    There's a new Park and Cruise very close to the port that only charges $6.99 per day. They run a shuttle to and from the port.

    Haven't used them myself, but they have been getting some good reviews.

    Shirley and Prestion have the info somewhere on this thread....

    Hey Shirley and Preston.......just returned this past Thursday from our wonderful Disney Dream cruise.....it was fantastic!!!!

     

    Boy did we luck out with the lovebugs!!!! Since we didn't arrive until 9:00pm that Saturday we only started getting some about 20 miles out. (my hubby took the car & got it washed as soon as we arrived). When we left we didn't run into any!!! Now how lucky is that????

     

    We look forward to being back in your area in October!!! Thanks a million for all the help!!!!

    Hey there my friend,

    So glad you and yours are coming back - the weather has been beautiful but the love bugs have been horrific this year - make sure if you are driving in that you get the car washed before parking it for they can do some damage to the paint if you leave them where they splattered.

    UGH!!! Hate to hear about the love bugs. We got into them one time going to Destin Fl, but at least we knew not to use the window washer or wipers on the car otherwise we would have had a big smeary mess. We saw some cars that had to pull over because their windshields were one big blob......guess they must have been "love bug" newbies.......:D

     

    Thanks for the heads up....my husband will be thrilled....:o

    Hey Shirley.......our Disney Dream cruise is finally here......:D :D :D

     

    We will be arriving in your area late Saturday evening. My granddaughters dance recital is that morning and we wouldn't miss it for the world, so we won't be leaving Georgia until 2:00pm that afternoon........:eek:

     

    Thanks again for all your help......we look forward to being in your beautiful area again!!!

    Disney getting too expensive for families

    We are about to embark on our 2nd Disney cruise to take our granddaughters, but due to the prices they already know it will be our last.

     

    Disney makes a wonderful product and for that I am willing to pay the higher price to make sure they have the "magical" experience, but I could never afford to sail Disney on a regular basis.....it's just too expensive.

     

    But we look forward to sailing on the 22nd and plan to have a trip of a lifetime. I do envy those of you who get to sail Disney regularly....you really do need to thank your lucky stars!!!

    On one or our cruises we had come back from port very early and were sitting on our balcony reading. The guy next door comes out and I guess he thought everyone else was still in port because he proceeds to pass gas.....:eek:

     

    The first time I just looked at my husband and said nothing. The second time I was trying to laugh without making any noise. But the third time, which was his biggest one yet, I just burst out laughing and said "OMG"!!!!......:eek:

     

    He ran back inside his cabin and I don't think he ever used the balcony again.

    We will be back in your area for our May 22nd "Disney" Dream cruise and then we'll be back in October for our "Carnival" Dream cruise. (WOW.....two "Dreams" in one year.....how blessed are we???)

    Diane the Radisson has plenty of land where they can create a parking area. I would imagine that is what they will do.

     

    Thanks so much Preston!!!! You just don't how much I appreciate the advice I get from you and Shirley......:D.

     

    The other day my husband said "you talk about Shirley and Preston like you know them personally". I just laughed and said "sometimes I feel like I do"!

    ANOTHER UPDATE ON THE RADISSON - YOU WILL LIKE THIS

     

     

    Dear Shirley

     

    First let me say thanks for posting the information about our new policy on Shuttles and Transportation to the port – All the transportation companies around here will be raising their rates to help offset the new charges that will be coming from the Port

     

    But secondly and really important is let me apologize for not getting back to you about issues with our shuttles – I guess I missed your message or just forgot – getting old and didn’t see it until I looked on CruiseCritic and saw your posting and that I hadn’t gotten back to you – Sorry Sorry Sorry –

     

    So let me share with you what we are doing to address some of the issue and improve our shuttle service and hopefully eliminate some problems

     

    We are bringing on more staff to help with the loading of passengers and luggage – immediately

     

    We are in the process of purchasing another bus – will be a 30 or so passenger size bus - we are shopping right now and will have this done and in service within 60days

     

    Lastly within 2 weeks I will have a dedicated phone number for transportation only and have it – for anyone that is having an issue (pretty much everyone has their cell phone with them) – maybe we missed someone at pick-up etc.

     

    Hopefully these things will help smooth out our people moving process and give everyone a greater comfort level

    I think my biggest concern here is that people who are not staying at the Radisson and only paying to park will take up most of the parking/shuttle spaces from those who have stayed overnight there.

     

    Guess I'll know when we go on October.......thankfully we booked long ago so our parking should still be free.......:D

    I will be going into Port Canaveral in a few months and read that no matter what room I book for the Radisson and COuntry inn I can leave my car for free? Is that true? I thought I had to book the cruise package, which is more expensive.

     

    The Radisson is free parking no matter what type room you book, but I believe Country Inn and Suites does charge a small amount for the shuttle.

    H-E-L-L-O...... SHIRLEY!!!!!

     

    One week from today we will be driving down to PC to get on the Freedom and will be staying at the Radisson.......I'm so excited!!!!
