Marvelous videos. I wanna go. I wanna go. This trip, like others on the bucket list, will have to wait for retirement. In the meantime, I might use you videos in my geography class, as they demonstrate different cultures quite well. Thanks.
You need to book this trip when HAL eventually add this itinerary again.
great remote ports

Greetings & thank you for watching.
yes it was a rare cruise that last happened 12 years ago on the Statendam.
very remote areas with some ports not visited by many cruise ships.
a surprise was passing the old Ryndam with both ships Responding with their horns blazing ( 33 mins approx. into video)
really amazing!

This vid brought back so many memories when I did this WWII cruise on the Statendam. Some of the ports were different then but it was an amazing experience. Thank you for posting.
Yes, that was a wonderful cruise as this one was. The first so much more memorable due to the moving services & WW2 Vets on board then
as seen in part 1 & 2 of the original video in 2008.
many thanks for watching

Another great professional video. So nice meeting both of you on the Maasdam last spring.
We would have to place this cruise in our bucket list.
Noticed the Chief Engineer, who was Chief Engineer on our past Prisendam cruises. Fine gentleman who loves his dam ships. Name? Escapes me!
We are a couple of weeks from cruising on the MS Rotterdam for 32 days. First cruise since the May, Maasdam French Polynesian and so looking forward to being back at sea.
Thanks again.
Bruce
Hi Bruce,
many thanks for watching & joining us. We do not know the Chief’s name.
enjoy your cruise on the Rotterdam

We used the HAL transfer service by bus to White Bay A$24 pp & returned from ocean Terminal to airport for the same price.
it was cheaper that a taxi or Uber for two .
a well kept secret as HAL does not advertise it. We purchased thru our agent who knew about this service.

I can always request the chef to make it for you on a formal night in Jan !!

Thanks for your reply, I wondered if it was scrambled egg. A good idea for the next time we have baked beans on toast.

Many thanks indeed
look out for the S.Pacific WW2 cruise on the Maasdam in Late September

Are you on board on the 28th? If you are I can arrange the chef to make you some!

Catching up with your blog and this thread, thanks for your postings and photos.
Bellair, what is the white "blob" with the baked beans?
LOL it is a breakfast favourite here...it is scrambled egg. A lot of American friends cannot believe we have baked beans on toast!

On the other hand, we sailed last Dec, Jan, Feb (56 days) in an ocean-view cabin on ms Maasdam in the Southern Hemisphere and had no temperature problems in our room.
Our drippy tub faucet was eventually replaced with a nice new fixture.
We loved sailing on this ship, especially with the In-Depth program and around Australia.
Four of our friends will be enjoying the next circumnavigation of Australia on the Maasdam.

Port Angeles, WA
No problems on our 26 day cruise from NZ to San Fran in May. Our cabin was great.
