  1. Our Cruisetour was before our cruise last year so we packed one bag which contained things we would need on the cruise that remained on the bus until we arrived at the cruise port. Our other bag was delivered to our hotel room each evening and picked up each morning to be put on the bus.

  2. We were going to do it through RCI but it was way too expensive. My TA organized our group & got a room for our ceremony. We followed that with cocktails & hot/cold snacks -priced per person. My TA booked our group intp Portofino's for dinner and we were treated like royalty! My husbands daughter (my step-daughter) did the ceremony which was so much more personal. And one of our guests got us flowers. The total cost was a fraction of what was quoted by RCI.

  3. I totally agree with Budget Queen! The LAST thing I want to worry or fret about in Alaska is a dress code! I came for the scenery & wildlife and the ship is secondary to me. On our Radiance cruise in Alaska last August we did not bring anything other than casual clothes and ate most of our meals in the WJ. We also haven't done formal nights in years and haven't missed them.

  4. We will be staying in Port St. Lucie the night before our Oasis cruise and parking at the port. With the cost of the room & the port parking, it comes out less than the park & cruise hotels closer to the port! We also like to walk off and be able to get on the road home without the hassle of a shuttle.

  5. On our past two RCI cruises we have noticed a signifcant decrease in bar servers to the point that most times people just went to the bar for their drinks. MDR staff seem so overwhelmed sometimes and the length of time to actually eat keeps getting longer & longer. I believe the cabin stewards have been over-booked for several years now - may be getting worse. We are sorry to see all of this happening but realize not much will change soon.

  6. We just did the tour with the dog sled ride. We did not participate directly in the ride but did observe a family having their experience and they had an awesome experience based on the kids' smile when they got off! The "sled" is actually a cart that is pulled by a small team of dogs. The day we were there it was cloudy and damp but I didn't notice any spray on the clothes of the participants. And we did have ample opportunity to mingle with the puppies and some of the other dogs not participating in the pull. I would highly recommend this excursion!
