Hello all. I received an email from Azamara about canceling the stop at the port of Amalfi a due to national bike race. They are substituting this cancellation with the Port of Portovenere which is fine with me because it is a beautiful small Italian city. This also means that the order of ports has been shifted so if anyone has made shore excursions through Azamara or private you might want to change your dates. You can go online with Azamara to see what shore excursions have been cancelled and maybe there's more new excursions from the new port. Tyler

In the past before Covid the Meet and Mingle has usually been the first full days at sea in the morning before noon. I'm sure the lack of sailing during Covid has screwed up a lot of things but it's time to get back to normal and have a great time. There seems to be a lot of angry people in general and I just wish it would stop. Tyler

Venice is worth spending some time there. Several years ago, before the Italian authorities stopped any ship over 25, 000 tons we overnighted on our first cruise with Azamara and then we stayed at a hotel on the grand Canal. We learned that the best way to see Venice is to go into town and get lost. You'll find your way out but all the places we have never seen before and some of the places we ate at were so special. Venice is truly a magic place full of wonders. The locals might hate us but so what.

No they are not paused. I was on the Quest back in July and august and we had a meet and mingle. I registered for our journey cruise next may and I have a confirmation letter from azamara that was emailed to me. Don't believe everything you read. Cruise Critic doesn't keep everything up to date.

Azamara started having the Meet and Greet through Cruise Critic some time ago but I just wanted to remind people that you can register for your Azamara cruise meet and greet. Tyler

I knew I was right about this. I'll take Fusina or Chioggia anytime compared to Ravenna or Trieste. It will be a lot easier going to the Marco Polo now. I'm thinking we'll stay 3 days after the crise in a venice hotel now. Happy days. Tyler

The itinerary for our 12 night treasures of the Mediterranean voyage cruise starting May 6, 2023 and ends in Venice on May 18, 2023 with a overnight in Venice on May 17, 2023 calls for the Journey to be at the Marghera port in Venice which is just outside of Venice.
