I'm sorry, I know this has been asked and answered, but here goes again......
In the dining room are jeans allowed? I know on Gala nights it's no, but on other nights nice, black jeans, with a shirt, of course.
Thanks you and sorry for being so stupid.

Always busy, esp during the summer. Took a visitor there in July and couldn't believe the line for Starbucks, almost around the block. She asked me if the coffee was 'special' for all the people waiting in line~it's the 'original' Starbucks store is all. Just past the fish throwers around the bend and on the right side is a donut kiosk. Little donuts and oh so good (and I don't eat donuts as a rule). Oh, be sure and grab a sample of Ellenos Yogurt, wonderful stuff. It's across from the actual Pike Place, just before the Starbucks.
Have fun!

I'd recommend (if you can afford it) to stay downtown. There's a Marriott below Pike Place, the Market Inn about a block from Pike Place.
Lots to do in the Pike Place area. Agree about Chihuly and the Space Needle (living here, that one is a been there done that kind of thing.
Seattle is a very walkable city with lots of characters around. I have never felt unsafe in the city. Also second getting some flowers for the ship, just check the prices, they do vary.

Does anyone know the address or directions from the cruise terminal to parking at Pier 91, Smith Cove?
Truly can't catch the shuttle from parking to the terminal?
Thanks

Pinnacle Grill books up quickly, especially on Gala Nights. I just went ahead and booked prior to the cruise (and paid at that time) to assure we could eat there the evening we wanted. Can't do this if you're using OBC's. Also, with those pkgs you posted, can't get your reservations until you're onboard.

Can you give your TA a visit in person? Does the TA have someone over he/she? I know how frustrating having a bad TA is. Our current TA is new, no biggie since it's a simple cruise for us, no flights involved, a week in Alaska. Every question I've ask has been a "I'll have to get back to you", which she never does. I just post my question on this board to get it answered now. Last cruise was with an experienced, professional agent, so we're really missing her!
-
Thanks all! Will board with paperwork in hand.
-
what if our OBC credits are not recorded, correct, etc.? Should I feel comfortable with the paper print out as proof?
Also, we have some many minutes of free internet. How do we make sure we're utilizing that correctly and not being charged instead?

Back to the wine glasses.........I'm sure if you ask the room attendant, they'd be happy to get you some. Just a word of caution, one of our cruises we hit some terrible waves and the glasses fell and broke. Totally our fault fornot securing them, but a lesson learned.
-
Will let others answer your questions, but what an adventure for you! Enjoy.

Think you're too early. I tried booking Pinnacle Grill (dinner) for our upcoming Sept cruise to Alaska, so I just called the 1-800 #. Easy Peasy.
-
Thanks Ruth. So it doesn't really matter how many days the cruise was, etc? Not worthwhile letting Holland know?
It was a 16 day cruise.
-
Sort of just realized..........can we use our Princess past trips in conjunction with our Holland status? If so, is it the days sailed or the star status they use?
thanks so much, think I need to pay more attention

Only problem I see is once a Neptune Suite, you'll never settle for anything less.

I have researched river cruises enough to know they are not for me, due to my mobility problems. Anyone who has difficulty climbing stairs, walking up/down hills, or similar mobility problems should research their choices thoroughly.
Not all boats have elevators, and those that do don't all have elevators that go to every deck. Even if your boat has elevators, the boat you are rafted to may not, and that means climbing up, then back down, to get ashore.
Once on shore, it can be a climb up to street level.
I wish I could do at least one river cruise, but don't dare. I hope you can find one that works for you.
Ruth- you are absolutely correct on mobility issues on the river cruises.

Twice on Viking. Once to Europe (Amsterdam to Budapest) and once thru China. Love, loved, loved both (Europe a hair more). Small group of folks, zero kids.

Do you buy the wine package before getting on, and if so is it cheaper than buying onboard?
Sent from my iPhone using Forums
If you buy prior to boarding, you're charged when you order. If onboard, and you have any on board credits, can use them then.
-
Hi all,
could you please advise if you'll get a big discount when buying the wine package compared to buying the individual bottles?
I am not sure, we'll be able to finish the 3 bottles so was wondering if it'll be more expensive if we just go by the bottle?
Thank you!
To give you an example......North Star wine, it's available at Costco for just under $30.00, to buy onboard, around $125.00.

Yes, they are still available. A form is dropped off and you check it if you would like them and give it to the concierge.
Apparently, a number of people weren't using them so they do this to avoid waste.
I was just going to ask about the corsage, we don't use them and feel bad being so,wasteful.

Let them know you want a table for 3.

When I sent out laundry, on the laundry tag you fill out, I would put low dry, hang dry, etc. It came back fine. I did notice my clothes were 'gray' sort of. I've not seen any recent discussions concerning this, so perhaps it was an issue that has been resolved.

I renewed mine myself this Spring, took 2 weeks to return to me! I also got the Passport Card. Have used it for ID while flying, no issues. Live in Washington, one of the stars that doesn't comply with the proper Drivers liscense requirements, so think I'm now covered.

Don't know how I lived before I discovered Camp-Dry!
Yes on the Camp Dry. Live in rainy, wet, chilly Seattle and learned a long time ago to use Camp Dry as much as possible, esp. on our shoes.

We're going in early Sept and am planning on bringing a fleece vest and some long sleeved tops. Also, the trusty old rain jacket. Have some cheap Walmart 2/$4 gloves going to also bring along. We're from Seattle and this is usually plenty.
