  1. Bird lovers - can you identify these little guys? maybe native to the US or Caribbean, not one but a whole family, we noticed them everyday aboard the Oasis, mainly in the Central Park area.

Would you think that they have been introduced artificially to keep insects & pests to a minimum amongst all that greenery, or are they just hijackers of a perfect environment?

    Interesting!

  2. I ran into Ross to check out what they had and got this simple dress for $19.99. It is a lighter shade of blue than it looks in the pic, and the front is like an attached open jacket. Just pulls on over the head and very comfy and easy, but looks dressy and flattering. No slip necessary with the two layers of skirt material. I 'm thinking it would do for both formal nights. I wore a dressier cocktail dress for one of the formal nights on my last cruise, and had to worry the whole night that the plunging neckline was showing my bra. I think this one will be worry-free but still make me feel special. cruisedress.jpg

I saw this at my local Ross. They had it in my favorite color, purple. It looks nice and I think it will be perfect for your cruise. I think people are getting more relaxed about formal nights since the airlines are charging for bags and the weight limit restricts everything. Soooo, if you don't feel like wearing it 2 nights it's all good! ;)

On our last Voyager of the Seas cruise we told our waiter we would not be coming in for dinner on the formal nights because we did not bring formal wear. She said not to worry about it that we would not be denied to the dining room. She was right. We saw everything in there, from formal gowns/tuxes to what would be worn any other night!

  3. This sounds like a fun thread. I am in if there is still that "challenge" and mileage goal.

I actually just signed up to do a half marathon . I am NOT a runner but trying to get there. I walked a half marathon in November and my goal for the one I am doing in March, Dallas Rock and Roll, is to beat my time from the San Antonio Rock and Roll last November. I've been a slug since November so this is NOT going to be easy. But I figure even a minute less beats my time and I have achieved my goal. Although, I really would like to cut at least 30 minutes off my time.

Cruise Cat, when you do your times on the tread mill what speed are you going? Seems to me that 99 minutes and 6.4 miles is AWESOME! That's a 10k!

I didn't find the black one. But there are so many black dresses and the pictures are small.

The black dress has disappeared into thin air!

  5. Totally agree Mondo was the clear winner.

Can't stand Gretchen or Ivey, but I do know the producers are probably setting them up when they do the on camera interviews. My niece has been on 3 Food Network cake challenges and she is on the edge of her seat when the shows air because of the interviews. The producers can "spin" the interviews.

I just wonder what Gretchen thinks about herself since the show has aired. I'm sure she thinks of herself as a victium.

Have to brag a little.....niece won 2 or the 3 cake challenges. So proud of her!!!!!

Congrats to your niece. I have seen a couple of the cake challenges, who is your niece?

I agree about the set up in the interviews but like you Gretchen and Ivy really irritate me. I love how almost every week when they show them talking in the waiting room while the final 6 are on the runway and Gretchen is giving her opinion of who is on top/bottom. I don't think she has gotten it correct yet! For me, this season of designers is kind of boring. No one is standing out to me yet.

    Larry

    Thank you so much!

Silly question but..because of the exposure length is that why there are no people in your memorial shot or were you just lucky and noone was around?

  7. There is a lesson we can all learn from this camera saga:

    1. Put an address label on the back or side of your camera that includes your cell/phone # and email address.

    PLUS

    2. On your computer type your name, address, phone, email address, etc. in big print and then take a picture of it. Then anyone scrolling through the pictures will find your information.

Should you lose your camera, any honest person will be able to easily get it back to you.

Very good points BUT if the owner had done that Aquahound would not have been able to entertain us the way he had. And I for one sure did enjoy the turtle video!

Good job Aquahound. And good job to the scuba board folks as well. I read all through that thread as well.
