  1. It's interesting that they are calling out the provider name of Prospect. Don't let that confuse you - it's just the regular airport wheelchair assist. If you have enough mobility to get from the curb to inside the terminal by ticketing, there are the chairs set aside where you wait for your wheelchair pickup. Otherwise, they are basically saying to call ahead if you can't get into the terminal on your own without assistance. That's when you'd talk to them about special arrangements.

I'd also suggest posting in Disabled Cruise Travel - you are more likely to find somebody who can share about this specific service at SeaTac.

If our Mariner discount can be extended to our son's booking that would be the "cleanest" way.

We are 4* so free laundry would be nice for the inside cabin.  Also we receive a $200 AARP OBC I doubt would be extended to our son.

In case it's cheaper to book your son in the Inside with single supplement, consider buying your son an AARP membership. Many younger folks buy the membership just for deals like this - there is no age requirement.

We don't have anything booked yet.  Not sure if we should stay DT or closer to the cruise port.  I'm a fish out of water on this cruise.  🙃

You might want to hustle and get that room booked. If you can get a 4-star for <$300, you'll have done pretty well.

Downtown for Pike Place Market, or lower Queen Anne near the Seattle Center if you are wanting to do Space Needle, Chihuly, MoPOP. Whether you stay in DT or lower QA, you can easily access the other via the Monorail. There's nothing really out by the cruise port.

On cruise morning, some people want an AM activity - others want to sleep in and head directly to the ship. If you do want an activity, breakfast at the Market is a treat, and I've seen many folks carry on a lovely (and cheap) bouquet from the Market to enjoy in their cabin.

  4. I'm assuming the itinerary is similar, or that you sail for the ship, not the ports.

If the casino is very important to you, I'd stick with X. Even being at slots in a corner, far from the smoking "side" on Princess - it's still pretty dismal. And if you want table games you cannot avoid the smoke at all. (Maybe it would be better on Sun, being new?) Hopefully, you'll be able to take advantage of a discounted upgrade to Premium drinks on X. The martini bar on X beats anything Princess has, in my book.

However, I do really enjoy ordering comp delivery on Princess to wherever I am, via Medallion. And I looove getting (included) cocktails delivered to my cabin. Princess Premier really does include a lot, it's pretty cool if you will take advantage of the different inclusions, like the included casual dining, 2 specialty dinners, etc.

If the casino isn't critical, I'd save my money and get more inclusions on Princess.

  5. I sail both X and Princess and will happily said either, but there are things I prefer about each. If I, from the US, were doing a NZ cruise, I'd probably pick based on itinerary vs ship. However, if you enjoy time (awake) in your stateroom, having a balcony will make a difference.

X - main dining food slightly better than Princess, buffet considerably better than Princess. Specialty dining on X a bit better as well, but the specialty dining pricing is also significantly higher than on Princess.

Princess - with Plus package, you not only get free drinks and internet, you'll also get included room service (vs the delivery fee with X). Given a hope to enjoy scenic cruising on your balcony, included room service for food AND alcohol is very nice. It also comes with 2 included casual dining meals (Alfredo's is a very nice pizza meal). The International Cafe is open 24 hours, good for late/early bites, and your specialty coffee drinks will be included in Plus. I also enjoy ordering food/drink via the app and having it delivered to me wherever I am, located via the Medallion. In general, it feels like you get more for your money on Princess.

On Royal Princess I didn't enjoy the lack of a disco/club. Dancing was in the main atrium and it was too much on display for my taste. I've found dancing to be better on X, including the Silent Disco.

I think you have a difficult decision and I'm not sure what I'd do in your shoes. If it were me, I'd pick the option where (I think) you pay less and get a bit more, which ends up being Princess. By the time you add in internet and some drinks on X, you'll be paying more for your OV than you will for the balcony on Princess. Unless the Edge itinerary is noticeably better, or course. Decisions decisions!

Well, I wanted to upgrade our Wi-fi to premium, two devices.  For half the price of the prem, two devices upgrade I got the Celebrity X-Pass.  The pass includes the wi-fi upgrade along with a few other perks.

    More Celebrity maths....  🤷‍♂️

I was very curious about this because in the Wi-Fi section, they are selling "X Pass - Always Upgrade Basic Wi-Fi to Celebrity Pass Premium Wi-Fi for $10.99/day. And there's a blurb about Celebrity Pass and all of the extras (upgraded wi-fi for 2 devices, priority boarding, welcome lunch, waived room service fee...). And on the VIP Passes tab they are selling the X Pass/Celebrity Pass for $38.99/day. Did you get anything in your confirmation that confirms you have the whole X Pass and not just upgraded wi-fi?

I was told I could not upgrade at all.  When I asked why, I was told about the SD and Prizes situations.  I did not ask about upgrading possibilities without those benefits as that would be a foolish option, imo.

I think we were on the same Royal cruise. We weren't Premier, but I'd have been bummed to have purchased it and then found out Prizes weren't happening. I know the odds of winning are low, but still would have been fun. I wonder if it was because the casino was open for such a short time.

I have Premier for another 3-day next year and I'm hoping that Prizes will be part of it. Regardless, we'll get value from the SD alone. But I feel like they should knock off a few bucks if they don't make one of the perks available on a sailing (or replace it with something else).

As well as lower insurance, you can apply OBC if you purchase onboard. FYI Plus does not hit your account until after you sail, so first drinks will be charged but you can have them removed.

This wasn't our experience last week. We purchased Plus upon boarding to use OBC. The upgrade charge hit our account almost immediately - many hours before we sailed. None of our early drinks were charged to our account. And, for those curious, we did automatically receive the $10 credit for the medallion shipping (I say credit, not refund, as we picked up our medallions at the port.)

I sure felt welcomed.  More than any other line.  Both by crew and fellow pax. And that as a first timer.  The most inclusive line of any I’ve sailed.  It was actually a bit inspiring.  Even my husband loved it and he is a bit of a curmudgeon. Great guy but a traditionalist for the most part.

As an ally (and daughter of, and parent of), I loved how queer-friendly VV was. I found it thrilling that staff could wear whatever uniform they wanted without regard to gender labels, that they were free to wear make-up or not, show their tats and piercings. It felt so much more welcoming and authentic, like they could bring their whole selves to work, and that guests were encouraged to do the same.

It's also the only line I've been on where I actually went to and enjoyed the evening entertainment.

I loved the restaurants and food, and while I missed the drink packages from Celebrity, I was also healthier as I didn't drink nearly as much. Yes, I was doing the math in my head on the additional spend, and that was a bit of a bummer. But my liver and waistline were both well served by that.

Sure, the staterooms weren't very plush, but I don't spend much time in my room (awake) anyway.

I do wish they had better itineraries ex-US and very much wish they'd send a ship to the west coast, as I'm not keen on sailing from Florida anymore.

I suspect DMW used both of your credits.  It shouldn't matter is right.  Seems odd for it to do that for cabinmates.  I cannot recall all of what I figured it was doing last Fall... which can be irrelevant now...  but I thought it was just not using other dining companion credits and using all of ours.  It also could be that the SD credits will work a day or two from now.  It's a black box.

That appears to be the case. In my husband's app, in the dining section there's a star and it says he has a dining credit. I'm able to reserve the 2nd night of SD in his app, showing the cost zero'd out. But then it gets the error that others have mentioned where it is unable to complete the reservation due to insufficient information. I'll just give it a try again in a few days.

If you are not Platinum or Elite level in Captain's Circle, then supposedly you cannot use Dine My Way (DMW) to book dining until after you have made your Final Payment (you can pay early of course).  That said, some folks have reported being able to make reservations in DMW who have not made FP and who are below Platinum level.  Personally, IDK if this is a system bug or if Princess has quietly modified their policy (but I do think some folks have also posted not being able to make a res, but it is hard to tell if they have run into one of the countless system bug-a-boos or if they are being stopped due to not qualified.

I'm a lowly Gold and have Premier for a cruise in May '24 - I haven't made final payment. Today I was able to go into the app and reserve one of the included specialty dining reservations, and it zero'd out the cost and correctly applied the credit. I wasn't able to reserve our 2nd included SD using a credit - it wanted to charge my credit card. I'll try using my husband's app later and see if I can book the 2nd reservation on his - perhaps it'll make the difference (though it shouldn't). Regardless, I have plenty of time to try to make that 2nd reservation. And as Steelers notes above, I shouldn't actually have access to book SD with my status and being before final payment.

I have thoughts on this too ... I also have the Classic package and keep contemplating an upgrade and these sales come around and the upgrade cost is never aligned with the sale on the full package which right now shows 35% off ... the upgrade remains at 5% off (I get better with elite discount) and I don't understand why this isn't 35% off too.  Why oh why is the upgrade not 35% off too ... ugh.

Equally they never discount the Zero package the same amount but this difference I can reason a bit in my mind.

I think it was the 4th of July sale where I grabbed the 50% discount on Classic to Premium upgrade for my cruise earlier this month. My May 2024 cruise wasn't eligible for that sale, but I'm hoping to see that offer come up again.

    Hi All

Similar question, we are on Solstice in October and wondered if anyone has info on Champagne?

    Brand?

Most likely bar to get it?

Our previous cruise on Constellation,  we had to wait an age for the bar tender to source it.

Continually trying to seve us horrible cheap fizzy stuff!

Definitely not Champagne (which is listed as an option on the premium package)

    Thanks in advance 😊

Solstice had M. Haslinger & Fils earlier this month, which I thought was fine. I was able to get it in MDR, Blu and Martini Bar. I was unsuccessful at World Class and Ensemble. Also the Domaine Chandon was widely available.

Why not just get a few waters from the bars and keep them in your fridge.

I plan to. I'm just gathering information for my companions so they don't get dinged with surprises. If ordering water via the paper menu will result in a charge, I want to let them know.

I'd also ask to be put on a waiting list for another Aqua room.  I'd also check the website every day to see what's opened.  Rooms do become available, even on "sold out" ships.  Especially under the Move Up program, rooms in specific categories may become available when people upgrade.

Yes, we've already got a move-up bid in and I've been watching availability carefully.
