  1. Just for everyone's info, my son Greyson is planning on hiding pigs on the cruise ship rather than ducks. It really was just to give him something to do in case he got bored. We have created a facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/215689998145737 where you can go to post a photo if you find one and so he can keep track. Looking forward to 'meeting' those that are lucky enough to find a pig.
  2. The aft cabin we have is definitely the larger balcony. I have checked this already 🙂
  3. We chose not to bid on the regular mini suite as we know that they would probably put us in a not nice location. So we thought if we were going to do it would rather one we know will be in a good location - hence the reserve collection. I had to laugh at your comment to not take it so you can have it hahahaha.
  4. We are currently in an AFT premium deluxe balcony cabin and we have bid on the Reserve collection minisuite, but we have been advised by princess we would have to up our bid $4,000 (for both total) to secure the minisuite and we don't know if it is worth the extra money. We are platinum members so already get priority boarding/disembarkation. Only benefit I see that would be nice would be the extra room in the cabin. We will be on a long cruise so just wanting to get opinions on whether others think it would be worth it or not. We are a couple with a child. Thanks in advance for your opinions. :)
  5. It is on the Princess website when you book the cabin. We have one of these cabins for our upcoming cruise on the Majestic in April and I was worried about the same thing but have been told by many cruises who have used and loved these cabins that it isn't true. Perhaps Princess needs to rectify this. 🤷‍♀️
  6. Thank you. We took celebrity on a similar cruise, that did not go to NZ and ended in Hawaii so really looking forward to this longer one. Also looking forward now, to having this cabin 🙂
  7. Awesome thank you. We have gone ahead and booked as all reviews seem to be great for the bow. I can't wait. Now the long countdown begins. 🙂
  8. Yes I did read that about the curtains. Again not going to be a bother to us as we would have them closed anyways at night. I never liked to keep the balcony door open. 🙂
  9. Ah ok you had me worried for a moment hehehe.
  10. I have booked it tentatively for three so there must be a fold out bed?? I don't mind not having the door open for the cabin, but just wanted to know if they were ok to sit outside on the balcony or if it usually is just too windy for that. This particular cabin has a large balcony whereas if I go for a side cabin the balcony is regular sized. I also don't mind the walking as one has to get rid of those extra food calories somehow hehehe.
  11. Not sure what you mean by this? I know there are a lot of sea days. Does this have bearing on the cabin choice? Sorry I have the flu and not really understanding what you mean by this 🙄
  12. Hi, sorry didn't even think about naming the ship etc. It will be on Majestic Princess Cabin M101 sailing from Sydney to Vancouver in April 2024. We do not get sea sick no matter how rough. It was more about what the balcony might be like and use of it being right on the bow.
  13. Just wondering if anyone has experience with cabins facing the front ie right at the front of the ship. We are able to book either one at front of the ship with very large balcony or one on the side of the ship and not sure which would be the better choice. Anyone have any insight? Thanks
  14. We never have devices on a cruise with our kids. So many times we have been on cruises and at dinner when we all come together we have so much fun and laughter. One cruise we went on the table next to us (2A and 2K probably in their teens) spent their whole meal with their faces in a tablet and didn't talk hardly at all. It was so sad and we were all having a blast. I am so glad that I posted on this forum about this as it has made me realise that we don't need a kids club, it was really just something to fall back on. We are really going to have such fun spending time with our little fellow.
  15. Yep this is my kid. He can make fun with anything. He has never had those things on any of the cruises we have been on so far. And when I think about it, the last cruise we went on he had a cold so we didn't send him to kids club and all was well 🙂
  16. We can make our own fun. He loves to be with us. He would live in the pool if he could. We will take cards and a few small travel games, and things for him to do. I have decided to take 25 small gifts that he can have one each day. There is of course TV and the ipad but we hope not to take advantage of those too much. I think it will be a good experience for us all to switch off the devices and keep ourselves entertained. I mean heck, we are on a cruise!!!!
  17. This will be our eldest. He has been on a lot of cruises as he grandparents took him each year as well 😮
  18. He is actually a really good kid and I would never allow him to be a nuisance to others. We would leave the dining room before I allowed him to annoy other people. But I understand this isn't the case for everyone with kids. I have been on cruise ships where the kids have run amok and it made our cruise far less enjoyable even with kids ourselves.
  19. Thank you everybody for all your wonderful comments. We are going to go for it regardless. We will take lots of items to keep him entertained, cards like uno as we like to play that, puzzle books, colouring in etc and we will just have a ball with him. He loves to swim and we love being by the pool so win/win. We will just treat it like we are at home with him except much more exciting to be on the sea. I am so grateful for everyone's ideas and responses to this and I feel like we can make it work and it will be a blast. Thank you again.
  20. Thank you for this. I have asked my agent to check for me. Yes it is made up of a couple of shorter segments so maybe we are lucky. I have never sailed HAL before, the only reason we picked it because the dates suited for where we are going. We are actually travelling to the USA and thought we might sail instead of fly this time. I really am hoping you are right and it does have the kids club as our son won't mind being the only child in there. But hey if there isn't a kids club, then we will do as we usually do and keep him entertained.
  21. So I have had this cruise booked for the longest time and paid the deposit for three of us (two adults and a five year old). I was looking through some stuff online and just discovered they say that cruises 25 days or longer don't have a kids club. I am really quite annoyed as it doesn't say it in the kids club area it was kinda in another random area and I only happened upon it by chance. I wasn't told this when booking either. So my question is, is it true? And if it is they say that there will be some activities for kids on over the days but I am wondering how limited it is. I am really worried that my 5 year old is going to bored out of his brain. And we aren't going to have a very great holiday.
