  1. Just a word of caution...a dear friend just returned froma Med cruise..she uses a small backpack while in port. Unfortunately it wasn't a Magellan or something like it.

Her backpack was slashed and she lost her camera and a small wallet she had some cash and one credit card in.:(

She swears she never felt a thing and only noticed the items were missing when she sat down and leaned back..the pack was empty expect for a water bottle that was nestled in the side and didn't come out.

  2. The cruiselines basically "force" people to sit at dinner with other individuals whom they may not know.

I'm not sure that people should be forced to carry on conversations with others seated at the table.

I do think that introductions are fine..but if a couple want to talk between themselves and not engage in a full table conversation they should be allowed to do so and not be considered "snobs" or otherwise. As long as they greet others at the table, once they are seated if they want time to themselves they should be able to have it without being criticized.

Just because you are seated at the same table does not require that you have to entertain your tablemates. Doesn't mean they are snobs or that they don't like you it just means that they would like to talk and visit with each other and not a bunch of strangers.

And not everyone can get a table for two..so pax that don't necessarily want to sit with others are forced to , unless they do MTD and request tables for two..or they can eat in one of the specialties.

  3. What a great person!

My poor friend lost her camera in NYC a few months ago. It had the entire first year of her daughters life on it, which she like many others has never copied to her computer. She cried and threw up for a week, so sad. I bet she is wishing someone like you found her camera.

Things like that just make me crazy.:(

  4. I haven't heard back from them yet. I spoke to the rep on Friday. I suspect I won't have an answer until tomorrow with the holiday weekend.

The woman helping me in Aruba is the Editor-in-Chief of the Aruba Today newspaper. About a half hour ago, she said she was getting ready to go to the Schakel school.

Great!!! Hope she gets some results.

Those guys owe you a drink if they get their camera back.:D

  5. Thanks for the kudos, folks. I'm an investigator by profession, so I just couldn't pass up this challenge. I've got everything identified so far except the "who." I'm hoping to find one person with Aruban connections. Otherwise, I guess I'll just have to book a trip to Aruba! :D

    Good idea!!

    Nothing like being "in country".:)

  6. Thanks, CJ. I appreciate the kudos.

The camera was in an Ikelite housing. There was not one single drop of water or grain of salt inside the housing. I already reached out to Ikelite and gave them the story. They are currently trying to track the serial number for me. I should have an answer on Tuesday.

They have a product to be proud of.

    I'm checking their website now.:)

  7. I was wondering this myself.

Have a granddaughter sailing and Falmouth is the new port in Jamaica...she wants to do the zipline in Ocho Rios...but am not sure if RCI will be offering tours to that area and we really don't know much about Falmouth and what excursions will be offered there.:(

Hope RCI gives out some info before pax want to start booking excursions.
