  1. If you’re going to compare it to Disney, please don’t. But you’re probably sailing for 1/3 of the price.

The Liberty is a WONDERFUL ship and the crews out of Texas request to be there and are excellent.

Then again, I like the “smaller” ships. I won’t search out an Oasis class ship to go on again. The scheduling and stuff really turned me off. I hope the Liberty stays in Texas for a very long time.

As for getting to the port, go a day early and visit Kemah and check out Rocket Park at NASA... it’s Free.

  2. Cable would be our choice. We enjoy the Melia there and there are quite a few resorts which have day passes, pools, and nice beaches.

April, Where did you buy your day pass for Melia? I'm having a hard time finding the site.

  3. I agree, but it has been 20 percent all year except for a brief point when it was 30 percent off

I waited and regret it. It's now $55 for my sailing on Oasis. They are trying to push the voom with it for $59.... but I don't want our internet to work. LOL.

It is simple for us. We buy the package and go the bar and get a drink. I don't think I've ever been charged an extra charge... I may be fortunate, I don't drink expensive wine but I have bought a lot of the mixed drinks on any of the menus.

  4. Doesn't it show in your cruise planner? I know for the 5 cruises in ours it shows the time for each different sailing under the sailing (for traditional and the one my time it just says my time) Our March Oasis we had 8:30pm or October Oasis was 8pm, but they both showed in our cruise planner as that time so we booked shows around it accordingly.

Yes, it says 8:30, but it has said that for all of our cruises. Sometimes it's 8, sometimes 8:15, sometimes 8:30. On other ships that doesn't matter. They plan the shows around it.

  5. Your cruise has not happened so it's hard to say

On the other hand if you pick a show time that conflicts with your meal time as a rule the cruise planner will spit it out

I haven't found that to be the case. I believe that is only if you are purchasing times or maybe if you do "my time". I know I planned three shows during our dinner time, but we are going to make other arrangements for those nights.

Thank you though... This cruise has been very hard on people who like to plan since they changed it to the Eclipse Cruise and shuffled things around.

  6. If I was pregnant and decided to sail, RCI could not deny me boarding because they "think" I'm pregnant. Can you imagine the media fallout that would occur from them turning away women who they "think" are pregnant? What, are they gonna require you to pee on a stick before embarkation?

That was not what that was in response to... If you self declare that you are pregnant to get out of paying for a second beverage package they could deny you boarding without a doctors note. May not be completely likely that they would link these two things- but possible.

  7. A woman can be newly pregnant. With Hipa laws, Royal can't ask her a thing. Now DH can enjoy his drink package.

Not true. Newly pregnant or up to 24 weeks, you still need a doctors note to sail.

    Pregnancy

Royal Caribbean International cannot accept guests who will have entered their 24th week of pregnancy by the beginning of, or at any time during the cruise or cruisetour. A physician's "Fit to Travel" note is required prior to sailing, stating how far along (in weeks) your pregnancy will be at the beginning of the cruise and confirming that you are in good health and not experiencing a high-risk pregnancy. The "Fit to Travel" note should be faxed to the Access Department at 1-954-628-9622. Please contact us at 1-866-592-7225 or at special_needs@rccl.com if you have already booked a cruise or cruisetour and do not meet this requirement.

All reading this....if you want something to complain about write down the price of your sailing today and when your 57 days out price your sailing on the web and do it every day until 14 days out I GUARENTEE the price will drop more than 433 or 216.50x2 and you can do NOTHING about that!

Wow... well this is not true... I happen to know that for the last 4 cruises I booked, that I booked about 8-14 months out, at the time periods you are saying, and the day we got on the ship the cost was considerably more for the equivalent or higher room category...

  9. Well, it is comforting to know that the life boats offer full bar service. What about entertainment? I really don't expect a string quartet, ala the Titanic, but perhaps a slot machine or two? And maybe Bingo and Schooner bar Trivia? What about specialty dining?

HAHA You have to be a suite guest for that... Oh wait no, that was cleared up in another thread... Suite's don't have separate life boats.

  10. Here is what appears at the top of the page when I click "view reservation":

We're sorry, but we are unable to retrieve your booking information at this time. For assistance, please call 866-562-7625

So I called that number & the rep gave me the info I've already posted above. I thought it may be a glitch, but have been trying to access the reservation for over 3 weeks now.

I have that error showing up on a cruise I have booked in August. I was told by the IT department several days ago to email them. (Obviously a way to get me off the phone because he couldn't help me.) Then I finally got an email back just a little while ago that told me to stay logged out and access the cruise planner and online check in in via the 'before you board' tab. This worked for me. It's annoying and I still can't get to the reservation page with the itinerary and stuff... but I was able to book my entertainment.
