  1. For a little more than the parking cost for a week , we stay nearby at the Maya one night before the cruise and leave our car there. The hotel's free shuttle takes us to the port and picks us up and we get in our car and are on our way without waiting in lines to pay and leave the parking structure.

It is more relaxing for us that way.

That’s what we did in April

  3. Greetings! My darling wife and I have cruised 14 days (now 15 day cruise) to Hawaii 2013 from LA once and also cruised 15 days to Hawaii 2016 from Vancouver once. Both were wonderful cruises, but in 2017 we took the cruise of a lifetime, "The 28 day to Hawaii, Samoa and Fr. Polynesia". It was simply spectacular and we had such a wonderful time, it would be hard for any other cruise to TOP IT!

Also, need to say Hi to Paul929207.

    Fair Winds and Following Seas!

    Just Mike

  4. We are stopping at these ports and don't plan on really doing much! Does anyone know if there is anything to do close by where the ship docks? Shopping? Town to walk around?

And, is it safe to do that (assuming we don't wear jewelry, etc)!

Thanks in advance for any info

  5. We are cruising out of San Pedro in 2 weeks, staying at Double Tree 1 night precruise. We will not have a vehicle. Looking for some suggestions for dinner. We will either use the hotel shuttle or a taxi so looking for something fairly close. A nice steak House or Mexican food possibly... Any suggestions appreciated.

The Doubletree has a shuttle that will take you places.

  6. Hi,

Sometimes the code doesn't work on your date.

Sometimes it is too early for the code to work.

Lately I just e mail the reservations manager to give her my info and get the rate if it is available.

    Her e mail is:

    jessica.jimenez2@hilton.com

    She has been very helpful!!

Thank you so much for your response! I actually sent her an email the other day and she was VERY helpful in getting us a better rate [emoji847]

  7. That hotel is in Wilmington...not exactly the best area and not much there...unless you are looking for auto junkyards, freight yards and oil tank farms....all pretty depressing...and, did I mention, not exactly a good area.

If the hotels in Pedro are all booked, I would look next at Long Beach...the convention center area only...of course, if Pedro is booked solid, that probably is as well...

So, next, I’d look at the brand hotels in the Del Amo Mall area of Torrance...a lot of hotels there...with a lot of shopping and restaurant choices nearby. Not sure if any offer a stay and cruise parking option, but worth asking...better area than Wilmington...not that long an Uber ride to the pier...If stay and park not available, just park at the pier... I’ve left my car there many times with no problems.

Thanks so much for the info! I'll keep checking!

We may just decide to stay at our time share in Palm Springs, drive to the pier in the AM and park at the pier...like you suggested

  8. We'll be sailing from San Pedro and need to leave our car at a hotel, but the Doubletree, Crowne Plaza and Best Western San Pedro are ALL sold out! Looking at the Best Western LA Worldport Hotel.

Want someplace that I don't have to worry about the car

    Any ideas or suggestions?

    thank you

  9. We will be driving to the Fort Lauderdale port for a RCCL cruise. I am hoping that someone can recommend a hotel that has a package with parking for the duration of the cruise. It needs to be in a safe area, please!

Or would you suggest parking at the port and leaving the car there?

    Thanks so much :)
