  1. We will have a night in Barcelona before our cruise and would like recommendations for a tour you have used to experience a walking food tour with or without a Flamenco experience. If you used a local guide, would love to hear your experience and recommendations. We are hoping for an evening tour. Thanks in Advance.
  2. We are booked at H10 Catalunya Plaza for the convenience of the transportation to that area. There is a huge Barcelona hotel thread here on CC, and that is where I saw this location being discussed. I realize it's a chain hotel group, but looks acceptable with decent reviews.
  3. We are also on a Celebrity cruise ending in Rome and planning 2 additional nights. I am debating using a Shared Shuttle and dropping luggage directly at the hotel, then doing in depth tour of The Vatican, Sistine Chapel, etc. SharedShuttle.com offers transfers and/or tours. We are on Celebrity Edge in June. I hope I can get a small group of 4 others to join us.
  4. Ugh, do you mind sharing the details? We are on the Edge and bid up from a Concierge GTY to Aqua for 300 per person and no word yet.
  5. So, how long does it usually take to get results from the move up bidding process? We are over here still pending.....and waiting.
  6. Our flight is not until the following Monday, so not concerned about making it from the port. BUT, long lines at 9:45 which means we need to be there at 6:45 is not something I want to deal with, it will probably be fine, but not chancing it.
  7. I just received email confirmation of the fast track service (in Italian, of course) and the follow up email gives you the QR codes that will be scanned at the airport with our boarding passes. So, it was easy-peasy and should be worth our time & $. Thank you to the first person that mentioned this service in this thread, it's why I read CC and I appreciate the heads up to make our travels enjoyable.
  8. No, I did not put our exact flight number in, just the date I want to be Fast Tracked. 14e for 2 of us, I'm sure they like to make extra $ from tourists, but we sure don't want to hang out and miss our 9:45 direct flight home after 2 weeks of traveling.
  9. Interested in this Fast Track method at FCO. We have an early Monday morning direct flight from Rome to Atlanta in June after our cruise. If my flight is already booked, do I just go ahead and pay the Fast Track and will it generate some kind of document to show with my airline ticket? I have it in the cart now, and ready to push the button. Thanks in advance.
  10. I'm planning resort casual knit dresses with tennis shoes. One piece dressing is easy for packing, no wrinkles, and cool comfort. My dresses are knee length and should be fine. I'm planning to wear white Hoka trainers for all the serious walking in Barcelona and Rome, and any touring in between. Throwing in a denim jacket with crossbody purse, hat, sunglasses and I'm planning a capsule wardrobe around some basic pieces. Lots of ideas on Pinterest how to create a capsule wardrobe. The 5-4-3-2-1 Packing Method sounds great, I am going to start with this idea, and try to stay efficient. Here is a good article that gives the basics, I will use lightweight black ponte leggings instead of black jeans for June and probably wear that on the plane with a large fun scarf, definitely tennis shoes through the airports. I also pack in compression bags and I don't roll my clothing. I use the bundle method. Glad you asked this question, because I am starting to plan this as well. Nothing worse than overpacking and being burdened with loads of stuff you don't need or wear on a busy vacation. I am going to do at least 2 nice, dressy cocktail/long dresses for the ship's chic nights. https://www.thebellevoyage.com/travel-capsule-wardrobe/ And here she does specifically a capsule wardrobe for Europe, which I just found and may use these tips as well. https://www.thebellevoyage.com/europe-capsule-wardrobe/
  11. Yes, I agree, I think this is the exact situation on Edge as well. It's not awful, my husband doesn't mind at all, but I would be thrilled with the bid upgrade. I prefer the bed by the bath. Thank you for this visual, that's helpful.
  12. It is a cruise sales website, ***** dot com and it looks very similar to the outlet that I purchased our cruise from. It does list all the cabins they show available in the different categories.
  13. Well, I am thinking doesn't Aqua class give you daily water/tea? And we take on 2 bottles of wine in our carry on each? Specialty coffee is my daily weakness, and yes, I like your plan. We can always add it later if we see that we need it.
  14. Thank you! That is helpful, there are several A2 cabins, so maybe, just maybe....we'll see. A1 not so much. Also, to you experienced Celebrity cruisers....I booked it as cruise only, should I go back and try to add the beverage/tips package or is it too late? We aren't going to drink 9 drinks per day, maybe a glass of wine with dinner...so usually we just pay as we go. What is your thought on that?
  15. Thank you wrk2cruise, yep, I see this cabin (video) is definitely partial view, and that is what our cabin 11156 will be, I thought I had read that if your cabin has the small square designating a sofa bed, then the bed is by the bath and I just looked at the deck plan closer, I don't see that small square....but hey, my eyes are old, I could be wrong. I think the bed is by the window, same as the cabin in your video above. Which might be great for room service, lol. I hope for $600 I will be moving into Aqua class, but we will see. My TA can't seem to tell me how many cabins are actually still available, so we will wait for the results. Hope they tell us before we board, lol. Thank you for finding this video, I have searched like crazy to find the exact cabin with no luck.
  16. Dang, the TA told me to put in $200, but when I started the link, the lowest bid was 300 per person. Were you able to just dial in any amount? or did you use the slider thingy on the website? And, we are assigned 11156, which I love Deck 11 and its midship, but it is the concierge cabin next to the Magic Carpet, so it states partial view. It also looks like the bed is next to the window. We've never seen that configuration before, so not really sure how I like that. Would love to hear your opinions on that setup. I'm sure there are other unobstructed views in Concierge that would make me happy. I do love Aqua class having access to the Thermal Suite, and I would pay for that anyway...hence the bidding process.
  17. Circling back to this thread, we are happily...no, actually Thrilled to be booked on Celebrity Edge concierge to Spain, France & Italy. Can't wait to hit these gorgeous ports and enjoy this ship. Happy Sailing!
  18. All aboard the Disney Fantasy with my daughter and grands, easy wear with comfy shoes to meet Mickey and yes, we did allllll the photo ops, lol. It was the first cruise for my grands and we had so much fun. Headed to Europe, I will probably do dresses with tennis shoes.
  19. Ship: Edge Length of Cruise: 7 night Cruise Sail Date: June 10, 2023 Date email offer received: did not receive email, bid directly on website link Captain’s Club Tier [“PREVIEW” = first Celebrity Cruise]: Booked through Celebrity Direct OR via TA: TA Current Cabin: 11156 Concierge (booked as Concierge GTY) Bid? Yes/No: YES If YES - Bidding Details: Cabin Category: place winning category, if accepted (all category offers, can be mentioned in comments) Bid Offer: $300 Per Person ($600) for Aqua Class Notification Date: Accepted / Rejected General Comments (offer details, etc.) Offer is pending. It was not available to bid on a better located Concierge cabin, the one that was assigned by the GTY was a partial view, I submitted a bid for Aqua class, my TA recommended bidding $200 per person for Aqua, but that was not available on the slider bar. I will update as soon as I get notification.
  20. Thank you! I did submit a bid on the website, but I never received an email. I only booked this trip 3 days ago, so I am really late to the party, lol. Hoping my bid is accepted, it was more than I wanted to pay, but I think Aqua class would be lovely. I was surprised there was not an option to bid on a better location in Concierge. Sounds like a good idea to ask about moving to a different concierge cabin, but I was under the impression that once you are assigned on a GTY, there are no changes to be had. And of course, the QTY is a partial view, great midship location, but partial view is what it is. My husband doesn't care, lol. And Islander, what lucky friends! We are on Edge, and hope to get so lucky! I guess it depends how many cabins are available. Thanks for the encouragement!
  21. That's awesome! I am so jealous! Wondering if you would be willing to share your bid information? And I totally understand if you don't, but I have never done this, and I just booked this cruise 2 days ago.
  22. First Time Celebrity cruisers here. We are booked in a Concierge GTY cabin, paid in full, and now I am curious about this "move up" bidding process. On my actual reservation, I have a cabin number already assigned, (I was shocked that it was already there) And I clicked on the link to upgrade, and just wondering how likely it might be to upgrade to Aqua class. Or maybe a different position Concierge. The cabin assigned is partially obstructed, which I knew was a good chance, but a great midship location. I do believe the bed is near the balcony, and I prefer the bed closer to the bathroom. Tell me how it works please. TIA
  23. Thank you all. Not sure if I got the best/better deal with this promo, but we are Booked! Can't wait to try Celebrity Edge. My TA said yes, we will be eligible for move up bidding, but we'll see if that is even worth doing. Thanks for the replies.
  24. I am just now looking at Celebrity for a June cruise using this promo. Do you think the best deal is cruise only fare and rock bottom price or should we do the added beverage/tips package? Not sure what the tip rate is for this 7 nighter I am looking at, so if you happen to know, I would appreciate it. This will be our first trip on Celebrity and I thought the prices were pretty good. Can't go HAL for this price, so we are hoping it is good. If you use this 75% off promo for the 2nd guest, can you participate in bidding up? I am not familiar with that process at all. TIA
