  1. A final is suppose to be emailed the next day. We did not receive one so I contacted Princess they replied that they would send one out by email. As others have suggested check your account frequently or even every day. We checked ours every day and do have a copy of most of the final day. Waiting for email from Princess to verify charges.

  2. On boarding the Regal in Galveston my wife was sent to the security table, they made her get rid of a small ziplock bag of banana chips and some peanuts she had these in a shirt pocket. Glad they didn't see on the luggage scan the other large bag. We probably would have gotten thrown in jail for smuggling.😉😁

  3. Flew into IAH last Sunday to go to Galveston via Princess transfer. After a wait of over an hour they finally decided they had found a bus . there was a total of eight people in this group of passengers  We finally get to a bus that is mostly full. People say they have been on board for over an hour. After setting for another half an hour we leave terminal. Now I will add we have used Princess shuttle before and never had any kind of a problem. People on board are talking about how disorganized things have been . We finally are on our way to Galveston about half way ther driver pulls bus over, not sure to exit or go straight hmmm. A while later 25 miles out of Galveston another stop, driver on phone later find out this bus should have another group on board. Now there is more talk about how unorganized things were at airport. Phone conversation they made a suggestion that driver turn around and come back to pick up other passengers. That was vetoed luckily, I'm afraid there could have been a mutiny on the bus. We eventually get to port and it's onboard the ship yay. Come to find out this poor driver who spoke very little english had never made this run before, problem not his fault but more than likely one of his worst day's. After talking to others on the ship I kept hearing the word disorganized at the airport. Talked to one couple who had a transfer booked said they finally took an Uber to Galveston. Yes I realize there are times when things happen, will I use Princess transfer again yes. All is well we are on board enjoying another cruise, abit rough due to wind😁cruise on.

  4. Cruise from Galveston in March, will be flying into IAH . Will arrive 8:30 A M and taking a Princess shuttle to the ship. Hoping to be able to have time to purchase several bottles of wine. Has anyone done this in the past, looking for some guidance on this . Yes I am aware that you can purchase wine at the airport just want info about doing it before boarding shuttle.

  5. Nuuk, nanortalik, and Qaqortoq, I realize these are small ports kind of off the beaten path so to speak. Looking for opinions from those who have done this cruise, yay or nay. This would be in August of 24 from Boston, have been to the other ports on this cruise.

I will offer some advice to the OP (wanted or not :).  Cruise line arranged hotels/transfers will generally cost you about 150-200% of booking the same (or better) hotels/transfers on your own.  And when it comes to Boston, just like most larger cities, it is all about the location that best meets your needs/wants.  Boston is a city of neighborhoods and you should consider choosing the area (and class of hotel) that puts you close to what is important to you.  If you are planning to fly-in a day or two before your cruise, think about staying near the tourist destinations/restaurants where you want to spend the bulk of your time.  For example, you might want to be in walking distance of the Commons, Faneuil Hall, etc.  or, Perhaps you prefer to be all the way out in Cambridge.  If you are flying-in later in the day before your cruise, you might prefer one of the hotels located closer to the cruise port (lovingly known as the Black Falcon cruise terminal).  I might add that the neighborhood relatively close to the port has really been growing (in recent years) and has become a pretty decent area with a decent selection of restaurants.

As to transfers, this is overblown and a non-issue.  No matter where you stay, it is simply a matter of using taxis/Uber.Lyft to get from airport to hotel and hotel to port.  Even if you are at the closest hotel to the port, you are going to need transportation since most folks do not like taking long walks with luggage.  And getting from the airport to any hotel is simply a matter of walking out of the terminal and getting the next taxi (or calling for an Uber/Lyft).

Congrats Hank you win the prize for the best answer to original question. You covered all bases and gave a very helpful answer. I agree about doing one's own booking rather than Princess due to cost. In the past we have always checked Princess cost for hotels, always do our own tho. Seeing as how this would be our first time out of Boston just like to check out all possibilites. Thanks again now on to further research.

I asked my agent, and there are no hotels listed for Boston departures yet.

Coral thank you for the answer to my original question, which some had a problem with. As my PCC is out of office on weekends this saved me from having to bother her on Monday.

  8. Thanks for all of the reply's, one question tho why does Princess list Boston as a city they sail out of. As much time as I have spent on the Princess site over the years I was pleased to see the departure and hotel site on Princess. Guess one is never to old to learn something new. Usually travel from other ports around the country, N E would be something new Seeing as how princess has listed Boston as a departure then where do they depart from. Past year Boston was also mentioned, either that or I had one heck of a senior moment. Again thanks to all who responded to the question, looks like it is time to call my PCC.

  9. It never ceases to amaze me how one can ask a specific question and then get answers that do not really pertain to the actual question. Is there anyone out there that could possibly give me a correct answer to my question? If you do not have a correct answer don't bother replying just to add to your number of post's. To quote a person who is quite often in the news come on man or ladies.😉😁

My wife and I recently completed a Transatlantic on Regal Princess.  This was our second Transatlantic, our first, interestingly was also on Regal Princess.

    Some thoughts:

Overall, we would rate the trip and the cruise ship a solid 4 1/2/out of 5.

We have noticed some post Covid Changes.  The size of the portions of food were smaller, and the menu in the MDR was also somewhat limited.  But overall the quality of food in the MDR was excellent.  Service was fantastic (by the way, our waitress did give me a 2nd lobster tail without the usual surcharge….please don’t tell Princess.😂)

We were planning to dine a night at the steakhouse, but we had such a great time in the MDR, we cancelled our reservation (we did eat twice at Alfredo’s)

Horizon and Horizon Bistro  was outstanding (5/5) with a multiple of choices.  Plenty of tables available with only limited table hogging.  Each night was a different theme in Horizon Court.  There was a separate pastry section, where gourmet coffee and espresso were made.

At the pool area was a customary pizza and hamburgers.  One would go, order the hamburger and go back to the table, and we would be notified when food was ready.  In addition to hamburgers one could also get frankfurters and chicken.

The small bistro at the International Cafe in the Atrium was open 24/7, and one could get coffee, espresso, teas, and a host of small pastries as well as items such as sandwiches there.  Many individuals enjoyed a “Continental Breakfast” at the I.C.

By the way, the medallion service did work with drinks being brought to you after you ordered them via I-Phone.

We did notice some rust areas on the balcony, and some of the lighting on the walkways on deck 16  were out, needed repairs.  But overall the ship was in great shape.

Entertainment was fantastic.  We did have three true production shows.  One had to get to the theatre early to make sure one could find a seat on these nights.  Some seats were reserved for those who booked the more expensive Princess Plus Plan (I believe that they called it Princess Prime) but all in all that was not a problem.

There were several “shows” or music in the Atrium include two fantastic ladies playing piano and violin.  I wanted to take them back to Orlando to play at our Dr. Phillips Center, but they told me they were under contract 😂

Fellow passengers were great.  We did meet a lot of interesting people.  Many people used motorized chairs to get around, no problem.

We were disappointed in the Princess Tours.  We did feel that the quality of the tour guides has declined.  But overall thought our trip to the Normandy Beaches was fantastic.  Enjoyed our walking tour of Lisbon.

Boarding was a “breeze”. Boarded the ship within 15 minutes after we arrived.  Our Cabin (which by the way was serviced twice/day) was available.  We did have a mini-suite and we’re Club Reserve (which we would highly recommend)

Before the cruise, we stayed for several days in Southampton at the Moxy.  Highly recommend staying there for several days, and indeed liked the hotel.

We had several “rough” days at sea after leaving France.  But the last several days before arriving at Ft. Lauderdale, we had warm weather and calm seas. We often sat at the adult sanctuary section, or on windy days, in the back of the ship on deck 14.

The staff was a solid 5/5.  Captain was outstanding.

All in all we had an excellent time.  Well worth the money.

By the way, next cruise (we like to try different cruise lines) will be on Holland America next year.  Our previous cruise was on Celebrity.

Have to agree with this post, we were on from 9/29 the trip was great. The only negative was our late arrival in Fll which could not be avoided Princess was good at helping those with independent air. Although with people leaving and those waiting to board it was a cluster getting to transportation outside. We were last off at 10:30, it was close to 12:30 before we boarded the transfer bus. Home in Nebraska safe and sound looking back on a wonderful trip.

  11. For the average passenger these days, the princess robes are a joke. Ok anyone out there laughing yet? As a side note Holland robes even fit a somewhat larger person like myself. Please cheerleaders don't be snide and suggest  I just sail with Holland, as this will show your lack of @&%$. For the record I do not sail for the size of the robe as I usually just go commando in the cabin.😁

  12. Currently on the same cruise, abit slower than at home but not slow enough to bother complaining about. In a perfect world there are no speed bumps, although I don't think there is such a place as perfect. Perhaps for a brief period we all need to go back to the past before WiFi, cell phones and so on. Last night before the show started in the theater as I sat in the back as I looked out over the crowd it was like a sea of firefly"s glowing from the phones. No wonder some people can not converse anymore it is becoming a lost art..
