I travel every week both by car and fly. For me it is a toss up-
Spinners are easier to push on flat smooth surfaces but a pain in bumpy or carpeting. The wheels do eat up a bit more space so if you carry on as I often do, I don't want to give that up. And as noted above that may not be a rugged - my wheels broke off before zippers ever gave way.

My husband cruises to please me and as long as he doesn't look out at the ocean he is fine. So I only get to sail every few years and enjoy them while we are on them. Our next is a transatlantic to celebrate our retirements this fall - hopefully he will enjoy so we plan more in the future. Otherwise I will look to sail solo in the future while he is playing in a poker tournament (torture for me to spend time in loud, smoky casino). That marriage compromise.

I wrap them in bubble wrap (reduce opportunity for breakage) and then a zip lock type bag. I travel with only a 22" carry on and have had no issues. Love my diffuser and having it in our cabin is so enjoyable.

Despite other comments I will add to the chorus that we had a great time on her in July. Sure I have stayed in some swanky hotels but on a cruise I have sun and fresh sea air and the wonderful ocean - not looking for the faults. Hate to hear the card room is moving as we spent time there each day and it was so calming.

Enjoy - she is our favorite ship and wish we could sail this fall.

I too am a tea snob and bring my own tea brew mug with strainer. I have had an issue that the hot water was brought in a pot that has also held coffee - yuck.. So I ask them to fill my brewer with hot water and then brew. As far as milk - your best bet is the Windjammer. we keep milk for our son with Type 1 diabetes so always have a true small refrigerator in the room to keep it cold.
-
Never had a need for them as we found plenty of room for storage. I don't like anything left laying around so we corralled in the storage shelves in zip lock bags.
-
We are also of the carry on luggage group - we always have it when we arrive (after lost bags on an Alaskan cruise we realized we could manage just fine with a 22" roller bag each as well as a "personal item". Additionally we generally don't try to board too early so cabins are available quickly after boarding.
Have fun

We took a cab - quick and easy. Driver even let us stop and pick up wine within sight of the pier.
-
I usually sent my boys off to the gym showers so I had the cabin to myself to get ready - they were larger showers than the cabin and no complaints from me on them taking so long in the shower.

Have a wonderful time - the ship will be particularly beautiful. We would pack only stockings with small stuffers. For gifts we traded names and you had to hunt for the perfect present in port and spend no more than $10 - we had a lot of laughs and a great time.

Congratulations on the marriage. My warning is to look carefully at the value of those timeshare points - we have always found better pricing directly with the cruise company than using points.
-
We caught a cab - very easy ride to the port. There is a great wine shop very close and he stopped there and waited while we picked up our two bottles, then on to the ship.

Christmas Eve there were lovely carols in the Centrum when we were on Granduer for the holidays.
-
We travel with standard 22" roller board suitcases and have had no problems with them at the port.
-
We always pack in airline carry on size bags which fit very nicely through the scanner at the port. We choose to keep them with us as we don't fight any lines for lunch and are unpacked and enjoying the ship as soon as the rooms open. our final reason is no chance of misplaced luggage.
Have fun!

We are also the up early folks - coffee and walking. Then sit somewhere on deck or in the Viking Lounge area and enjoy the quiet.
-
Another consideration - I have flown the Monday after Thanksgiving and it can still be very busy with long, slow security lines. Even with TSA pre-check it was not moving very fast.

That really depends on how much you like to dress up at night. We pack two 22" carry on size for a week cruise, plus a personal bag each - don't have to worry about missing baggage. Toiletries are all small size and plenty for a week. Dark slacks/capris for dinner as well as sundresses that can be worn one night and then the next day. Two swim suits with a coverup plus two pair of shorts with 4 tops for daytime wear. I wear only comfortable shoes (no heels) so sneakers, flip flops and a pair of black flat sandals for dinner are all we need. DH wears slacks and long sleeve shirt to dinner - a suit reminds him too much of work requirements. For us, packing very light is what we prefer but it is not for everyone.
Have fun!

Have a great time!
My husband wears leather sandals with trousers to dinner and looks great. Shirts are either polos or woven cotton or linen. For formal night he will wear a dress shirt and tie with a sport jacket. We can pack for a 10 day vacation in two 22" carry on bags so that may influence our attitude on dress. For port ideas I suggest looking at the Ports of Call boards here for ideas, additionally I comb through Trip Advisor, etc for ideas. If the speciality restaurant date is important for an event, those I would get in advance, otherwise you can wait until you are on board.

We also use Calorie King for Type 1 DS - we actually have to watch more for lows as we are so active and walk stairs so we come home without that special cruise souvenir of pounds.
-
When we arrived back in SanJuan in July we were not off the ship until nearly 11 am and were not nearly the last group. Customer was slow, perhaps because it was July 4. i guess it depends where you want to wait to board - at your hotel or at the pier.
Have a great time.

Part of my planning is selecting a new knitting project for the cruise - just finished these Caribbean socks. Wearing them will bring back memories of the fun we had in the southern Caribbean.

Day after was fine. Wednesday, Sunday afternoon and Monday morning are brutal!
Wrinkles!!!!!
in First Time Cruisers
Posted
And in the hot, humid Caribbean I bring linen as it is cool to wear and is supposed to be wrinkled. ALso can be dampened in the shower and dries quickly.
