I think Lobster is overrated, not fond of if. I don't eat any.

The main complaints seem to be the ship is creaky and noisy. Some said they couldn't sleep. One mentioned bunk beds:eek: Another frequent complaint was changing the ports of call without good reasons. Picked these up on google.

Each to their own. I wouldn't sail on it. Read too much bad stuff about it.

Just back from Nice. Not just Police in and out of the airport but the army inside the Terminal especially by the check in desks. Reassuring but scary too as it brings back Brussels in the mind.
We travel to Nice every year at this time and flights are usually almost full. This year only about a quarter full both ways.

If anyone is posting solely with the intent of getting into one of the "clubs" I would suggest they grow up and get a life;)
-
I remember the excitement in the old days. Waiting for the new brochures to come out and looking at the cabin plans:) although it is great having so much information on the Internet nowadays.

I have heard stories of people taking long cruises on cargo ships. Has anyone ever done that and do they still have them?
-
Shame, I love steel bands on Caribbean cruises. Our last cruise had Latin American music most of the time, same tunes over and over. I put it down to having sailed from Puerto Rico.
-
Norwegian Air flights from the UK are very reasonable and good. All their fleet flying to America are new Dreamliners. We have flown twice with them to Fort Lauderdale and Puerto Rico. Definitely worth a look.

Good points Ian. We should have a like button:)

I don't find UK TAs very helpful or competitive on prices. We book through a TA in Houston and book flights direct online, likewise hotels. This site has some good deals too.
-
We tip two or three days into the cruise if all is going well. There is a difference afterwards, otherwise wouldn't bother. I do it every few days if staying in a hotel too.
What are all these strange posts, has CC been hacked?

Malaga will be warmer and more relaxing:) you could always get a flight from Gatwick. A train journey through Europe would be long, tiring and probably be more expensive than flying.
-
So much nicer than our apple pies too...deeper, fuller and spicier. Yummy:)

Since you have been going on and on and on with your fear and insulted me when I asked you whether you had seen anything in person.
I didn't think I insulted anyone unless having a different opinion is counted as one:D
Another small? Incident today

We tip a couple of days in if they are doing ok. I assure you it does make a difference. Tip at the end too, OK. It's a bribe, so what.:p
-
Yes that's a good idea:)

Depends on the person but personally I would be pleased to get a book of traditional Florida cooking or a bottle of bourbon:)

Perhaps we are different in UK but you would not see people dressed in shorts etc in decent restaurants even though no official dress code. Pubs and McDonald type but not a proper restaurant. That goes for young people too.:D

As your cruise ship would not dock near this how is this a problem, plus what to refugees pose to you that is so scary?
They don't just stay in port, they go around the town according to friends who were there at Easter. They are also infiltrated by Isis or their supporters. Not necessarily scary, just unpleasant.
Since when was it that anyone who has a different opinion is a troll:confused:

We love Pigeon Island, been about 5 times. The captains Cellar was closed in December. The other bar is very quaint with some weird wood furniture on outside terrace. Wandering around the ruins is interesting and their are plaques on each building giving info'. Love the small beach too, if going independently for a couple of dollars extra on entrance fee you can have a lounger on the beach.
Climb to the top for great views.

im not saying to have it at the buffet, i am merely saying that they should come up with a different venue ( along the lines of a red lobster or dennys ) that people can wear shorts and sneakers and a t shirt and get the exact same food choices as those who choose to dress up,
Yes that's what I think. Most newer ships have two dining rooms anyway.

Never understood the fascination with lobster, not special now either seeing as it's fairly cheap.

Depends on your price range. South bank as some said is ideal. I also like the other side of the Thames and if we are in London always stay at the Royal Horse guards hotel. Not cheap though but tucked away behind Whitehall it is minutes away from National Gallery, Trafalgar Square etc. Some good pubs to eat in too.

Why all the paranoia:confused: you can get more information by googling than posted on here :)
