Bah 😞 I wanted a new thread for people to see RCI's for what they truly are 😞 was hoping that someone would see it in a new thread vice buried here on page 14 😞 😞 😞
It's not about what you want, it's about what the rest of us posters have to slog through.

Ask yourself if you want to pay 40% more to see people in costumes .... or just for a one year old at that. You’ll be surrounded by kids your whole cruise. Don’t waste your money on Disney.
I would strongly disagree with this. We're Diamond on Royal and Platinum on DCL. We cruise more with Royal, but I'll scream from the treetops that we actually see FEWER children surrounding us on the DCL ships. There are more of them, but they seem (I have none) to be much more interested in staying in the kid's only areas. The kid's dinner parade being a big exception, but that is like 5 minutes of your trip.
DCL does a stunning job of keeping the two groups just that, TWO groups.

If you are 1 or 2 days short and about to embark on a 7-night or longer, I've known people who book the cheapest shortie just prior. They do that so they can just to have the benefits on their longer cruise.

Yes. You will be very bored.
I can forward you my details. Please change the name on your room. I'm only going to do this for YOU and YOU ALONE. But I'll take the trip for you and make it all better.

Apparently Spectrum 2 is also confirmed to be in the Caribbean.
That's odd.

I have no idea how many points they have, but the overwhelming number of pineapples that we've encountered were people you didn't want to know how many points they had. UGH.
However, I've met several here that were fairly normal folks.
That's the thing, normally the only pineapples you meet on the ship are the ones that make a huge scene about their status. The normal folks (AKA the best pineapples) just blend in with all the other people.
We were cruise-adopted by a (as we found out much later were extremely wealthy) couple who were pineapples who sail all over the world and must be fairly high up the list. They were the most down-to-earth folks. It was our first time being able to use the Coastal Kitchen. We were standing outside (likely looking stupid) and they took us in and showed us the ropes. They were so NORMAL that I figured they must have just been cruising since the 70s or something and gained the status the hard way. Regular clothes. Regular attitudes. Regular folks. We saw them almost every day and they'd wave or call us over to tell us about something they saw. We found out that they had some serious pull in that room because whenever we'd sit with them, every server in the room was completely watching for their needs. We had very normal conversations with them like we would with anyone even though they were likely closer to our grandparents age. Towards the end of the cruise he made some random statement and I went "OOOOH, that sounds insanely expensive" and he made some comment that instantly made it absolutely clear it wasn't even vaguely expensive to them. He just laughed and said his humble, poor roots made him a really bad rich guy.

Oddly, unlike the poster above me, I'm excited to try her AFTER the dry dock for the expanded features, the upgrades, and the overall improved quality of the ship. I almost went on her recently, but have decided to pause until the upgrades are done.

The worst party scene I ever saw on a ship was a giant quinceañera celebration from hundreds of girls from South America. It was horrible, but mostly because of the screaming and chatter from hundreds of poorly behaved 15-year old girls. They were everywhere and they were obnoxious. They also were dressed really inappropriately for children, which 15-year olds definitely still are. BUT mostly the screaming and woo-hoo'ing.
That's a party I hope I never cruise with again. I've never seen the stuff you co-worker talked about. I've seen some stuff at The Quest that might make you consider investing in eye bleach, but not general stuff like you mentioned.

I'm pretty sure US Pharmacist ranks up there with my best friend’s sister’s boyfriend’s brother’s girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who’s going with a girl who saw Ferris pass-out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it’s pretty serious.
He or she is quite important.

I, too, think you are apt to be fine as you are now forewarned and will use appropriate preventive strategies. If you wish to know if there is tape above your future cabin door, post the cabin number, and I will stroll past.
If you are walking around and want to check 10655, that would be awesome.

I was remembering when I went on Allure a few years ago and it was still in Orlando. I totally forgot that they are in Miami now. Guess I should wake up before posting, lol.
You're going to have to wake me up, because I'm trying to remember when Allure was in PC????????
I must have slept through that whole thing. Oasis is the only Oasis-class ship to homeport in Port Canaveral. Allure has been in Europe, Port Everglades, and Port of Miami.

If someone chooses to dress in a more relaxed style on a cruise, they can choose the buffet over the MDR for dinner.
IMHO, it is all about choices.
This same logic dictates that if you are cruising on a cruise line where people aren't living up to your standards and expectations that you should probably move to a higher class of cruise that does. It is all about choices.

I'm just always confused by people who don't want to do quite what is recommended themselves, but critique people who do less than they are doing???!!??
Formal night? BAH! I don't want to do that much! I'll go semi-formal. That guy is only dressy-casual! That's awful!
Formal night? NO WAY! I'm going dressy-casual. Oh my, those people are in business wear! How uncouth!

Can I just stuff 5 rolls in my mouth, coat my hand in butter and push the rolls down my throat with said butter hand?
Can I do it if I wear a sport coat while I'm doing it?

A group of 9 of us friends just booked The March 1 2020 sailing also!!! I'm curious with the addition of Sky Pad, The Perfect Storm, Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade, Sugar Beach, Laser Tag and an Escape room what they're taking out? The ice rink?
A helpful tip on the upgrades would be to compare the deck plans for Indy and Freedom.
I sailed on Indy about 2-3 weeks after the AMPLIFIED dry dock and although each ship gets tiny differences in upgrades, the two sisters should look almost identical after this upgrade.
The ice rink stays. The biggest changes are mostly all on the aft of the ship. The chapel turns into an escape room. They add the Fish & Ships to the pool deck. The ON-AIR becomes Playmakers (huge upgrade) and some other things.

This sounds like a wise decision, although it sucks for healthy people on the cruise.
The poster that is hiding their husband's diagnosis is the sort of cruiser that I hope to never cross paths with. ME ME ME ME

Ok, but the NEW one was moved to this one. And regardless, this needs to be split back into its own...
🤔🤔🤔
It absolutely does not need to be. This is EXACTLY what we always tell people to do, comment in existing threads on topics. The mini-modding isn't needed.
On a more topical note, my parents are going for their first cruise by themselves on the next Oasis cruise after this one. My mom saw the WESH news story (btw, that person was out of their mind in their recommendations especially since they claim to be sick and basically insisted they be allowed to do more??? WHAT THE???) and I've spent most of my morning making sure she's as informed as possible.

Majesty late arrival to FLL
in Royal Caribbean International
Posted
This is the second crew member in the past month overboard. I get that isn't really a true trend, but I think my point is the same either way.
