That's it! I am going on the Allure for my 50th birthday in September!

Misunderstanding do happen
We book a future cruise for RCL and we believed we could use it also on Celebrity ( book it before we ever did a cruise on Celebrity)
Cannot use on Celebrity and really do not want to do RCL :(
One thing we are Canadians, so we can transfer them to someone else
Our maybe take the grand kids on a RCL
Oh, take the grandkids on RCI, they will love it and you will have introduced them to cruising = Grandparents of the year! I suggest Oasis or Allure!:D

Ok so ~900,000 cruise critic members and ~130 people who answered the poll so far.
You should do a poll for C&A members who are lurkers only.
I was number #478 - he's getting responses!

And Alaska, aboard a RHIB on an excursion from our Norwegian cruise.
THIS is why I use a dSLR, too much shutter lag on a P&S, 3 people on the boat got pictures of a splash!!
OMG - My dream photo! You have to post this in the "All you can see is water anyway" thread on Royal Caribbean!

Bob, I don't know you, but, you are one of the most helpful people I have ever seen on these boards! You take the time to explain things to novice cruisers and when they misunderstand, you come back and explain it again! God bless you for all you do!:)

Someone on this board, took a nice pic of the blue, blue water and printed out several to use for cutting out letters as headers for each page. Cozumel or whatever, you could tell it was water, very pretty!

Hello, I might as well be honest, I'm a lot heavier than when I started cruising (I blame it on the cruises!) Back then, women wore pantyhose which kept your thighs from chafing. These days, nobody wears hose on Caribbean cruises, so what do you do? Spanx are just too tight and non-breathing. Anybody ever try Luvees, Skimmies or Monistat Chafing Gel? That's what I found when I googled this problem. I don't need the "control" of the Spanx, just something between my thighs.:o:o

I carry a small purse...lipstick, tissues, comb...and your room key....I mean, in a hotel you would carry a small purse...why not on a ship???? Doesn't need to be huge...but you do need something!
...I don't carry lipstick, tissues or a comb...never use a bag on a land vacation, hardly use one at home, my only issue is the glasses...Maureen

I think it is time to start carrying a small day bag.
....But, then how can I have a Pina Colada in one hand and a Margarita in the other?:D...Those clip on/magnetic things look cute, but, I would still be aftraid of losing them overboard or sitting at the table and scratching them as I sat down. I don't like my glasses to be unprotected. I like to roam around on the ship a lot and do the walkathons, etc. I just can't see carrying a bag while doing that. Does anyone have a picture of themself on a cruise with one of these cross-body bags? I'd like to see how unobtrusive it would be. Thanks for all your replies (past and present)...Maureen.......P.S. It sounds like I need to get a new optometrist!

Thanks for the reply. My eye doctor doesn't like the Transitions glasses that go from clear to dark, but, I think I might get them just for cruising. At least I don't have 3 pairs, like you! My regular glasees are bifocals, so, I guess that eliminates the reading glasses. I feel like Don Johnson or somebody with my glasses stuck into my shirt. I don't know why they are so expensive, I am nearsighted (badly) and have astigmatism (sp?)...Maureen

Hello, I wear glasses and when I cruise, I don't carry any kind of bag during the day, I just put my Seapass in my pocket and go. My problem is when I am going from the inside to the outside, how do I carry both my glasses and sunglasses? They won't sit on top of my head, I don't want to wear a chain around my neck. I end up sticking whichever I'm not wearing into the neckline of my shirt, but, I am afraid of them falling off (or overboard) or getting damaged. They each cost like 600 per pair, so, I can't afford to lose or damage them ( that's 2 cruises, people!). What do other people do with the glasses they are not wearing, but, will need in 5 minutes?....Maureen

That sounds exactly like something Mary Catherine Gallagher would do! For your sake, I hope it was the last night of the cruise, I'd hate for you to walk around for a week with everyone pointing and saying, "Look, it's the girl who....."....Maureen
-
Another thing that I think about is what is to stop a thief from going through all the baggage that is put out in the hallways the last night of the cruise? If you lock it, they just cut the locks off, right? I suggest doing self-embark if possible-less stress...Maureen (again)

Hello, I don't believe the OP ever said if her DD had her name and contact info inside the bag as well. If she did, and noone has called, I guess they decided to keep it. If she didn't, have you checked your roll call to see if someone came back and posted they have the wrong luggage and can't get in touch? It's a long shot, but, I would check. Does Craigslist have a listing for lost luggage and stuff like that? I'm sorry this happened to your DD. I hope it doesn't make her regret cruising....Keeping my fingers crossed...Maureen

By the way, wolfcathorse, I always wondered where you got your name? I bet you can't guess how I got mine..LOL...Maureen

It was Carnival--there had to be more than one Mullet Guy!!

Well, that ended the conversation for 4 and 1/2 hours, didn't it??? Funny though!!

Hazmatt, You know, I went back to glocktalk after they pulled the thread and he was still getting reamed by his buddies. He came back and posted about how he wanted to strangle a guy on that forum who disagreed with him-what a loser! This thread got me thinking and I pulled my Cruise Compass from the Grandeur. The day we left Bermuda, there is a big notice at the top of the Compass that says, set clocks back one hour before retiring....Maureen
-
Hi Hazmatt, I remember you from the Filthy Infidel thread! We had some fun with that one before they removed it. Was it something we said?;) You will be told the night before to change your watches to GC time...Maureen

Hello, Loath as I am to disagree with Rancher Dave, I have always been on ships that had us adjust our time to the ports. That way, if you are out and about and ask a local for the time, it will be correct- you won't think, Oh, we've got another hour to shop. I went to Bermuda on the Grandeur 4 weeks ago and we had to change our watches to Bermuda time...Maureen
