  1. It looks like there is a "Before" class ticket, sounds pretty standard, is that the one I should choose for a train ticket? Thanks for the lock comment, that is now my husband's only job....to acquire a cable luggage lock!
  2. I am looking at the La Petit train d'Antibes that goes to Juan les Pins as well. Would this be a good idea or skip it? I'm not sure if you can get on and off as you travel between the two areas. Any thoughts on this. And yes, I would love to do the flower market!
  3. I think because most skorts are above the knee in length. I have purchased 19” skorts and they hit just barely above the knee but some places specify that knees must be covered.
  4. My husband will be traveling with 2 amazing pairs of Bluffworks pants. They have hidden zippered pockets, resist stains, never wrinkle, super lightweight, and so comfortable. Navy and khaki and he’s set. He updated his travel wardrobe with Nautical performance wear button up shirts and I can’t believe how easy it for a man to pack for 10 days in Europe. Linen is such a wrinkled mess after 1 wear.
  5. This is awesome! Thanks for all your work. Is there a way to see what cabins might still be available in case I am considering a move up option, specifically for Celebrity?
  6. We are in Cannes for one day in June. After walking in Cannes, we are planning to take the train to Antibes to enjoy the afternoon. Now, I am considering the Petit Train in Antibes. Has anybody done this and if so, would you recommend or not? Is it possible to get off and visit sites of interest? Should I get tickets in advance? I am wondering if this is a good option to get an overview of the area, or if it is too childlike and a big no-go? Love to hear your experience as I see they offer this in several cities in France. From Cannes, from which route would you start? TIA https://petit-train-antibes.com/en/reservations-2/reservations-petit-train/
  7. I would also like to know what the OP did while in Cannes.
  8. We are in Marseille on June 11, and I booked the Luberon Villages. I will give an update as soon as we get home. I am very excited for this day, I was concerned that I would not be able to get a group together, so yes, I did book through the ship excursions, we only have until 5 p.m. there and I wanted to get priority debarkation with the ship's tour so we could get an early start. I hope that was a wise decision. I usually prefer very small groups and on our own, so we shall see.
  9. Thank you so much! Very helpful.
  10. Thank you all so much. I have visited Amalfi Coast, Positano, & Sorrento on a previous trip with my daughter, and my husband just said he is more comfortable getting to Rome as soon as possible, because there is so much to see/do there. Would you prebook train tickets now on this website for a date in June? https://www.italiarail.com/?_ga=2.237465735.609452399.1683324874-1159613843.1683059241&_gac=1.160872015.1683086032.Cj0KCQjw6cKiBhD5ARIsAKXUdybUVmejypCexMlm-mu_E8LDb45NAgzmPqyC6n8TgyDyZCFlPS_2a_kaAoZzEALw_wcB Do the train prices vary depending on availability? This is on a Sunday, how busy/crowded are trains on Sundays? We will have luggage, probably 1 checked bag and 2 carryons...yikes, do we need premium seats to accommodate the luggage? Are the standard tickets unable to accommodate our luggage? Sorry for the all the questions, we have had so many changes in this cruise, it has been overwhelming to consider changing all our plans and we are in countdown mode! Thanks for your help.
  11. Looking for help here please. We are disembarking our ship a day early in Naples and I am researching plans to get to Rome. We also would like to tour a bit and are considering options. My first option is to take a taxi from the port (we will have all our luggage) to the train station and use the direct high speed train to Rome center city. We have hotel reservations near the Coliseum and can book an afternoon tour of Rome once we have arrived and dropped off luggage. Or, should we just hire a driver in Naples, and combine the tour with the transportation into Rome. If so, what tour/transfer company would you suggest? I would love to do the Amalfi Coast, but its the wrong direction, correct? Are there any other points of interest between Naples headed to Rome that would be worth this extra expense? TIA
  12. I am shopping for a few cocktail dresses and I will probably take a few long dresses as well. We are celebrating our anniversary and a birthday, so I want to dress up and enjoy this cruise. I have ordered these, we will see what actually makes the suitcase, lol. I have a long black dress and a jumpsuit that will go in the mix.
  13. La Spezia would be so much easier! I would do the water ferry in that case.
  14. Thank you for this insight! Makes me feel much better about this choice.
  15. thank you so much! I am sure Portofino is super crowded as well in the summer, but it is so beautiful, I do want to see it. It was first on my list, so I may go that route. Lucca looks like they have a lovely place for biking, and that might be a great plan for us as well. Do Italians use ebikes? We have Dutch ebikes here at home, and love them so much. I wonder if that is a possibility.....
  16. Another question for you, the cruise line offers Cinque Terre from Genoa as it is another port day. That looks like a long trek as well. Do you think that is the better option to see Cinque Terre or should I stick with Portofino, Rapallo & S. Margherita which was my original plan? Thanks so much for your input.
  17. And from Cannes, do you think Antibes is the best place to explore and spend our time? I like to do some independent travel but I am going to book with the ship so I can get a decent tender since Cannes is small. I have been to Eze and enjoyed doing all the perfumes with my daughter on another trip. This is with my husband, and I wonder if Antibes is lovely and would be the best choice in that area? Or would you focus on Nice?
  18. We are also planning to be in Cannes and I am thinking we will book a walking tour with the ship's excursion desk so we are able to get early tender positioning, if that is finished by noonish....would we have time to catch a direct train and see a Antibes? Our ship will leave at 7 pm that evening. Would love to know if that is doable before I book the Cannes walking tour. Thanks in advance.
  19. Thank you, the original cruise we booked had La Spezia as a port, and I am starting to agree with you. It does look magical, and I can see how staying there would make all the difference, enjoying it without all the day crowds! Thank you for this insight.
  20. Delta flys out of Terminal 3 and looks like they take Fast Track, they better, I paid to get through the line and have a voucher for this priority service. I do not see anything that states Terminal 3 doesn't allow Fast Track. https://assist-ant.com/airport-vip-services/fast-track-fco-airport-rome/#:~:text=The Fast Track FCO airport,Fiumicino Airport in Rome%2C Italy.
  21. I thought I really wanted to go to Cinque Terre, but the more I am reading about restrictions and overcrowding, and shoulder to shoulder tourists in the streets, the more it sounds unappealing for the month of June. It is also looking a bit difficult to get to, as our ship is docking in Livorno and it will require a bit of a drive. The tour I looked at joining basically states that the driver drops you off and you are on your own to get your train/ferry tickets and meet back at a certain time....so, I understand the rules for drivers are quite strict and no parking is available. Is it worth it? Is there a "better way" to enjoy it all? Is there another quaint area that is accessible from Livorno that we should check out? We also have an opportunity to visit the Luberon Villages in France, and I wonder if that is a better choice. Would love to hear your experiences and advice in this matter. Thanks in advance.
  22. I have 2 guided tour tickets purchased from the Vatican website for the Museums and the Sistine Chapel and now, our cruise plans have changed. I paid 70 euros, they are non refundable, BUT I can change the name and the date of them, so if anybody can use 2 Tickets to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel with a GUIDE, skip the line, and audio, I will email them to you for 60USD, what a great deal to enjoy the art of the world. My email is rbovine1@gmail.com and I will forward all information per request and paypal funds.
  23. Are you guys planning to get the Fast Track for the Rome airport? I read a thread that Rome is a mess at the airport with long security lines and difficulty getting to the gate. I bought the Fast Track pass, hope it helps.
  24. i agree, the top doesn't do a thing for her body, but yes, a mini skirt with attached full length leggings is great for fall/winter. Cabi also did skirted leggings ~8 years ago, and I loved them for fall/winter then too. Looks too hot for the Med in June. I'm probably going to opt for a cap sleeve midi dress, and skip doing those beastly stairs.
  25. oh yes, I'm sure the Mosque are quite strict. And good for you that you were able to improvise!
