  1. Covid changed our Panorma plans, but we went on her in Oct! No close calls, maybe in Cabo ;) Heading to Rome in May for a 10 day cruise on X, no kids, lol! I've gone to a few Meet n Greets since I've missed the ship, this story came up twice! On one occasion I didn't say I was klfhngr, lol. On the other, I did. I was treated sorta like a celebrity, lol! Awkward, lol. But many, many people thanked me for my story. Happy sailing everyone, the cruises continue!

  2. Suggestion: As soon as you know which tour you want to take, book it! I snoozed on a few thru Viator (and others), they've all gone up between 30-60 bucks, per person! You snooze, you lose! Many are selling out, btw, especially during late spring and summer!

  3. Let's not talk about pickleball! I ruptured my patella tendon exactly one year ago playing! Had major surgery on my left knee, lol! I ruptured my right patella tendon playing hoop years ago and have had 3 surgeries on it, lol! But in all honestly, pickleball is a cool sport, but I can no longer play 😞

  4. On our first X cruise, I accidently fell asleep on my pillow chocolates! The next morning, it was all over the bed sheets and looked like someone crapped in the bed. On the way out to breakfast, our cabin steward was about to come in. I told him, 'I'm sorry, but my wife wasn't feeling well last night!' Later that day, he was cracking up! I did apologize for falling asleep on it, he said no problem.

If your bar tab was only $300 for an entire cruise, you don't "like to drink" as much as you think you do. 😜 LOL. $300 is probably a low point for a single sea day drink tab for us, and we have never gotten "hammered" on a cruise.

300-400. And as I mentioned, wife doesn't drink a lot. So that's mostly me. Mostly beer and harder drinks at night.

Mazatlan: I highly suggest Stone Island, we all loved it. We've been there on 4 or so cruises and have taken others there. They have all loved it. Hang out at Lety's (Victor's used to be the spot, but word is that he's no longer open, he comes and goes). At Stone, you can do a lot of water sports and ATV. ATV's here are cheap, and you can ride all over the beach! Waiters at Lety's can hook you up. You can also do a banana boat here, jet ski, parasail, etc.! Very active place and also a great place to chill. Food is the BOMB and cheap!!! Head back to the ship an hour or so early and hang out at the bars by the ship or shop!

Update on Lety's: It's not the same, I was just there in Oct., will NOT go back there. Find somewhere else on Stone Island!

  7. I like to drink, wife has about 3 or so a day. We didn't get Cheers in Oct., our friends did. In my opinion, we made out. Our friends tried to drink more than normal, would get others drink on their package and they BARELY broke even. Our tab was about 300 or so, and again, I enjoyed my drinks w/o hesitation. I would NOT get package in Carnival in the future.

Has there been a lack of attention lately since "Everything Included" became pretty much the standard?

I had two casino bookings that didn't include beverage packages and I usually book Premium Non-Alc  (PMNA) which serves me well. The few alcoholic drinks I do enjoy I just charge to the room.

Last two sailings on EDGE, none of the drinks ended up on my bill. Often times the staff doesn't care to swipe the card at all and even when they did swipe my card no charge showed up on the final folio including for New Years Eve.

Were you able to get anything OVER the cap that wasn't charged?

I was watching a couple bloggers that were on the RCL Wonder of the Seas for its maiden voyage and they had wished that they had waited for a few cruises to get under their belt. Issues from the staff still finding their way, to shows not having all their props to the sprinkler system going on in the promenade.

My friends go on Wonder this week, I told them that they are lucky that it wasn't the first one!

What is the price difference to get the Premium after I've already booked?  I'm having a hard time finding this information on the website. What is the price difference to get the Premium after I've already booked?  I'm having a hard time finding this information on the website.

I upgraded for my 10 day cruise and it was only $120 more for 1.

IMO, that will eventually come in spite of the CDC, not from the CDC. At some point, one major cruise line will stop voluntarily adhering to the CDC cruise guidance and the rest will follow.

And a good question it is, TR. We are scheduled to fly to Rome on May 11, 2022 at 3:10pm for a 10 night cruise departing on May 13. Whether or not required, we will be covid tested in the A.M with results due prior to departure. If results are positive, we ain't goin'. If results are negative, that is good news for our health and the health of fellow travelers who are in contact with us. We will still be wearing masks on board the aircraft and while embarking on cruise day. Not to do so would completely negate our thoughts and reasoning pertinent to the overall cruising experience for  fellow passengers and crew. Personally, I do not want to be responsible for causing a negative vacation experience for others.

We'll see you onboard, we're on this one too!

I don’t think that is the “drinks plus more “that the op is seeking.

Yup, that's why I mentioned that I didn't want all that other stuff. Originally OP stated that they wanted to upgrade the drink package. Just threw it out there, just in case 🙂

  14. I just did it last week! I called for excursions and asked if I could upgrade drink package. It only cost me $120 to upgrade, for a 10 day cruise. I only upgraded the drink package, I didn't want all the other stuff (OBC, discounts on other stuff).

They are worth checking, particularly on international flights, because they occasionally have good consolidator fares.

But if price is not attractive, avoid them. They are an obstacle in the way of making changes to your flight if necessary, they charge a punitive change fee within final payment even if the airline has no change fee, and their fuzzy commitments such as "peace of mind" and "We'll be there for you" mean nothing. Their only commitment is to assist with rebooking should you have flight issues. Nothing more.

ah man! i have a 1 hour gap in frankfurt to jump off plane and be on the next flight to roma
