  1. Thanks everyone, this is great and really informative.  I've done all the different classes on RCI so agree that it depends on the ship, we were on Vision a few months ago and someone on their first cruise was complaining it was boring and likely their last RCI cruise whereas if they were on Anthem maybe they would have enjoyed it more.

If RCI did a few different itineraries we probably would only cruise with them but we do tend to sail for the port rather than the ship.

It's nice to see so many have done both and no real horror stories so think we will give it a go, after all, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

  2. We did the helicopter dog sledding in Juneau last year, booked through Coastal Helicopters and they were fantastic, and a lot cheaper than the cruiseline, you can book online, we booked in person as we were on a b2b and booked the first time we stopped there for the following week.

The ship was in port all day long so did not have any worries about being back on time.

Skagway we did the Yukon train which was really scenic,

  3. Hi, We've done 40+ with RCI, we are going to do a Celebrity cruise later this year but have seen a great itinerary on Carnival from Singapore to LA.

Has anyone cruised Carnival and can advise whether it's comparable, I've heard good and bad but want 1st hand experiences to help decide.

Usually would sail RCI but have to look at other lines to see different parts of the world.

    TIA.

Don't think we could ever make that move, maybe from Grandeur to Oasis, but never the way you are doing it. Major let down. 😞

Could you have done it the other way?

We did Oasis to Majesty a few years ago, it was a big difference but a nice difference too, it seems that the bigger the ship the more decks are for cabins so once I've got a chair out on deck I'm happy.

Question for PCUR, we are doing a side to side in a few weeks time, from Liberty to Brilliance, does the ship give guidance on doing it as when I've emailed RCI they've just told me to debark one ship and embark the next one?

  5. Hi, we are sailing on Liberty next month and then getting onto Brilliance on debarkation day.   Does anyone know what happens, we've done a b2b on the same ship before which was easy.  Will RC send our bags over to the next ship or do we just walk off and then go and check in, it's at FLL so not sure about being able to walk there.  tia.

  6. Hi, we are getting off a ship in April and have a flight home at 1540 the same day, does anyone know a company that offers any excursions that go from the ship, a bit of sightseeing and then drop off at the airport, the cruiseline have none on offer, we've been to LA before but just don't want to be waiting around at the airport all day.

  7. We too are doing our first Celebrity cruise this year and another next year, we've done about 40 on RCI so looking forward to a different product, on RCI we are able to give our free drinks to other guests as it's a coupon for 5 drinks per person each day, as we will be all inclusive on these sailings are we able to gift a drink during the happy hour?

We are booked on the Millennium June 9th. Some excursions are sold out. Is it possible to be put on the a waitlist for it and when can we do that?

Hi, we did Radiance b2b in June last year, there are lots of reliable vendors offering tours in the various ports, we did a helicopter dog sledding tour in Juneau and it was over $200 cheaper per person.

I just got off of Liberty of the Seas on Sunday 9/18 and can confirm, there is still a free sauna and steam room in the men's locker room.  I believe Liberty is headed your way to Fort Lauderdale come November.  Also, as far as I'm aware, it's sister ship Independence of the Seas also has the same as that ship, along with Liberty, have not been "amped" yet.

We are on Liberty in March so hopefully they will still be there to use.

What about the ship itself? Last few sailings prior to Covid we did on new ships. They are all beautiful, though we don’t use “ bells and whistles”, but decor itself, cabins furnishings, restaurants - all were wonderful. That said, we did sail on their oldest ship, Grandure, in 2015 and I loved it, found it to be more “marine time “ type of experience then on newer ships, that are resort-like. How is Radiance?

We did a b2b on Radiance in June last year from Vancouver, she is older but we loved it as there are so many places to sit and look at the scenery when sailing, we also found it seemed more informal as it was such a tiring itinerary.

  11. Hello, when it was open to D+ they did have a continental breakfast in the mornings, now I believe it's just for suite guests and pinnacles so unsure how things have changed, the free drinks you mentioned have stopped for D and above between 5 and 8, now it's vouchers for 4+ drinks loaded onto your seapass to use anytime.

  12. Hi, we are cruising from fort lauderdale in March, first time since before the pandemic, we have always got a hire car with Budget at Orlando airport and then dropped it off across the road from the port and they've had a shuttle to the port.   Can anyone advise of car hires that still do this, some of them say Miami road etc.

Also, does anyone know of a transfer service from Orlando to Fort Lauderdale as this is something that would be good instead of driving.

I have googled but would rather recommendations.

    Thanks.

  13. Hello, we've been on Vision a few times, internally there is the Viking Crown, the solarium and also quiet spaces on the higher decks of the centrum where the library, the 'some enchanted' lounge was also quieter during the day.  Outside it is quieter towards the back of the ship as a lot of people tend to stay nearer to the bar or pool.
