Many years ago while at dinner on NCL my husband mentioned that we were celebrating our dog's birthday that day. The maitre'd brought out a cake and she and the waiters sang happy birthday to our Teddy Bear. It was very sweet of them. happytotravel

Hopefully, we will have a Dutch cafe. I'm sailing next June and will be on deck 3 so nice to hear they will be working on the cabins there. I was on the Volendam this past June and loved her. She is just the right size for me. I'm not interested in the larger ships that are being built these days. Too much like an amusement park in my opinion. But, to each is own. I just wonder where some of these ships will dock as some ports are fighting against thousands of people descending on them. Enjoy life and enjoy planning your next cruise! happytotravel

Hello All, Is there a way to see a breakdown of the cruise price that I have paid? This would include the cruise price (I'm okay with combining the port charges) but what about the price of my HIA, choosing my own cabin and location? As far as I can tell this is only possible when doing the actual booking of which, of course, I didn't do. Next Question: When checking for a price drop should I just be concerned with the cabin fare? I do know to be aware of any promo changes. I would not want to lose any of them as I booked under Early booking. Thanks, happytotravel

So glad to read such a positive review of the Volendam. I was on a b2b in June from Montreal and I did find my cruise on her excellent. I liked that she is a smaller ship. All but one of my cruises over the years has been with NCL and their ships are now getting too big with too many things on them that don't interest me. I especially enjoyed the Dutch touches, the Orange Party and when they served Dutch food. The fresh flowers throughout were so nice to see and kept beautiful. I too have booked another cruise on her for next June. It's a repositioning, Fort Lauderdale to Montreal, and am looking forward to another excellent trip. Take care all, happytotravel

Hi, Also be aware that water from the minibar is not included. You can get your bottled water at any bar and it's included. Take care, happytotravel

I was on the Volendam in June and got plastic bottles from the bar.

If you have the HIA the water from the bar is free but counts toward your 15 drink limit like any other drink would count toward it. If you don't have HIA or the drink package I would bring my own recyclable bottle onboard. I do that anyway. Take care.

They are plastic resealable.

Just a note: The drinks in your room are not part of HIA including the 2 large bottles of water. The water was my mistake and got charged $7 each for using them. For your water just go to any bar and it's included in the HIA. Happytotravel
