  1. Always busy, esp during the summer. Took a visitor there in July and couldn't believe the line for Starbucks, almost around the block. She asked me if the coffee was 'special' for all the people waiting in line~it's the 'original' Starbucks store is all. Just past the fish throwers around the bend and on the right side is a donut kiosk. Little donuts and oh so good (and I don't eat donuts as a rule). Oh, be sure and grab a sample of Ellenos Yogurt, wonderful stuff. It's across from the actual Pike Place, just before the Starbucks.

    Have fun!

  2. I'd recommend (if you can afford it) to stay downtown. There's a Marriott below Pike Place, the Market Inn about a block from Pike Place.

Lots to do in the Pike Place area. Agree about Chihuly and the Space Needle (living here, that one is a been there done that kind of thing.

Seattle is a very walkable city with lots of characters around. I have never felt unsafe in the city. Also second getting some flowers for the ship, just check the prices, they do vary.

  3. Can you give your TA a visit in person? Does the TA have someone over he/she? I know how frustrating having a bad TA is. Our current TA is new, no biggie since it's a simple cruise for us, no flights involved, a week in Alaska. Every question I've ask has been a "I'll have to get back to you", which she never does. I just post my question on this board to get it answered now. Last cruise was with an experienced, professional agent, so we're really missing her!

  4. what if our OBC credits are not recorded, correct, etc.? Should I feel comfortable with the paper print out as proof?

Also, we have some many minutes of free internet. How do we make sure we're utilizing that correctly and not being charged instead?

  5. I have researched river cruises enough to know they are not for me, due to my mobility problems. Anyone who has difficulty climbing stairs, walking up/down hills, or similar mobility problems should research their choices thoroughly.

Not all boats have elevators, and those that do don't all have elevators that go to every deck. Even if your boat has elevators, the boat you are rafted to may not, and that means climbing up, then back down, to get ashore.

Once on shore, it can be a climb up to street level.

I wish I could do at least one river cruise, but don't dare. I hope you can find one that works for you.

Ruth- you are absolutely correct on mobility issues on the river cruises.

  6. Hi all,

could you please advise if you'll get a big discount when buying the wine package compared to buying the individual bottles?

I am not sure, we'll be able to finish the 3 bottles so was wondering if it'll be more expensive if we just go by the bottle?

    Thank you!

To give you an example......North Star wine, it's available at Costco for just under $30.00, to buy onboard, around $125.00.

  7. Yes, they are still available. A form is dropped off and you check it if you would like them and give it to the concierge.

Apparently, a number of people weren't using them so they do this to avoid waste.

I was just going to ask about the corsage, we don't use them and feel bad being so,wasteful.
