  1. Good evening. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. 3 good days. I like the quote. The meal looks good, I've never had a Cosmopolitan yet, and yes to the wine. I haven't been to Flam. I just recently watched a movie about Alan Turing and cracking the code. What a day. Raining off and on all day. I didn't sleep well last night, I think worrying about BFF. I took him to his appointment, and he will need surgery. Then we stopped and picked up a Frosty each on the way back to his house. The surgeon wanted a CT scan, as there may be a 3rd small fracture and he needs to see how large the piece is. So he called, and they said can you be here in half an hour? So out we go again. It's very hard for him to move around; I got a wheelchair and got him to the test. Then I drove home. I think a glass of wine is in order. I'm exhausted. @StLouisCruisers Safe travels tomorrow. Sorry to hear about your refrigerator, but better it happened before you went away. Lovely Flam photos. @grapau27 Thanks for the explanation of Europe Day. Nice photos. @marshhawk Good luck tomorrow. @dfish Thanks for the recipes. @Nickelpenny Hugs. I hope the surgery exceeds your expectations in terms of helping the pain and numbness. @smitty34877 I'm glad you're going to get more help, both from external sources and the younger bodies at home. Take care of yourself. @Quartzsite Cruiser Nice photos from Flam and Myrdal. @luvteaching I'm glad you were able to get through yesterday fairly well. @Haljo1935 Sorry to hear how the neurology visit went, especially with regards to the FMLA. @Cruzin Terri Feel better soon! @Heartgrove It sounds like you're having a fun time. @lazey1 I hope medication and diet will keep things on track. Sorry your son was forced to resign, but it sounds good that you will be there for each other. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating.

  3. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I've known folks with Thalassemia, but thankfully Thal Minor, which is less severe. Those with animals should have a disaster plan, and every day should be cruelty free. Very true quote. I'll pass on the meal (don't like raw spinach), drink and maybe on the wine. I haven't been to Da Nang. I'll salute V-E day. It's sunny and 73F already. What a night! Severe storms woke me up around 2AM. Somehow I missed the tornado warning. There was one in the WV panhandle and one east of me, but neither that close. There were some trees down around here and power outages (not me). I slept pretty well, considering the storms. I had a little tingling in my leg, that I think is positional. The neurosurgeon said the pain would go away right after surgery, but the tingling could take up to a year. This was very minor and hasn't occurred with being out of bed. BFF is doing pretty good. Another friend is bringing him dinner tonight. Tomorrow we go to the Ortho doc to see what the plan is. Getting him in and out of my SUV will be fun, not. @kazu Prayers the antibiotics are working and that you have less pain. @luvteaching Thinking of you today on DD DH's birthday. @MISTER 67 I'm glad you only have Thalassemia Minor, not Major. @StLouisCruisers Good luck with your prep for your trip. @aliaschief Enjoy dinner with the Captain and your upcoming off ship tour. @marshhawk I'm glad you and DH are ok! It takes a while to settle yourself after one of those near misses caused by someone's poor driving. Good luck to DH with his appointments today. @dfish Sorry to hear about all the rigamarole regarding getting your nerve ablation. @Quartzsite Cruiser Thanks for the photos from Hue. @Seasick Sailor Oliver is so lucky you became his parents! @kochleffel Wow on that AP report. It sounds like some type of mental illness may be involved. @rafinmd Thanks for today's maps. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating.
  4. Today’s Care List: Luvteaching’s DD DH’s 84th Birthday RMLincoln’s DH Richard’s post eye surgery issues Cruising-along’s BFF’s DIL Amber with a stroke, showing improvement JazzyV’s BFF with a fall and sustaining a tib-fib fracture Kazu with a foot infection and pain Victims of flooding and storms across the country Citizens of Ukraine, Israel and Gaza, hostages still held All Dailyites going through worries and stress, whether mentioned or not From the Rotation: Tana with chronic pulmonary issues StLouisCruisers’ DB with pulmonary fibrosis Rafinmd with elevated PSA (improving), and cardiology issues Celebrations and Shoutouts: RMLincoln’s DH with eye improvement on latest evaluation Ger_77’s DH Maurice with a date for TAVR surgery JazzyV with pain relief after surgery, sleeping well Kazu stepping up to keep the FR/Daily going while Rich is away The Daily Gardening Club posting wonderful flower pictures All the contributors to the Fleet Report/Daily Upcoming Cruises or At Sea: 3 days for MISTER 67 (Enchanted Princess May 11 to May 18) 7 Night Eastern Caribbean with St. Thomas 3 days for StLouisCruisers (Zuiderdam May 11 to June 8 ) 28d Azores, Normandy & Baltic Jewels Harboursiders + Zuiderdam (June 8 to July 20) 42d Ultimate Viking Explorer & Passage 3 days for Niagarawine (Koningsdam May 11 to May 18) 7d Alaska Inside Passage Cat in my lap (Zuiderdam to May 11, 128d Grand World Voyage), Gail & Marty sailing away (Zuiderdam to May 11, 128d Grand World Voyage), AncientWanderer (Westerdam Apr 27 to May 12) N. 5. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @kazu and maps @rafinmd. If it's the drink Cosmopolitan, I've never had one. Cystinosis is rare, but important to know about. Someone else can have my Sauvignon Blanc. It's also National Teacher's Day. Good quote. The meal looks good. Pass on the drink and wine ($$$). I haven't been to Kushiro. An important day in history for all of us computer geeks. It's mostly cloudy here, with storms coming tonight (remnants of the bad storms in the plains). I slept well. I had taken some ibuprofen before bed, due to the increased activity yesterday. I plan to relax today and catch up on some programs on my DVR. I just texted with BFF. He's doing fair. He says it's very energy sapping to hobble around. When we see Ortho, and a decision is made of surgery vs cast, I'll ask about the knee scooter. He also managed to get someone to mow his lawn, so that's one job taken care of. Today is my DM's heavenly birthday; she would be 120, being born in 1904. She was a teacher. @aliaschief It sounds like you're continuing to have an amazing cruise. @MISTER 67 Good news about your check up. @StLouisCruisers I hope your family stays safe. This has been wild weather this spring. @kazu I'm sorry the pain kept you awake last night. Prayers that the antibiotics work and that there is no osteomyelitis. You can whine here anytime; I did that a lot, and living alone, it was helpful (and spared BFF some). @Haljo1935 Good luck with the eye procedure, and I hope the Neurologist has an alternative therapy. @cat shepard Yes, it is BFF's driving foot. He was told it would probably be several months before he can drive. He is very independent, and now says he feels like an invalid. He's normally always doing things around the house, yardwork, etc., and this is tough on him. @smitty34877 I am glad that you have some extra help with the physical stuff, while your shoulder improves. @Cruzin Terri I'm glad you are coming up with a plan that will still allow DH to cruise, and be less stressful. @dfish I hope the nerve ablation gets ordered today. @marshhawk Good luck at the vet. I always thought flip flops were unsafe, and never wear them (plus I need something more supportive for my feet). @cunnorl I was set to watch the launch last night, and then it was scrubbed. @cruising sister Oh my goodness on the tragedies for your dear friend. Prayers for her and the family. @1ANGELCAT I hope the shot helps Houdini. @RMLincoln I hope for no concerns on the colonoscopy. Prayers for DH that things go smoothly. I need to get another Covid shot also; I didn't want to get it before my surgery, so I will go soon. @Heartgrove Thanks for checking in. @quilty964 I was on a 5 year schedule too, but last time they said it's now 7 years instead of 5. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating.
  6. Today’s Care List: Dfish having appointment with Pain and Spine clinic today RMLincoln’s DH Richard’s post eye surgery issues Cruising-along’s BFF’s DIL Amber with stroke, out of ICU but with issues JazzyV’s BFF with a fall and sustaining a tib-fib fracture Victims of flooding and storms across the country Citizens of Ukraine, Israel and Gaza, hostages still held All Dailyites going through worries and stress, whether mentioned or not From the Rotation: Tana with chronic pulmonary issues StLouisCruisers’ DB with pulmonary fibrosis Lazey1 with mitral stenosis, getting evaluated for valvuloplasty Celebrations and Shoutouts: RMLincoln’s DH with eye improvement on latest evaluation Ger_77’s DH Maurice with a date for TAVR surgery JazzyV with pain relief after surgery, sleeping well Kazu stepping up to keep the FR/Daily going while Rich is away The Daily Gardening Club posting wonderful flower pictures All the contributors to the Fleet Report/Daily Upcoming Cruises or At Sea: 4 days for MISTER 67 (Enchanted Princess May 11 to May 18) 7 Night Eastern Caribbean with St. Thomas 4 days for StLouisCruisers (Zuiderdam May 11 to June 😎 28d Azores, Normandy & Baltic Jewels Harboursiders + Zuiderdam (June 8 to July 20) 42d Ultimate Viking Explorer & Passage 4 days for Niagarawine (Koningsdam May 11 to May 18) 7d Alaska Inside Passage Cat in my lap (Zuiderdam to May 11, 128d Grand World Voyage), Gail & Marty sailing away (Zuiderdam to May 11, 128d Grand World Voyage), AncientWanderer (Westerdam Apr 27 to May 12) N. 7. Good evening. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I didn't know who Joseph Brackett was until Graham's explanation. I haven't eaten all day, so it's an inadvertent diet day. No homework got done today. Good quote. I'll pass on the meal (pears) and drink. Maybe for the wine. I haven't been to Bar Harbor and my NE/Canada cruise in the fall isn't stopping there. A good day in history. It's also Nurses Day! What a day. I was just getting dressed this morning when BFF called and said he thought he'd broken his ankle. So I headed to his house, got him in the car and to the ER. He was right. He has a tib/fib fracture. It's in a kind of soft cast, due to the swelling. They gave him crutches with no instructions; just some papers and to watch a video at home! Of course he nearly fell on the way out, so they gave him a walker, which worked much better. In the old days, someone from PT would come to show the patient how to use them. Then off to pick up meds. One wasn't ready, and just as we neared his house they texted. So back to the pharmacy. Then getting him settled at home involved some steps, which he went up on his backside. We have an Orthopedic appointment on Thursday, who will decide if any surgery is necessary or just casting. Oy! He's all worried about laundry and lawn mowing and other things. Sadly I'm still restricted about how much I can do regarding lifting things, bending, etc. Where's the bubble wrap? I'm finally home, getting something to eat and drink. BFF's next door neighbor will bring him dinner tonight. @kazu Welcome back and thanks for our start. I will check on the iPad. I got frustrated and I'm now using a laptop with Windows to copy and paste the Cares List. I'll have to try Brian's way, although mine pasted fine except the formatting (mainly bold) was missing. I'm sorry to hear about your foot, and hope all the treatment can fix it up completely. Your nurse sounds like a wonderful practitioner. @Quartzsite Cruiser Thanks for the Bar Harbor photos. @Cruising-along Great photos, especially the fall ones. @bennybear Congrats to DS on his Master's degree. @StLouisCruisers I'm glad you made it home safely. Lovely Bar Harbor photos. @RMLincoln Good news that DH's eye looked better. Prayers for continued improvement. Prayers for the Care List and a Toast to those Celebrating.
  8. Just a brief check in. BFF called this morning saying he thought he’d broken his ankle. He was outside his house in the wet grass with flip flops on, and slipped. Today is the first day I can drive. So I picked him up, got him in my car using my rollator, and here we sit at the ER.

  10. @kazu Elizabeth had posted the message below on the April 24 Daily: @JazzyV You can remove both my upcoming Westerdam cruises (April 27 & May 12) from the list as we will not be going due to my growing list of issues (eyes, shoulder, knee, neck). So, I will not be going on my first TP, nor seeing Japan for the first time & will miss our annual AK in May cruise. đŸ˜Ș Fingers crossed we will make Sept.đŸ€ž
  11. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. It's Cinco de Mayo! I'll salute cartoonists. My DM liked Chanel No. 5. Childhood stroke is a sad thing. Good quote. I'd like fajitas. Maybe for the drink and yes to the wine. I have not been to Exmouth. A good day in history. It's rainy and cooler here today. The big marathon race was this morning, so runners probably liked the weather. I'm not getting as good sleep in the bed, so I'll have to decide about returning to the recliner. Business brokers have their role. Interesting quote. Pass on the meal (fish). Maybe for the drink and yes to the wine. I haven't been to Klaipeda. Ah, the day in history of the "Iron Woman" as she was called. It's been raining here since last night, but not heavily. I did go upstairs to sleep. I was afraid to try lying on my back. I got about 5 hours of sleep. Today I need to get BFF to go to the PO; they won't pick up the packages I'm sending for the research study, as they're labeled hazmat (they are just nasal swabs contained in a tube and double wrapped.
