  1. The only overpacking I do is OTC meds. I have everything anyone on board might ever need! Cold medicine, Dramamine, Imodium, Tylenol, ibuprofen, sunscreen, aloe, pepto, ambesol, benedryl, bandages, moleskin, antiseptic. You name it, I got it. I can wear outfits more than once & wash stuff in the sink but no way am I gonna be without an OTC!!
  2. IMO, and in MHO only, the base wages of a land based wait staff is lowered in anticipation of the difference being covered by tips and, at least in the case of good/better restaurants, that tip is shared with the busboys. This was the case back when my mother was a waitress at a higher end restaurant. At a hotel, there is no presumption of tips and wages are not based on receiving them (although tipping the cleaning staff is pretty common). On the ship, all parties who receive some of the auto-grats must have their wages adjusted for them. The $3 allotted to the laundry staff (made up amount) is factored into their base pay. If one were to remove that daily tip & only give to face to face staff, the laundry folks’ wages are reduced. Now I’m not saying it’s our fault that the system is set up this way. But since it is, are we not penalizing those stuck behind the scenes if we only tip those with whom we interact?
  3. But the they would have to submit their one and only certified Birth Certificate to apply for the passport precruise with the possibility of not getting even THAT back in time. This is why most here are suggesting just use the BC & DL now & deal with the passport later.
  4. In March, there was a woman who appeared to be sailing solo and was a Pinn. The staff in the SL and CK were tripping over each other to get to this woman. Never saw so much bowing & scraping in my life!
  5. And of course we’ve kept this going for 4 pages with no hint of OP returning with updates.
  6. I’m sorry, you got a refund to your CC and didn’t notice? I guess I am just way more anal retentive about my finances. I check all my accounts several times a week (ok, I lied, I check them all daily). They’re all available on my phone and I pull them up with my morning coffee. Having seen a refund to your CC, how would you not think the FCC was in error?
  7. You are going to a private island, not gonna get left behind. Puerto Rico is in America (cue West Side Story 🎼). So St Maarten is the only place you could POSSIBLY have an issue. Take the BC & DL.
  8. Were you entitled to a 25% FCC bonus? I would think you’d know.
  9. Do all the sofas turn into beds?
  10. Get there early, the bar is beyond tiny and the barstools very uncomfortable. We watched the WS there & it was a madhouse.
  11. Bonaire was our least favorite stop of the ABCs last month. A passing weather system cancelled out snorkeling trip and, as far as I could tell, there is nothing else to do there. We got talked into a bus tour of the island that was a nightmare. Crowded, stuffy, driver prattled on and on about I don’t know what. After 3 hours, we begged to be returned to the ship. He said anyone who wanted to stay on could go to a beach. I don’t think anyone took him up on it.
  12. So then I need the legal argument explained. Isn’t the person stowing wine against policy the negligent party? Always wanted to go to Law School, was never able to.
  13. How is this Royal’s fault? Someone, against policy and undoubtedly without Royal’s knowledge or permission, put wine in their checked bag. Clearly not protected properly, one or more bottles broke, soaking adjacent bags. How is Royal responsible?
  14. I still can’t believe cross packing is a novel concept. To me, it is Packing 101. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ Would love to hear from OP.
  15. And for parties of 6 or more, automatically added gratuities are pretty common.
  16. I don’t think I’ve ever stayed at any hotel that won’t hold our luggage early or keep it after check out if asked. Have you actually been refused? Have always been able to use hotel amenities as well.
  17. So OP, when did this happen? Are you on board right now? What, if anything, has been done for you?
  18. Do you know whose bottles they were? I might politely ask GS if they could help with some complementary laundry services. FWIW another reason I always have my clothes wrapped in plastic bags.
  19. I always went with cost. Off site is cheaper so we did off site. Last PC cruise I just didn’t have what I call the “bandwidth” to deal with it so we parked at the terminal. OMG HALLELUJAH!!! What a breeze! More than worth the cost for the convenience.
  20. It can be done through the CP but don’t know how. You could always call. I used the Crown & Anchor number this morning & only waited 5 minutes for a rep to answer the call.
  21. $67.99 is the absolute lowest we’ve been offered. Really thought we were gonna have to take the $72.99. It’s not a ton, maybe $6 pp pd but it adds up.
  22. After the initial price of $62.99 for the DBP disappeared early in the BLACK FRIDAY sale fiasco, it reverted to its normal $72.99 on sale $77.99 off sale pattern. I didn’t bite. Today, a new sale dropped as did my DBP, to $67.99. Grabbed it for all interested parties and was able to call C&A number (5 minute hold) & get my daughter the refreshment package only. Lowest I’ve seen since we booked and each cabin had a good amount of OBC so I think we did very well. Might be worth a look if you passed on the Black Friday sale.
  23. We had written instructions in our cabin on Harmony in March, I made my son set everyone up 😁
