  1. Keep this in mind, Everyone will have a different opinions and views. I would not go by a first time cruisers reviews for the fact that first impressions are everything and can have a lasting effect. Some people have very bad experiences and refuse to give second chances (Cruising is not for everyone), the first timers may realize that it's not for them and there for have much differant views about the product/cruise. You should read reviews from seasoned travelers, but sometimes they can also get turned around by maybe one bad experience that may have occurred at a certain moment, like being in the wrong place at the wrong time or someone not getting there way would warrant a negative view. You may listen to all of the negative reviews and not realize that you are missing out on something fantastic or just the reverse. I believe first hand, personal experience is the best way and only way to go (My opinion).

  2. Here is my take, Even with the price of the airfare, tax, port fees and hotel stay the cost is minimal for a 7 night cruise (I'm assuming it's to the Caribbean). and if you fly into MIA or FLL early the day before it's like an extended vacation by one day but you can do a lot in that day if you stay local. The Bayside Marketplace is a nice experience. And I would see about being able to upgrade the free cabin and only paying the difference. Book the Anthem for another time.

  3. After reading this thread, you are the wind beneath our wings. Thank you for letting us know that the WoW bands are still free of charge.

One interesting thought I had though, regarding having to turn the band over for drinks - we're set I think with our drink packages - but, upon getting a WoW band, we'll be sharpie ready and place our initials on them just in case we do take them off as to avoid mix-ups as described by another poster on here.

Or you can just use your card to purchase the drinks to avoid a mix up and headache.

  4. Hi

The SeaPass cards are not given to you at check in and one of them is left outside your cabin in a sealed envelope

The envelope is sealed and it says on it if their is evidence of tampering you should report this. You just need to take card out and open the door. The door wouldn't open with the card still in the envelope.

In your cabin is the other SeaPass card and the two WOW bands.

We didn't hear of any issues with this process as if someone did try to use your card for purchases the photos wouldn't match which did seem to be checked in most cases

Wow, I'm not liking that, I am wondering if I can retrieve My card as soon as I board from the cabin or if I need to wait until the cabin is cleaned and ready.

  5. Probably been asked before..........does RCCL "Anthem of the Seas" allow 2 bottles of wine per person or per cabin carry on wine allowance?

Would they confiscate 2 bottles if it was only per cabin allowance?

    Regards,

    Grahaminca

Guests wishing to bring personal wine and champagne onboard may do so only on boarding day, limited to two (2) 750 ml bottles per stateroom. Additional bottles of wine beyond two (2) bottles that are brought onboard or any alcoholic beverages purchased in ports of call or from Shops On Board will be stored by the ship and delivered to your stateroom on the last day of the sailing.

  6. Hi Seaworthy, we have not seen anything on wine packages anywhere onboard. He only thing being plugged very heavily are the drinks packages with multiple tables set up on the first day and tv screens on each bar with the information on them

Thank you for the information. I may look into the packages they offer when we board in that case, it would be a waste being that I don't drink much but my wife loves wine and at $9+ a glass  it may be worth it.

  7. I have a favor to ask of anyone on board . If it is not too much trouble , we are planning my Daughter's wedding on board Anthem July 9th sailing to Bermuda. One venue they have offered is the Conference center at the stern of the ship. Was wondering if anyone on board could snap a picture or 2 . We anticipate 40 -50 people sailing and attending the wedding and it looks like a great view out the rear of the ship .

The only other venue available that sailing is the Music Hall and while nice we were looking for something with an outdoor view. The solarium has been offered as well but tuled out based on how warm it could be that time of year in the solarium.

Any thoughts are most appreciated, thank you and enjoy your sailing ! ,glenn

  8. My husband has had back and knee surgery, and still suffers from chronic back pain, and pain in the other knee. He has done three Segway tours in the past 4 months, and loves it! In planning for our next cruise, he asked if there were any Segway tours at our ports. I hadn't thought of this for San Juan, but now I will. He is 67 years old, and had absolutely no difficulty operating the machine, and the ability to get around the streets was wonderful for him, because his walking distance without pain is very limited. We did travel over bumpy terrain in other cities, and he didn't have any discomfort following the tours. You can also slow the machine when traveling over bumpy areas if you are concerned about the jarring effect.

Now I am rethinking this, I had back surgery 2 years ago, Total knee replacement 2 months ago, Need a second knee replacement soon. I also have chronic back pain (Need fusion to correct the problem) and arthritis of the hip. What the hell, I say go for it and see what happens.
