  1. Posting this outside of the mega thread for more visibility, I hope. West Quay Cars gets a lot of recommendations on this forum, but not great aggregate reviews anywhere else (Tripadvisor, Yelp, Google, TrustPilot). The booking tool on their website is broken and won't give quotes, so I emailed them at the address on their website. The response I got back was from Radio Taxis, but did have the West Quay Cars logo in their signature banner. I found a Facebook post that said the two combined operations in September 2022. The email quote was £30 less than the next lowest quote I've gotten for the same car type for the same transfer (£140 vs £170), so I thought it would be okay. I inquired with them about a Southampton to London via Stonehenge sightseeing itinerary and the quote is much lower than the others I've gotten (£290 vs £500+). This raises alarm bells as "too good to be true." It's not even in the same general price range. Does anyone have current experience with West Quay Cars under the banner of Radio Taxis? It seems like it may not be the same as what built it a good reputation on this forum. The price of the Stonehenge trip being too low does scare me.
  2. Thank you. This is type of additional information that's helpful. It looks like we will have additional waiting at immigration due to age of the children, which I was not expecting, but good to know it is probably still going to work out. Sorry, I should have specified. For reserving/booking the transfer, I'd expect to provide all the information you mentioned. For a quote, they should only need to know pickup location, arrival time, destination, and number of pax/luggage. There's no reason to collect name, e-mail, phone at the quote stage. Out of principle, I try to avoid companies that do that.
  3. Can anyone with experience provide a little advice? We (family of 4 with 2 school-aged children from the USA) will need to go to Southampton from Heathrow Terminal 5. I see that the National Express coach is by far the best and cheapest option. Our flight is scheduled to land at about 12:00 PM. There is a National Express departure at 2:20 PM. Assuming "normal" operations, is this enough time to clear immigration/customs and get our luggage from baggage claim? Of note, we are seated at the very rear of the plane (a 777) and expect to be among the last to disembark. We'll obviously spend the extra fee for the Change & Go service in case of unexpected delays. The next coach departs 2 hours later, so while not the end of the world if we miss the 2:20 PM, it would make for a tougher afternoon and evening with the children after a long flight to have an extra 2 hours waiting at the airport. The other option is a private transfer (which is annoyingly difficult to get a quote for without providing personal information), and appears to be in the range of 3-4x more expensive.
