Whoops, sorry thanks for the correction. It is the January 25 sailing we have booked. It is indeed a Saturday.
Eclipse sails on Jan 11 and Jan 25 2014 and they are both Saturdays -
We booked the Eclipse for a 14 day cruise for January 2014, and it leaves and returns on a Sunday from FLL.
Will they be using Terminal 24/25 ? The disembarkation line up in 2012 from our Solstice cruise was miserable, and I'm thinking if they use this terminal again and with the effects of the customs sequester cuts it will be worse.
What do you think, will Eclipse use Terminal 24/25 for this cruise leaving and returning on a Sunday?

I agree that Terminals 24/25 were never designed for the numbers of people on the S Class ships, and that is the reason for the miserable disembarkation experiences. It is only going to get worse as the effects of sequestration are brought into play.
I fear that until Celebrity works with Port Everglades on improving/expanding the Terminals matters will only get worse. Sequestration will compound the situation.
We need to complain to Celebrity when we have a miserable disembarkation. Our survey only covers the on board experience. It is completed before the disembarkation debacle.
The other option is to vote with our feet and use other ports, or lines with better facilities.

My wife and I have both suffered through the "cough" and while just my opinion thought it may well be due to so many people forced into such confined spaces that results in the easier spread of germs.
This year before our cruise we undertook a regime of Echinacea and Vitamin C, and continued through the cruise. FWIW we also use the hand sanitizer whenever possible.
Neither one of us experienced the "cough" though we noticed many on the cruise with the ailment.
Coincidence? Who knows, but perhaps boosting the immune system was the answer.

This happens consistently and it matters not for us if it is HAL, Princess or Celebrity, all do it.
I realized this isn't my problem, it's theirs. What I have done each time is call, speak to the rep (whose name I write down) then I Fax to the rep(well O.K. now I'm into the 21st century, I email) the Visa statement and in the covering memo confirm the conversation with the rep they are to credit me the conversion costs of their error. Each and every time they correct their error.
I don't know why it is such a challenge, but now I accept it as part of the cruise experience.

Hi Kjaooo
I have just returned from a cruise on the Silhouette.
All you need to do is remove the hdmi cable from port number 2 on the back of the TV (the celeb feed) and insert your own hdmi cable into that jack. The TV detects the media player within a couple of seconds and you are good to go.
When you are done, simply remove your cable and re-insert the celeb cable, and you are back to cabin entertainment.
There is nothing else needed. The RJ45 data cable can stay in or not, up to you. The remote volume still works too.
RogetT could you expand a bit on how you did this please?
In Post #16 above I don't see a HDMI Port #1, only an open port. Because of this I don't understand what configuration you used.
Thanks.

I saved yours till last to respond.
At first I felt you didn't deserve one, but even grumpy old farts need a bit of love ;)
Did you ever consider our cabin may be the only accessible area on the ship for one or more of our party? You know, whilst you're down in the lobby dancing with the stripes, perhaps someone without legs might enjoy viewing the media of their choice rather than watching Celebrity promote their shore excursions and ship activities.
And I promise to reset the system to exactly how I found it before we leave - ok?
Good for you RogerT. Far too often on this Forum people ask a question, or make a comment and right away someone decides they are the "authority" and states their position as though it were some sort of Commandment. I hope you enjoy your cruise, and the movies watched on the in cabin T.V. bring enjoyment to all who watch them.

I'm sure you will like the Aeropress, we've been very pleased we discovered it. Clean up is a slam dunk, and if you are stopping in Panama or Costa Rica you can pick up local coffee to try on your way home.

If hitting a specific port on a specific day is critical to your happiness, you may not want to consider a cruise. From time to time for a variety of reasons ships on every cruiseline do miss ports, and when they do little compensation other than the refunding of port fees is provided.
Anyone who is cruising solely for the scheduled ports of call had better understand this fact before putting their deposit down, otherwise they may well be leaving themselves open for disappointment.
Chances are you will make every port, but if the ship does not make the port, getting cranky won't make it happen.

For several cruises we took a french press, and no problem getting hot water, the problem was the clean up mess. A few years ago I came across something called Aeropress, and picked one up. We take it on cruises now and find it much easier than the french press, and darn good coffee too. The used coffee grounds are formed into a hockey puck shape and just drop into the garbage can. Clean up is easy peesy

Here are some pictures of what the room will look like and the balcony.
The view aft while sailing is great, the balcony size is wonderful, (about 10 ft wide and 20 ft deep) and the room size is acceptable.
However be aware that you will have noise from above. Right above your room is the aft outside portion of the buffet and there will be sound from wooden chairs and tables being dragged around the wooden deck, some napkins will blow onto your balcony, along with the odd cigarette butt You will also likely hear the bar phone ringing constantly during the evening
If you can get an aft cabin on 7 or 8 that would negate most of the negatives mentioned or if these aren’t an issue, go for it.
