  1. https://gtdiving.com/ Try booking a dive trip with Grand Turk Diving. They are excellent, will have a smaller group than the ship tour and are more reasonable. They will meet you a short walk up beach from the pier. Their Snorkeling excursions are amazing too. Every diver/snorkeler should visit the wall at least once in their life. It is so beautiful it is surreal.
  2. We received $25 cash from the casino cage on our Labor Day cruise on Liberty.
  3. My pleasure, Sanmarcosman. The T & C will always have a special place in my heart. My wife and I honeymooned on Grace Bay at Club Med. Grace Bay is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world and the entire island of Provo is a gem. Chalk Sound is one of the most visually amazing places I have ever had the pleasure to witness. The views are stunning. If anyone has the chance, spend a week on Grace Bay on Provo. It is a truly amazing place.
  4. Yes sir. Provideciales is located somewhat near the center of the archipelago, while Grand Turk is a few Island to the east. A far greater majority of the crime in T & C is in Provodenciales (Provo). And most of the violence gas been perpetrated by Jamaican drug gangs. Waged almost exclusively on those involved with them. This shooting of a tourist is an extremely isolated incident. Not to be insulting to anyone, but IMHO if you feel unsafe in GT then you probably shouldn't debark in any Caribbean or Bahamian port. Jamaica, DR, Mexico and Nassau all have much higher crime rates than the T & C. Including Provo.
  5. Think of Providenciales as being "The City" and Grand Turk as being "The Country'
  6. Dockyard bar is in Kew Town near "Downtown" Providenciales. Nowhere near Grace Bay where most tourists stay.
  7. Once again, this is on Provo, not Grand Turk. I'd feel safer on Grand Turk than in ANY U.S. city, for that matter.
  8. Doug Parker from Cruise Radio said the official word is that the port will reopen on October 11th.
  9. That shooting was in Long Bay on Provo. Not GT. Provo is the most populated island in the T&C. GT has a smaller population than guest capacity on Mardi Gras. There is no crime issue on Grand Turk. One of the safest islands to visit IMHO.
  10. Huh? Tourist shooting? I have always heard that Turks and Caicos has the lowest crime rate in the Caribbean and have never seen an poverty of any sort on GT or Provo (Providenciales) as well.
  11. We have booked an aft balcony on deck 9 of Mariner of the Seas for a Bermuda cruise next year. Has anybody had any issues with soot on the balconies in the aft of this ship? I read some complaints about it, but the thread was 12 years old so was thinking maybe it has been rectified? TIA for any replies.
  12. Was on Liberty Labor Day weekend. Midship balcony deck 8 and the sewage smell was horrible and made balcony unusable most days.
  13. Looks like just the newest portion of the pier that was constructed to accommodate the mega ships has collapsed. The rest of the pier APPEARS intact. If engineers deem it structurally sound, there's no reason Spirit and Conquest class ships (and the like) can't moor there. More importantly, great news no injuries or deaths occurred from the storm.
  14. We've been to Bimini many times and rented golf carts but have never arrived by Cruise Ship. We are sailing Carnival to Bimini soon and are wondering: Does the tram stop at the Resorts World Casino parking lot to let off passengers seeking to rent a cart? Do you need a reservation to rent a cart there? If you do, what rental company(ies) operate from that lot that you can reserve with? What does a cart cost for the day and is that with or without fuel included? Thanks in advance for any info! 😁
  15. I was wondering if the "Beach Club 360" excursion in Bimini included access to the pools. I have seen many conflicting reports on Carnival.com reviews as well as posts here on this subject. Some say pool access is not available, some say it is indeed included while others say pool access is a $7.50 pp upcharge. Has anyone done this excursion recently and know what the policy is currently? All replies are appreciated! 😁
