  1. I am boarding in Venice/Fusina in July - I (and others too, I expect) would be very grateful if you could post how your boarding process actually went. I intend to follow the SS instructions altho' only getting them 15 days out doesn't leave much time to plan, eg where to get an antigen test in Venice since I arrive a few days before embarkation so can't use my pre-flight test, but it is always useful to know how things happen in real life, rather on a bit of paper. Thanks in advance!
  2. I don’t think this is quite accurate. If you buy a D2D cruise and take credits for unused portions such as air, you retain the D2D T&Cs such as refundable deposit etc.
  3. Dresses are never mandatory for ladies. Dress pants and a top (of varying degrees of 'niceness') do for ladies for casual, informal and formal. If you want you can make it dressier for formal with a shawl or jewellery or whatever, but it's not necessary. Many of us don't own any dresses at all, never mind long ones. It's only the men who appear to have difficulty.
  4. Definitely keep checking - all AA flights during the Covid shutdowns until recently were in to T5, but I'm flying from PHL in a couple of weeks and that is in to T3, which I greatly prefer to T5.
  5. Try googling “rapid antigen test for travel in … (where you live)”, see what comes up. They’re still needed for travel to the US so there should be some availability somewhere.
  6. Read the email very carefully. SS says the P2P are expiring May 31st but also says that fares will increase Jun 1st. In the past this sort of marketing language has been used to instil a false sense of urgency when in fact nothing actually changes. They do it for most 'offers' such as 25% solo supps. They may mean that the current P2P prices expire on May 31st, not the actual pricing mechanism. So it may be that the P2P will go away, or it may be that P2P will remain only be more expensive, or it may be that nothing changes. Maybe SS has actually been listening to complaints about P2P? Maybe P2P isn't working well for them? Only time will tell.
  7. On My Silversea my next two cruises are showing a number of days missing and ports and dates not matching, to no discernible logic - I presume a computer foul up? The cruises are still unchanged on the SS website.
  8. Not to mention Sissister for Cirencester. And Lesta for Leicester. It is in Lestasheer that you will find Luffbra (another pronunciation of Loughborough). Then there’s the London Borough of Southwark, better known as the Burra ov Suthuk.
  9. Assuming a bus is running to time, or in fact actually running at all, is a bit risky. If it is running, it will reliably pick you up if you are at the bus stop.
  10. Well, so far the promised fare reduction has turned out to be precisely nothing. I will pursue it but more in hope than expectation.
  11. I'm on that cruise and the preceding one - I presume the Cape Verde Islands and Dakar were proving too difficult to deal with. So an interesting itinerary is now just Canary Islands and Western Med - been there, done that, more than once. I'm just waiting to see how much the promised fare reduction is before deciding whether sailing south in November beats the blah of an unexciting itinerary. Of course I'll find interesting things to do, any cruise is better than no cruise, but I am very disappointed, I like the Cape Verde islands.
  12. You don't forfeit it totally, the $250 is a future credit good for, I think, a year.
  13. Only you will know how you feel but there’s no need to feel overdressed, there will probably be all sorts of garments on display.
  14. Definitely not. Plain dress pants and a top that is fairly smart is fine. If the top had a sprinkle of twinkles that’d be a bonus. I often fall back on the non-sexist version of the LBD, ie plain black pants and top with jewelry and/or a pashmina.
