  1. It also includes fresh OJ in the mornings, specialty coffees and teas all day and bottled water.

I'm trying to figure out all the different drink packages. We have not sailed in 5 years and the only thing I remember is the soda package. lol UGH.

When you say specialty coffees what exactly do you mean? Regular grind but more exotic type flavors or roasts? Or something along the lines of what you can order at a Starbucks?

Isn't tea "free" on the cruise?

Is the bottled water the same as the top of the line package or do you get a larger one with that package?

I see smoothies not included. We are sailing on NOS. Can you get smoothies on her? If so, are the smoothies included in the top of the line package? (sorry I can't remember the name of it)

  2. If you stay in Galvez, Harbor House or Tremont hotels

Cruise parking with them is at the Galvez on seawall. Because the island was raised after the 1900 Storm , the island is 17 ft above sea level at Galvez and the parking garage is three stories on top of that. It would be safeist place to park at a hotel for height. They have shuttles to terminals!

Thank you. Will look into this option.

  3. Hey everyone. I'm really sorry if this has been asked before but my computer is being non cooperative ( like me old and tired lol).

On a 7 day cruise can you purchase this package halfway through the cruise and be charged just the remaining days? ( I am asking for a friend who is sailing on her honeymoon) I notice with Carnival both guests must purchase but I can't find the answer to my question.

    Thanks for your help.

CRUD!!! I didn't mean bottomless bubbles I mean the cheers beverage package. DUH!!

  4. When I went back to look at the options they had changed. LOL. Thanks for the replies though.

We ended up booking a family OV room on deck 6. I am surprised we got to book it but it was online so we snapped it up. This is the first time we are traveling with our daughter and since her friend can no longer make the trip we thought instead of her having to pay for an entire cabin she can just share with us since we are not in the room except to sleep.

  5. Is the 20 square feet difference really that big of a deal on the OV cabins on Liberty of the Seas?

Our party of 4 has now gone to 3...hubby, myself and our adult daughter. We have thought about changing our 2 cabins to 1.

There are 2 OV categories for 3 people...the price difference for the cabin is about $700 on the 2 different categories. One is 176(ish) feet and the other is 159 feet. We have sailed before but never with 3 in one cabin. We hate for our daughter to pay for a cabin by herself so thought this solution might work.

    Thanks for your help.

  6. Doesn't sound like the lady distinguished herself, but as my psychology lecturer at business school used to remind us;

"There is no such thing as irrational behaviour, only apparently irrational behaviour. All behaviour is entirely rational in the eyes of the person behaving in an apparently irrational manner."

Great quote. I think I am using this on my FB page today. There are people in my circle who need to read this.

  7. Try aquascubabelize.com they have several packages and get good reviews. Out of San Pedro but do accommodate cruisers.

Als0 look up Hugh Parkey's Belize Adventures. They have dives for cruisers too.

For just snorkeing there are a number of vendors offering snorkeling excursions. Just search this forum for snorkeling and you'll get a lot of threads.

There is a group of 4. 2 are certified divers and 2 want to snorkel. We were trying to see if there is something that would accommodate both of us in one tour. Thank you for the info I will contact the ones you mentioned.

  8. From Wikipedia: "Cronut is a croissant-doughnut pastry invented by Chef Dominique Ansel and trademarked by his Bakery in New York City. The pastry is made by frying a laminated dough in grape seed oil. The fried pastry is then sugared, filled, and glazed."

    That oughta clog your arteries!:)

LOL Good thing it's been 5 years since my last cruise. Actually my favorite food on a cruise is the fresh pineapple. But I have to try other stuff too. ;)

  9. Is there a private tour company that offers snorkeling and scuba diving? This is all we want to do in Belize...away from the crowds if possible. We leave in 18 days (yikes - last minute sailing)

    Thanks for your help.

  10. Hope to see you at the Cruise Critic sail away gathering in Outriggers Bar on Emerald March 22nd after the safety drill or at the meet and mingle on Monday, 3/23/15 at 10:30am at Adagios Bar.

I just signed us up for the Meet and Greet on Monday. I didn't know about the sail away. This is our first time sailing out of Houston so we will probably go on deck and see what the different sights are vs Galveston.

If you like ice cream, order the Volcano(a banana split) one night in the MDR for dessert(hint: pick your flavors from those made fresh that day). It's not on the main menu, but your waiter will know what to bring. See how many others at your table order it the next night. :)

Volcano? That sounds wonderful since I love ice cream. What do you mean "Pick flavors from those made fresh that day"? They make fresh ice cream every day?
  11. Thanks everyone for the replies. There are definitely some new things since we last cruised.

Eating in the specialty restaurants - the surcharge...does that include tip or do you tip on top of the charge? Crown...you can get lobster AND steak for the one charge?

The international Café sounds wonderful. Cronuts? What are cronuts? A must try it sounds like.

What is the crab shack? I didn't see it listed on the dining list. Did I miss it?

Did they offer the star gazing thing while on Emerald? I would love that. I assume the dim the lights on the ship so you can see the stars even better???
