  1. Celebrity have just started allowing OBC to be spent pre cruise.... when I got the email I did wonder how the new system would work with the notoriously bad website, but went ahead, tried to book a shore excursion and it couldn't have been easier.

    Hopefully, the same option will be available on Azamara very soon.

  2. I was on the Athens to Abu Dhabi cruise and the food in the buffet was very nice as was the main dining room. I also didn't encounter people shoving or being pushy. I guess you have to be patient with some people.

     

    We disembarked Constellation on 19th Dec as the OPs cruise began. It was without doubt the worst buffet we have ever experienced on any Celebrity ship......and we have sailed them all apart from Summit.

  3. One note not already covered: continue to check prices on your sailing often. They change pretty frequently, and as long as the cruise line's deadline for final payment hasn't been reached (it isn't dependent on whether YOU have made final payment or not; it's their deadline that matters), if there is a price drop, you can get it--but you have to call, or ask your travel agent to call, in order to get any changes. Sometimes, you will find that a category above yours (maybe consierge or aqua or suite?) is selling for the same price you paid, or even less. Each category provides extras that may/may not be important to you.

     

    OP is from the UK, so unless they booked through a US travel agent they cannot get price drops without forfeiting their deposit.

  4. I have not cruised for three years and cannot remember how long before I travel I should get my documents.

    Can anyone advise me, as I am looking forward to Christmas/New Year cruise.

     

    I see you are in the U.K, as are we.... and in our experience it depends on whether you booked direct with Celebrity or through a travel agent.

    We are sailing on December 10th, booked direct and received our edocs email about a week ago....just a few days after final payment was processed.

    When we have booked through a travel agent it can take much longer....they often quote 2 weeks before departure.

  5. Another vote in favour of longer cruises.

     

    We won't consider a 7 day... it's just too rushed and not enough value from the airfare. Plus there is a long tradition in Britain for taking two week holidays, it's just what most of us are used to.

     

    We loved our Journey cruise in August but have had to go back to Celebrity for our med cruise next year as there simply wasn't enough choice after excluding all the 7 dayers.

  6. We were offered a paid loyalty upgrade to a club continent suite on this weekends sailing of the Journey...:D:D...so will get to sample suite life for the very first time.

    I notice that a free bag of laundry is listed as a suite perk...will we get this in addition to the loyalty club laundry offer ( we are discoverer members)?

  7. Ok I bought some of the obc for £17.30 per item,bought $100 worth over the phone last week got confirmation then bought a bit more online also got another confirmation email.

    My concern is that nowhere on the website or in the confirmation emails does it say that each gift is $25.

    I'm worried that when we get on-board it might be the $ equivalent of whatever £17.30 is at that time.

    Can anyone put my mind at rest!?:confused:

     

    We have purchased Obc this way many times when the exchange rate has been in our favour....it is definitely sold in $25 blocks. No need to worry!

  8. We are on the same cruise and can access the booking online OK, we had to re add it to "My Azamara" a few weeks after we accepted the change but have had no problems since.

    We try regularly to re add it to My Azamara but still no luck!

    We have had an assurance via email that it will be fixed in time .....but I don't hold out much hope.

    In the end it really doesn't matter, but it is frustrating!

  9. 9th August cruise cannot do anything, book excursions, online check in etc. Been like thus for several days.

     

    Same for August 29th. We have had no access to the cruise online since they removed Istanbul from the itinerary months ago.

    We had to phone to book our Azamazing evening and for the first time ever it looks likely that we will have to check in at the pier.

    Sorry for not being clear. Bimmer99 was on silhouette taking photos of Eclipse lawn as they were docked side by side & Eclipse grass did not measure up to Silhouette's!

    I believe I can help here...

     

    We were on the 6th March Eclipse sailing. On the day we embarked they began completely re turfing one half of the large lawn area. The other half was available to use. On the day we disembarked they began re turfing the other half. So by now the Eclipse will now have a totally new, beautiful lawn. 😀
