  1. Michael's Club (at least on M-Class ships) has a coffee machine you can use during hours it is not staffed (it won't be that early in the morning). If you do not want to make it yourself, room service would be only option (not sure if you can order espresso or just regular coffee though). The fee is waived for suites. While a butler may agree to deliver this, personally I would be reticent to ask - they need their sleep too.

I thought all staterooms have free room service?

  2. I second the wifi package. Maybe you can purchase the group for 3 or 4 devices, but not sure if you have to be in the same cabin. Even if your Dad does not have a phone easy enough to text, maybe someone in the family has a tablet he could use. Depending on the ship, some phone carriers have plans that you can use on the ship too. Find which is the cheapest option. Your family will probably find this useful to find each other as well.

  3. Isn’t ship scheduled to be refurbished this winter? Looking forward to our March cruise did sister ship summit a few months ago and loved it

I think it is scheduled to be done in the fall of 2020.

  4. I have used the $10 for an international day pass on AT&T for one day on a cruise just to talk with my family. Some Celebrity ships you can use your phone with a $100 plan for cellular at sea for texting and calls. May be worthwhile in some circumstances or back to back cruisers (last for 30 days). I will use next year for my 15 Day Panama Canal cruise since I am going without hubby or kids and hubby prefers to pay for this so they can get in touch with me since I have an apple phone and he has samsung the wifi texts do not go through.

  5. We have one day in Sicily - docking in Messina. I have read multiple reviews of shore excursions and my question is:

Should we do Mt. Etna and Taormina excursion or just the Taormina on Your Own excursion? From what I have read, both are great places to visit but I am concerned that Etna will be more time consuming and may cost us time in Taormina which I really, really want to see. Have seen volcanoes on Maui and the Big Island...is this really worth the trip and cost to do Etna? Thanks for ANY advice you can give!

I loved the Taormina on my own. My hubby and I had to have a cannoli there (where they were invented), I still dream about them and have never had one as delish as there (and I have had quite a lot!).

I guess it depends on your likes.

  6. Thinking of trying a 9:50a.m. Flight out of FLL from the Silouette Dec.9th. We have TSA for airlines and will carry our luggage off ship. Will have a cabin on deck 3 which is close to the deck for getting off the ship. What time is the usual self luggage carry off start? I'm aware of the possible delays to getting off the ship.

That means they start boarding at 9:15 or so. I think that time is cutting it too close. If there is the slightest delay you will not make it.

  7. That is the price, unless there is a special which is usually reserved for TA's/Repositioning sailings.

There have been reports, rarely, that specials can be had, that is on a cruise by cruise basis and, again, rare.

The price you found is the price it most likely will be (which includes gratuities).

    bon voyage

I tried to upgrade my package with the last sale but was told I could not use the sale price or upgrade at that time for Nov 19 sailing, so basically I had to wait and pay more.

  8. A C2 guarantee guarantees you a C2 or above stateroom, not a C3. Depending on inventory, you may get an assignment at any time, and sometimes a couple days before the cruise. If you are assigned ahead of time, and another stateroom in that category becomes available, you can switch without cost. It's really a crap shoot. Sometimes this far you can get your TA to call and attempt to get an assignment. I did one time and got my assignment, then I didn't like the location so I switched to another in that same category.

Thanks! I don't see any available C1 or C2 staterooms on this cruise listed. I guess I will wait and see.

  9. I'm booked on a Panama Canal Cruise in Oct 19 with a C2 guarantee stateroom. Does that mean I could get C2, C1 or C3 staterooms? Is there a chance I won't find out the stateroom until boarding or if the ship sells out could I get the stateroom assigned ahead of time? Does anyone have experience with this?

  10. I did a tour from a hotel about 6 years ago to this Volcano. We took the horses which weren't in the best shape and they were slipping on the terrain. Then when you get to a certain point you have to climb on your own. The path was step, slippery and seemed unsafe. The elevation bothered my Aunt, so I ended up sitting with her on a picnic table but I don't think it is that safe for being 2 women on your own. A man from the side of the mountain started skulking around, but luckily the tour guide sent back another guide from the top to stay with us and then we were ok. My sisters soles of her sneakers melted some on the heat of the volcano . About 2 weeks after our return the Volcano had an eruption and a couple of people died. I would never go to this Volcano again!

  11. Is there cell phone service while we’re at sea and/or docked in Bermuda? Thanks.

Att has cell phone while at sea but you must subscribe ahead of time. It does not include all ports. You can look up on their website if you have this type of plan.

I use the unlimited wifi package and can receive texts on my iphone from other apple products but not samsung.

  12. Wow, such great pictures! I have been to Antigua before on a tour and I think I would like to do a tour on my own. If I remember it isn't a huge town. I also would like to do Puerto Vallarta on my own but I think I would take a taxi to the Malecon maybe and walk around.

Ok, I have a few questions if you don't mind?

Did you get any useful maps of the ports on the ship?

Were you able to use American dollars everywhere?

How many Elegant nights did you have and when were they?

  13. I have sailed Concierge on Celebrity over 5 times and I've yet to be invited to any special lunch. WTH? I always arrive before 1pm.

We were actually told at check in but it was my first time in Concierge and my roommates first time on Celebrity. Being a regular they may have thought you knew.

I find thats why Cruise Critic is good because you can find out a lot of info before your cruise so you are not dependent on someone notifying you of your benefits.

  14. Tried Aqua class once. Enjoyed Blu for breakfast. DH was very unhappy at dinner (& this is a guy that never complains). When we were flying home from that cruise he said, ok we experimented can we go back to my concierge cabin (better locations) & MDR (better food) now? I concurred & that’s where we’ll stay. He did like the showers in Aqua

Sent from my iPad using Forums

Can you not eat in the MDR with Aqua class?

  15. I have not been on my cruise yet, but travelled to Rome and Florence 18 months ago.

I bought Murano glass pens with ink wells (have in Rome and Florence). People I bought them for loved them (got stationery to go too). I got them for 10 to 15 euro each and stationery packs for 3-5 euro each.

Leather belts in Florence for 10 euro each and they cut to size.

Leather gloves in every color in Florence and the Rome airport.

Beautiful scarves for 5 euro each on the street everywhere. I will def. get more this time, I loved them and will get for gifts.
