a studio if they are the same price as a cabin that sleeps up to 3 people? Frustrated at this point.
-
Well, I am still trying to get some satisfaction on my room assignment for the Apr 29 TA on Serenade. I was told to keep calling to see if a cabin opens up which it has. 9005. But they won't assign to me because it's not an IS GTY Only option is to upgrade to an OV for another 369 dollars The way I have been treated, I am having a hard time forking out more money. I did write a letter to CEO stating how studio cabins are not mentioned in the IS GTY category or anywhere in the booking process on website. So, If I don't accomplish anything, at least I can alert others of this bait and switch from RCI

Did you pay 160% or 200% for your single supplement fee? Just curious

Thanks for all the comments. Yes, I have thought about adding the second passenger then removing the taxes and fees at no show. I think the reason the website is showing the 1367.00 price for one and over 2k for two is because they are trying to fill up the studios. When I called to ask to be put back in the pool, RCI said I would probably still be assigned the studio because I'm traveling solo. No win situation here. And everytime I call, they say I am working with the guy that originally helped (or should I say didn't help) me out. They want me to upgrade, but I don't want to give them more money.
Sushi in windjammer

Has RC done away with sushi in the windjammer? Just got off Oasis and the only sushi on the ship was in specialty dining. Have all the ships filled suit? Thanks
