Well, it looks like I've reached the end of that set of pictures. Afterwards, I went and stood at the bus stop and waited for the next airport express bus to arrive. It's truly the easiest, as well as cheapest way to see Miami Beach if you have a good aptitude for walking once you get there.

I need to try and find the pictures of the other time I took the bus up to the Bay Harbor Islands to catch a glimpse of Dexter's apartment. I could only get photos of the outside, and not the actual balcony or courtyard. The residents there are tenacious about people trying to sneak in there to get a picture.

I've considered trying to rent a jet ski or charter a small boat, just so I could get a picture of the actual apartment...

The next set of photos on my phone are of my next cruise a few months later on the Norwegian Getaway. I may start another thread over on the NCL board, to try and keep busy. Since this cruise, I've pretty much switched back and forth between Carnival and Norwegian. I enjoy things about both lines, and I'm just as happy on either one.

Hopefully my little rewind adventure brought a bit of memories back. I know it did for me... I just can't wait to get back on board anything at this point.

Thanks to all of you for reading, and I'll try and continue tommorow with the Norwegian cruise.

They're calling for a shut down here in Atlanta starting at noon today. Looks like another week of watching DVDs and day drinking.........

Hey Sid...did you ever make it back to see Dexter's apartment? I've never had time to explore Miami but I would definitely love to see that.

Hang in there for the shut down. Stay in place here in Cherokee County but I work at Lowe's in Woodstock and every single person in the county is here getting mulch and plants and misc "essential" items because they're bored. Uggghhh.....

More pictures and memories soon to keep me sane.

  2. The menu's are the same fleet wide meaning that day one on any 5 night cruise has the same menu regardless of which ship you are on. The only difference would be which night is your elegant night so they days may be switched up a little. I would just search by 5 night menu.

  3. I was on Sunrise 3 weeks ago. The ship decor is beautiful and the staff is super friendly. The buffet area always had tables available but was extremely warm. The areas near the doors are very narrow because the drink machines are just inside. It’s a one way line when someone is standing there. If your cabin in “above” Lido, it will be over other cabins. If it’s below, you will hear some noise early if deck chairs are being moved. Cabins near the elevators will be quiet but the drunks on their way back after a night out will not be. You’ll have a great time because who’s in their cabin that much anyway! Enjoy

Thanks for reading, beshears... I've cruised on all of NCL's mega ships from the Epic forward, and I've always had a good experience...  The new Encore marks a change in the Norwegian experience, with the addition of the race track and the laser tag replacing Spice H2O... I like try out the new ships soon after they come out to form my own opinions...

Sid...you love adventure and thrill, but have you ever done the ropes courses, sky rides or zip lining at sea? Do we need to double dog dare you?

I wanted to put my shoes back on, but of course they were covered in sand... I found some shade, and I pulled out a bunch of handy wipes, and tried to get all the sand off... It really wasn't going so well. I finally just decided to go ahead and put them on. There was no way possible that I was going to make it on that hot asphalt.

Put a small thing of baby powder in your survival kit. Takes all the sand off instantly.

Thanks! I cruised the first week of December last year and I’m doing it again this year. I really liked the Christmas theme. Even though I had been on the same ship a few months earlier, it seemed totally different with all of the Christmas activities.

Since it’s during football season, the scheduling has to work out for me. This is two years in a row they have the Saints vs. Falcons on thanksgiving night so no game the first weekend of December.

I love the Christmas decorations too. Kinda weird to come back to the ship from the beach and see the trees, lol, but it’s a great vibe. I’m looking forward to football season too! Rise Up!!

  7. The last 2 cruises I've been on they didn't even check to see if I had wine. As long as it says it's a wine product, you shouldn't have any problems. TSA doesn't check and the Carnival Rep behind the counter probably won't ask about it anyway.
