  1. I don't care which cruise line...there is no way I'd put myself in the madness occurring in that area of the world...Those folks are crazed and do NOT like us!!!! The killings happening there are not "random"...they are targeted....and I wouldn't want to be the target.

Agree. We are all targets. Although I do think the cruise ships are sensible in making decisions.

  2. From what I hear from forum friends, the only problem with adult cruises is that everything goes quiet soon after 10pm, which is why many prefer family ships. I've never heard that heavy drinkers were a problem.

We're hoping to do our first adult only cruise on the Marco Polo this summer, so I'll keep an eye open....;)

If it is true what they say about that ship there are many more problems than a screaming baby:eek:

  3. Chair hogs turn other rational people into chair hogs. On Princess we couldn't get a lounger all week except so high up it blew the ice cream out of my cone:) many got the crew to carry loungers from other decks to the pool area. This resulted in being almost impossible to get through for a dip in the pool. Total shambles. On our last day which was a sea day we had an early breakfast, found a nice sheltered spot away from the wind and the loudspeakers and stuck with them all day:D

It is ok to say remove items from loungers but I am on holiday, I don't want to be confrontational, I am supposed to be relaxing. I don't want some irate guy threatening me.

  4. It is a no no. Not a matter of baggage, anything can happen. 110 flights cancelled today because of fog at Heathrow, not to mention delays. Then there are occasional security delays. If we are cruising from Florida we always fly in the day before, in fact two days gives me more peace of mind.

  5. I have never found the lines too crowded but haven't been on Carnival for years. Does it depend what time you get back on the ship when in port? I think we may just have room service and use the time to freshen up. Do they not serve cakes etc. In the afternoon?

  6. Husband likes to wear his tuxedo. We don't mind what other people do I just wish some would give the same courtesy and not imply we are the odd ones out. Transatlantic crossings do tend to be more formal, especially on Cunard and P&O although we did see someone on Queen Mary in a leather jacket and Tshirt:)

For some a cruise may be a one off special occasion and they welcome the opportunity to dress up.

  7. It is difficult. Just a few spoil it and it turns other people into chair hogs. On Princess many were leaving towels, books etc. Before going off for an excursion when in port. I don't know what the answer is but there should be vigilant crew to work out some policy.
