  1. We have stayed in the Holiday Inn Port of Miami 4 times. It is not fancy, but it is clean and very comfortable. Our reason for staying there is because Bayside Market is across the street. We always fly in the day before and that evening we spend our time at the Market. It has lots of shops, restaurants and entertainment. Bubba Gump Shrimp and a Hard Rock Café are located there. It starts our vacation off with a lot of fun. We usually go back over the morning of the cruise for breakfast. It is a perfect place for us.

  2. We are arriving at 2:22 pm at MCO. We have a reservation at the LaQuinta Inn and Suites Oceanfront in Cocoa Beach. When I looked at the Cortrains site, it says there last pickup is at 12:30 pm. What other transportation service would you recommend to get us from the airport to our hotel?

  3. Since FTTF 1st came out, we have booked it every cruise. It is really nice not to have to drag your carry on stuff around with you until the cabins open at 1:30 or 2:00. We meet our cabin steward and head up to lunch. Being one of the 1st ones on board, there is not the line for lunch that there is latter. We also like to get unpacked as soon as our luggage arrives. If you are tendering in to any of your ports you don't have to wait to get on a tender, you will be put on the next available. We have also used the special line at the services desk to ask questions or if we need anything. We also do self assist debarkation too so that we are on our way to the airport and home as soon as possible. We would hate to go back to not having FTTF, although after my next cruise in February I should be platinum. Woo Hoo!!

  4. We are flying into Orlando on Thanksgiving Day. We will be cruising out of Port Canavaral on the next day. We will arrive around 1:00pm. Trying to decide which would be better, staying in Orlando or going on to Cocoa Beach. I know this is a tourist area, so a lot of things will be open, but with coming in that early and not being able to check into a hotel til around 4:00pm which would be the best place in your opinion to find lunch and something to occupy our time for the rest of the day. Will anything be open at the Cocoa Beach Pier? Will there be any shopping open in Orlando? Help!!

  5. We will be getting off the ship in Port Canaveral on Saturday Dec. 1st. I am looking at making our flight reservations. There is a very good flight that leaves at 11:20. I know most people are saying to book a flight after 12:30. My question to you is have you ever made a flight that early from Port Canaveral to Orlando?

  6. Anyone been on this excursion? There are no reviews listed with the excursion on Carnival. We will be in Skagway 2 weeks from Friday, and are trying to find an excursion that everyone will like. We have one that really wants to pan for gold. Makes me a little nervous not having any reviews to read

  7. And here I thought I was drinking fresh mango!! I know I will at least have to have one while on the cruise. Possibly on sail away day when it will be the warmest. I am sure irish cream coffee and hot chocolate will be pretty tasty too! Thanks for the replies!

  8. We are sailing on the Legend to Alaska in August. My absolute favorite Carnival drink is Kiss on the Lips. My question is, do they serve the tropical drinks on cruises to Alaska? Kiss on the Lips is made with Mango and I didn't know if they would ship fresh Mango up north to make these drinks, or do they just have the usual alcohol drinks. I so love my favorite drink and always look forward to having them on a cruise! I have tried to replicate it at home, but its just not the same. Maybe that is because the atmosphere is not the same!

  9. We stayed in the port area, when we were there in January. I found it to be a beautiful place and enjoyed the pools. My DH and DS enjoyed the zipline. We went back on the ship and ate lunch, and then got off and did some shopping. I had been to an all inclusive the year before, in Punta Cana, and really did not enjoy the bus trips to the excursions at all. Seemed to be far apart and didn't enjoy the countryside getting there. I really enjoyed Amber Cove over seeing the DR.

  10. We are flying into Seatlle a few days before our cruise this August. We have not booked a hotel yet, but are thinking of going thru Hotwire for a downtown hotel. I am looking for info on how to get around Seattle without renting a car. We would also like to take a ferry up to Victoria and spend an afternoon there. There will be 5 of us, and am planning on taking a taxi from the airport up to the hotel and also to the port. Any help on what to see and do and how to get around would be much appreciated.

  11. Flying from KC to Vancouver is pretty expensive and then it not being roundtrip, since we come back into Seattle, makes it even more so. We will think about renting a car, but not sure there is anyone in the group of 5 that wants to drive. May consider coming in Friday evening and taking the train up to Vancouver so we would be there for the whole day on Saturday. Just realized I said my ship sails on Monday and it is actually Tuesday. We may take the Monday morning train back and then explore Seattle the rest of the day. Any suggestions on lodging in either place if this ends up being how we do it. Thanks!

  12. We are cruising next August out of Seattle. We are planning to fly in to Seattle on Saturday and travel to Vancouver to sightsee before our ship leaves from Seattle on Monday. I have been reading about the things to see and do in Vancouver and know we probably won't have time to see it all. My question is what is the best way to travel from Seattle to Vancouver and back. We hope to take an early flight that will arrive in Seattle by 8 or 9 am. How long will it take to travel this distance. Still trying to decide whether we should stay in Vancouver Sunday night and travel back to Seattle on Monday to get to the cruise or if we need to go back to Seattle on Sunday night.

  14. My post is for the Rodeway Inn in the FLL area. It was from Hotwire and was listed as a 3 star. I did know this was probably the motel I would get, but as I said, I was looking for something cheap as we won't be arriving in Ft Lauderdale until after 9. I would agree, that it probably should be a 2 star. I will also take the suggestion to get our own transportation with either uber or a taxi, rather than waiting on the shuttle.

  15. Just booked a 3 star in the Ft Lauderdale International Airport area.

    Rodeway Inn Airport/Cruise port

    January 14-15

    $124 + Tax for $165

This motel had some good reviews, we don't get in until after 9, so just looking for somewhere to lay our heads for the night. It has a shuttle from the airport and also to the cruise port. Anyone know if there is any stores close to this motel for our last minute supplies?
