  1. I think you should follow Julies lead and book both. I booked the Anthem and looking forward to the experience (read so many good things), I do plan on booking the Oasis class in the near future, may even book it while on the Anthem. I do prefer the larger ships. No matter which one you choose first, I am sure you will have the time of your life.

  2. The opening times can very depending on what day.

They are open when in port and if you cannot get a booking this is always a good time to go as there is quite a few no shows as people get off, don't cancel and then don't turn up (how rude! :o)

On sea days it usually opens about 9am till about 6pm but it can be cancelled or hours changed if the sea is rough and they cannot run it.

Port day times vary depending on the times the ship is in port. They do not usually open all day. Usually a morning and afternoon session.

    Thank You!

  3. Where would you be coming from in South Jersey? Chances are you could just drive to the port the day of the cruise and pay the $190 to park. You're sailing in April, so there shouldn't be any major weather concerns.

The full range of park/sleep options will not be available until later this year. The cheapest one including port transportation should be a little over $200 tax included. But you have to drive up the previous day and deal with the traffic and congestion of Newark Airport (unless you pay more to go to a Staten Island park/sleep) and stay in an airport hotel in a highly industrialized urban area with poor restaurant choices. You then have to schlep you luggage both ways on a port shuttle instead of being able to hop in your car and head home from Cape Liberty.

In the end it's a personal choice. I'm sailing in two weeks and I'm driving down the morning of the cruise from Mass.

Very good points, I'll just park at the port.

  4. If you can step up one step (which is the equivalent of stepping up onto the Segway) you will be fine. The initial step up and stepping off are the most unnatural feeling parts of the experience, but once you do it a couple of times, it comes rather naturally. Other than that, it's standing and a slight lean forward or backward. I have chronic low back pain and muscle spasms and have had no problems. My husband has ridden a Segway after having both knees replaced as well as before having it done. No issues either time. Super fun!! Enjoy!!

We did a Segway tour in San Juan May 2014 after disembarking our ship prior to heading to the airport for an afternoon flight. It was easy to walk from Pier 4 to the Segway office where our luggage was stored while we toured on the Segway. There was more "tour" (interpret as stop and listen to the guide) than riding than on other local tours we have taken, but still a good time!

Thank you for the feedback, I may need to book this excursion. Sounds like a great experience.

  5. See where the cranes are in the back/center of the image a few posts up? That's where it's going...it will be at the 'returning to port' end of the terminal......

I see the cranes, they look to be over were the old terminal building is/was. Did they demolish that building?
