  1. it is my crack, coffee drive thru, movie, Fit water, new CDs, ...... never dress down.......closet/2/tier..of cruise evening attire...basics..and transitional, as well as NEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. I cruise about 50 nites a year..always dressed to the 9s..as 6's and 7's wont do!!!for me at least! I cycle for the seasons. I pack it all in a 26 inch bag, nice n flat....steam if need to, and a smaller tote for shoes, wine. undies, wine, jewelry, wine, day wear, did I say wine?....and a small roll a board..I can break down to one to come home! As I repack more compactly. after 82 cruzes.. I got it down ?!!!!!?!

  2. Try using deodorant crystal instead of deodorant. It lasts forever and is super cheap. I don't know how it works, but it does.

PS, I've heard that it can be used on feet and under breasts for sweating too. Haven't tried that, but must work.

and still have yet roll it UP........$5.49.....I travel with a Mini one in a plastic jar. I've turned sooo many gals on to it. It is a natural salt....No anything else in it !

  3. I'm a cold beverage drinker @ dinner..and I dress fancy.....silky, linen, jeweled, velvety tops. while I am careful with my serviette placement, I'm not over the moon with thoughts of water dripping off of the footed glassware in my lap, down my girly bits, or lapels! A tablecloth does take care of that problem//so can I!.. I'll get an extra serviette, fold it neatly, and used it as the coaster..Voi La !..more laundry to wash !!!!!!!

  4. Are you on the right cruise line? Your own concierge is the concierge desk at guest services. This is not NCL, HAL, Princess or Celebrity!

to a balc, no obstruction....30 minutes after we checked in. Dude just said a Concierge......no matter to me...I am quite indy myself.

I've been used to Diamond perks for sometime...

  5. have 56 Carnivals, since 2006 , and a combined 81 with other lines, nearing 2 years at sea. I have one big perk left....an UG while booking, or 3-4th pax in the cabin free. I had considered this room for my next biggee b'day with 3 gal pals, so I can see how it might function for that.

Ug Fairy told me Concierge service....ok....no biggie, I'm very capable of doing my own things..prob meant the Diamond phone line/number. Whatever, I am ok with it.

  6. I have staged my evening wearables earlier in the day, and get a glass of vino, about 5-530, start the prettying process, shower, face, hair, vino, under-its,vino, jewels, pour new glass, dress, bag n shoes,,,,,mixed in with the mates doing her thing, tidy up the cabin, full glass o wine, find the music, dawdle till 8..in the DR door..on time for my 815. If it;s just me, 630..same drill ! Never late to return to ship, fit in a nap, set phone, I have never been time challenged on a cruze. Glad to see the new policy instrumented. more than 2 , or kids to dress..make a small scheduled.

  7. after finding an on line TA.....in 2006, and booking over 50 cruzes with him..Ive found A JEWEL, PVP that works out source for Carnival. in the week I was home from a previous cruise she found a pack n go, solo rate, for Monday and yesterday went from a 1A to a Grand suite....going solo this time..sorry gals. !Being a Diamond was am impetus...but.. Thursday she even called b4 to ask if there was anything else she could do for me. Teasingly, I said sure UG me, or OBC.....so the Ug Fairy sprinkled his dust y'day after noon !..Need to git packin !!!!!BTW, have been ugged many times b4 I was Plat, and Diamond....over 300 days now just w/CCL...Life is good, And , I'm ohhh so , lucky..so peeps say

  8. from a 1A to a Grand suite....going solo, and not been in a Grand.....What will "My own" concierge do for me ?..that I dont already do for myself?..will there be fruits/wine.. I get that most often anyway. The best part it that I am mid ship. I'm a Diamond level, but I'm still grateful for the free bee..cabin change .

  9. I started cruising on Sitmar in 1980, and my first Carnival cruise was on the Carnivale in 1985...swore I would never cruise Carnival again. It was definitely a step down from Sitmar. But there was an itinerary on the Spirit, that was too hard to resist in 2003, so I ventured back. Most of my cruising in the 90's was on RCI...I continued to sail mostly Carnival in the 2000's...

That being said, I have seen what I consider a very relaxed dress code. So much so, that people ask if dress jeans are OK on elegant night, even though Carnival asks that there be no jeans in dining room. But personally, if more people choose to dress more casually, and Carnival is OK with it, that's fine. There are plenty of other cruise lines I can cruise with a bit more elegant atmosphere. Some people don't like to dress up and that's fine. But I came from the days when cruise lines were a lot more formal than now.

I think Carnival is a great cruise line for newbies, and for those that are perfectly fine with the product...there is something out there for everyone.

I will be taking the Legend to Australia next year, as I did with the Spirit last year. But since I am 18 days from Diamond on RCI, I will be focusing on that, especially since I will get extra day points now for cruising solo.

And since I'm retired, I won't usually book anything that less than 14 nights...

I think there is a cruise line for everyone...There is no right or wrong answer.

nothing like it since..Did you know about the Sitmar FB page?..it is great..I am blogging w/ kids and grand kids from officers, etc , that I got to know w/ many of them...74 til 84 or so.....I get teary at some of the posts.

Congrats on entering the DIAMOND level..I"m 306 days, just with them sinve '06..many more odd ships and days......Sometimes I'm the only one, or me and a gal pal. Other than TA, 124, of us, never more than 6..cruzin Monday.. YOWZAAH!

  10. WOW 20 cruises..in 20 years. Brava !!!...I board my 63rd Monday, starting Sept, of 2006..combined with others previously..(20 years of Euro travel work prevailed).....I have over 450 days at sea on probably 20 vessels. Total of 81 cruzes. I still continue to cruze, and have 5 more booked,

Other than a fire....(Kudos to Carnival for both)..I have experienced, flooded cabin, power loss, cool lost, (2 weeks ago) H1N1wash down,

....broken windows....flooded shower.missed ports, exchanged ports, windy seas, extended days at sea, freezing cold, rain, thunder storms, lightening, hurricanes, cancelled entertainment, personal illness, missing bag, rude people, loud children, outrageous wardrobes..the list goes on......I was NOT the only passenger that "suffered"..all of these maladies....and I lived through all of it to cruze again

    NOW..Sweety Pie.........what WAS your major complaint ?

  11. I have 306 Carnival days, with 25 or so coming up....all since Sept of 2006, with other brands in the mix, and some other years past.....close to 500 over all. Still have my Diamond...2/3 rd in a cabin, or Up graded to spend, since reaching Diamond, but have used the 50% off csbin rate for a TA...life is goood...cruzin in 7 days....YOWZAAH !

5 of my very close cruzin pals are also D's
