I’m loving your review so far! Keep enjoying!
i also can’t read the daily planners, too blurry. But I always enjoy ship photos, and of course drink and food photos!
Yes, the menus and Daily Planners need to be at a higher level of pixels so you can read them. But really enjoying your review so far, we're on the Anthem in just 3 weeks!

I'm sorry but my counter was created here at CC, so it's ridiculous that it's now considered too big for the signature. Needs to be fixed!

All searches are being worked on. The computers are indexing all the content. It takes a LONG time.
Except the other 3 cruises for Anthem and November are already indexed - we're talking only 23 days away, now. And I believe the problem is because the ship name, Anthem of the Seas, is not in the title. That may actually require the thread being hard coded into the search response.

Well, it's easily find-able by using the main forum page to go to the Royal Caribbean Roll Calls.
As I said, some folks don't know how to find it that way. Besides, that's no reason not to correct the database error.

This would be the Roll Call, right?

Yes.

The following Roll Call is missing from the Searchable list, here is the breadcrumb trail. Please update the Search to include this Roll Call as we have people who are unable to find it without the Search.

Looks like this was fixed in the latest update a few minutes ago.
Yes! I'm so glad!

Yay! They fixed the Expand Signature! Now I can choose which signatures tomread and they don't make for huge, long pages!

That is what UAT testing is for... to get the bugs ironed out before you roll it out.
LB - who has done a lot of UAT testing
The problem is, often testers are too close to the new project and can't easily see the faults. That's why user beta testers are good.

I'm on my 7 inch tablet right now and I can actually read better than when I was on my laptop.

I thought signatures were "always on" or "always off". I didn't know you can turn it on/off for individual threads.
FWIW, I ended up turning viewing sigs off because even on desktop, those of you with dozens of cruises just took up too much space with signatures. 🙂 No offense intended. 🙂
In the old board the signatures were truncated so you only saw the full thing if you tapped to Expand. Wish I could find that on this new board.

What the? This post is from 2004!!

Well, that's interesting. I asked to be notified of replies for ONE thread, and now I'm getting notifications of replies for this thread.
-
I'm finding some of the signatures on the new board extremely long but I can't find a way to truncate them in my profile. Is there a way to truncate the signatures?
-
I don't know how I like it. It's the first time I've been able to look at it. It's been down all the time.

Totally false. The portion of daily grats that covers dining covers any and all dining staff: buffet, the promenade eateries, park cafe , poolside and MTD.

Thank you! I was worried that we wouldn't know whether to tip servers separately or not.
-
I read in another thread that the daily gratuities don't go to MTD staff. Is that true? It seems totally unfair, if true, as they're doing their jobs the same as other waiters and we're paying gratuities the same as other passengers.
-
Expecting 10s from staff is unfair. There are people out there who don't normally give 10s, I know some!

Anthem in 38 days!
-
This happened to us just a few weeks ago. We'd made the booking ourselves and found that the price had dropped a great deal. We had already used our OBC for a wine tasting and wi-fi. DH called RCI and asked about an upgrade due to the price drop. (We were already after final payment.) The cruise consultant offered us a guaranteed balcony, unassigned, or a Forward Outside cabin, no charge but no onboard credit. Because we had already spent our OBC, she talked to Resolutions. They okayed our keeping the OBC and our OBC purchases.
It could be they gave us special treatment because this will be our first RCI cruise, but I really don't know.

We're on the Nov 10th cruise on Anthem. We were able to book iFly on Aug 3rd. The spaces they make available for online booking were already more than half filled and we lost the time we'd chosen when we stopped to talk about it for 5 minutes, had to choose another time. People on our cruise can no longer book online, the spaces are full and it doesn't show up anymore.
At this point, you probably won't be able to book online. Go to iFly and book there as soon as you get on the ship.
-
Do you have to book a time for MTD? We have 2 days in Bermuda where we can't be sure when we'll be back onboard.
-
We'll let you know in about 50 days. DH and I are NCL Gold members trying our first RCI cruise November 10th.
I must admit I'm sad to see many saying the NCL food is superior, especially given the very high premiums RCI charges in their specialty restaurants. Because of the high premiums, DH and I might stick to the inclusive restaurants on our Anthem cruise. I would have liked to at least try Wonderland, but at $63CAD per person as a surcharge it's just not worth it. Highest NCL premium charges are only about $45CAD.
-
Hahahaha! Thank you autocorrect
I figured that was it. Really loving your review, and the tips are so helpful. This will be our first RCI cruise and every little bit helps.

After exploring Central Park for just a little bit we headed over to The Plaza. My wife was very excited to check this out. So we looked around the lobby and then made our way down stairs to the restaurants and shops at The Plaza. We didn’t eat or buy anything but there were some bathrooms we used.
Making our way back towards Times Square we passed Carnage Hall
I'm sorry, I was just dying with "Carnage" Hall! :'):')

All the menus and daily planners are looking great, now. And thank you for saying the iFly was less intimidating than you thought it would be. I'm really excited to be doing it in a few weeks but was feeling intimidated.
