  1. Alrighty, I took pictures of my clothes last night and got the majority rolled up an into just 2 eBags packing cubes (one large, one medium). Those things are impressive. I realized I don't really have outfits, per se, but can mix and match all my bottoms + tops. Unfortunately most of my tops are just fitted v-neck tshirts, but I plan to wear dresses mostly at night, anyway.

I will upload and post pictures tonight but here is my list that I can remember (we will also be spending 1/2 day in Fort Lauderdale before and 2 days in Naples after our 7 night cruise):

    7 fitted tshirts

4 pairs of long pants; 2 skinny ankle pants, 2 long dressy pants

    4 pairs casual shorts

    2 pairs dressier shorts

    1 lace short sleeved "sweater"

2 3/4 length shirts (including anchor embarkation shirt)

    2 athletic tanks

    2 swim suits

    2 swim suit coverups

6 dresses (for dinner; will be wearing dress pants first night)

    6 or 7 pairs of shoes (?!)

    Jean jacket

    Black cardigan (dolman style sleeves)

    pajamas (of course!)

I'll also have a pair of jeans, tennis shoes, and a hoodie/fleece, that I'll be wearing to fly down and back.

    Sounds like a good plan!

  2. I'm going through my clothes tonight for my 7 night with 2 formal nights (I'm going to specialty restaurant one of those formal nights, though). So even though it's a little different, I'll try and share my list tomorrow. :) I'll try to take some pictures if I remember!

I like the style of what you're thinking! I'm not a huge fan of shorts, either.

Also, I've never worn Toms but my sister and friends swear by them! I have Sanuks, which aren't as stylish looking, but are also very comfy.

Can't wait to see list and pics!

  3. There are 2 very different philosophies for packing: Minimalists take neutral shorts/Capris (white, black or khaki) and a couple tops in various colors for daytime/casual. Dinner clothes consist of neutrals also, with different accessories to change the look.

Maximists make a spreadsheet and take a completely different outfit for each activity for each day...nice if flying isn't part of your travel plans.

So JediMom, Terryd444, laurspag: If you are cruising from Florida, short sleeves and shorts should be good for daytime. 5-7 days: 3 pairs of shorts/Capris and 5 or 6 tops (sleeves and/or sleeveless) will give you enough changes. It's always a good idea to have a lightweight white cardigan or light jacket. It goes with everything and keeps you warm in air conditioning.

Dining rooms are a little cool for me, so if I wear a sundress or strapless top to dinner, a Bolero-type cardigan keeps me comfortable.

You could take nice neutral ankle pants for dinner and wear them a couple times with different tops. The other people at your table notice what you're wearing from the waist up, but don't see what's on your lower half.

wrcjr98: My local Old Navy store closed recently:confused: - too bad. I really like the photo you posted of the anchor-print shirt! It would be a nice addition to any Cruise Closet:cool:. Thanks for sharing!

Great ideas ! I would love to see someone's packing list for an 8 night cruise with 2 formal nights with 1 specialty restaurant !

  4. Just off of the Breeze....the Brunch was on sea days only from 830-100. The dress code for the Fahrenheit Steakhouse is the same as the MDR, with the exception of shorts not being allowed. The Cucina has a more relaxed dress code, similar to the MDR. You can go there for lunch, which is free or dinner, for 12.00 pp. At lunch, you can get, caesar salad, lasagna or cooked to order pasta off of a checklist. You pick your pasta, sauce, protein and whichever veggies you would like added. You can make reservations for dinner for either location before you cruise and both times we ate at the Cucina for dinner, there were large parties (10-12) at some tables.

If you're looking for a good night to go to an alternative restaurant, pick night 3....the menu is very weak that night.

Thanks for all the great info!

my travel uniform is a mid weight sweater, tank top, comfy pants and light scarf. I find I get hot and cold and in between on planes and traveling and that gives me options

as far as the question in early post about taking a small purse. I have a purse hook that hangs off the table. sometimes I take a wristlet, for key, reading glasses, lipstick, hand santizer, and $$ if going to the casino.
